  1. We were also on the May 24th sailing, disembarked on June 6. I pretty much lived in shorts during the day inside the ship…that or a skort. Sky Lounge could run quite warm when the sun was shining on the glass. Dinner in MDR or specialties I was comfortable with a short sleeved dress, slacks with a short sleeved blouse/shirt and always brought along a light cardigan…just in case but rarely wore. A couple of the sea days the wind made it cool outside while sailing and you’d need pants and/or a jersey to wander around but oftentimes I’d still wear shorts to walk the track. We had wonderful weather so of course this helps but inside the ship you def won’t freeze..it was pretty consistent. We actually had our cabin temp set to the lowest (coolest) setting as I like to sleep in a cooler environment…and we also slept with the veranda door open…nice fresh air!  Such a great itinerary and my favourite ship!

So the real question is - did Celebrity sell the licenses too? Lindblad currently sails on the National Geograpihc ships. Those licenses are worth gold. I wouldn't hesitate to sail to the Galapagos with Lindblad on the Xpedition. Flora holds no attraction for me after being on Xpedition twice. Infinite verandas are a huge design mistake.

We’re booked on Flora with an actual veranda..not an IV. I’m confused as to why Flora holds no appeal for you. 🤔

  3. Very glad we booked our Flora Galapagos cruise while onboard Silhouette last week. We were interested in comparing with Xpedition but since it wasn’t released and all Flora bookings are fully refundable until final payment we had time to wait to see what the new pricing would be on Xpedition when they were finally released. Glad we have the cabins we want now…I’m sure prices will only go up.
Hopefully all those who are impacted find a suitable replacement.

  4. We were also on this cruise. We departed from Amsterdam and disembarked from Rotterdam. I was under the impression that the Silhouette would alternate embarking from both cities.
@Nancycat thanks for doing this follow-up…it’ll be interesting to see how your experiences do or don’t mirror ours! I do remember seeing your cute grandson onboard…very few little ones and he reminded me of mine back at home!

  5. Oh my goodness, too funny about your dinner mates in Murano…gotta wonder what makes these people think their behaviour is appropriate anywhere much less in a more fine dining establishment 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷‍♀️. Hopefully the food and service made up for this.
This is the tour we’ve booked in Stavanger…how far from the ship is the tour boat? Easy to find? I loved your scenery shots in the first fjord but I’m sure we’ll enjoy today’s journey as well…glad to see at least one waterfall there!

The scenery was beautiful traveling from the port to the fjord too!

My fellow Ontario people: doesn’t the end of this video look like it could have been taken on Georgian bay or any of the area’s lakes?

As former Barrie residents this could’ve been recorded in the 30,000 islands for sure! Are you really in Norway? 😉😂😂

Sounds like we’ve the same excursion booked in Stavanger as you…looking forward to seeing your pics and reading your thoughts! 🥂

  7. I’m also very sorry this happened to you and glad that so far you’re getting the assistance that you need. Just a tip for the crutches, wrap and tie a thick towel around the bar at the top to make a bit of a cushion for your armpits…might help relieve some of that soreness. Good luck and hope you can enjoy your remaining days on the ship.

  8. Murano sounds delicious! We’ll do Tuscan our first night (discount!) and Murano later in the cruise…looking forward to the Chateaubriand 😋

Question regarding your time in Amsterdam. When you used transit, had you bought a OV card or did you just tap on and off with your credit card? I’m hoping to use my ApplePay from my phone..

  9. Can you ask your wife if there’s a ladder of some sort to get back onto the tender from snorkeling? The water looks fairly calm and tho I’m not a strong swimmer I’m comfortable snorkeling in deep water especially with a dive suit and snorkel vest. I do float pretty well 😂. I’d hate to miss all the snorkeling due to not being a strong swimmer but of course would abide by any rules or guidelines. Thank you!

I had purchased  a backup pair on Ebay just in case.    I've been using every night on the cruise.  I often only use one with my other ear buried in a pillow.

Will be interesting to see how the new ones work out.    They are also coming with 2  sleep sound and relaxation sites with a  one year free subscription

Add me to the club of Sleepbuds fans…every night or I don’t sleep, also often wonder what I’d do if they started to fail…your review can’t come soon enough lol. Keeping my fingers crossed that they work well for you and come with a positive recommendation and don’t break my bank 😬

Thanks for the update and as well for this wonderful blog!
