We have that same itinerary with San Juan - short amount of time. We are thinking of doing the zip lining to keep the kids entertained - has anyone done that??

I noticed no smells the entire time other than some funk in our bathroom. I also never smelled anything the other times we have been on the Magic. I do know a lot of people complain about it on the lower decks, we have only ever stayed on decks 7 and 8. I will say this time, on the first day, the bathroom had a weird smell, like heavy cleaner that wasn't exactly clean, but by the end of the evening, the smell was gone, and it didn't bother me. I took a deviation to the second deck accidentally and noticed nothing. In the page on that other social network people were complaining about terrible smells, I just never experienced it myself.
Thanks so much for the info!! We did book a Cove Balcony - only because I had one on the Breeze and LOVED it! I can't really be in the sun unless I'm in water or shade. I get very sick quickly in the sun so my thought was I could sit on the balcony even in the heat of the day and still have an abundance of shade with the cove balcony. Maybe I should re-think that and move up??? Not sure what to do on that one - but LOVING your review so far!

Following - we are going on the Magic for 8 days in June. So excited! Some reviews speak of horrible smells. Did you have much of that?

We are going in June and I decided to go in with friends and we just booked a room at this resort. I know you can get beach chairs for $10 but with renting the room for the day we have full resort amenities, which includes beach chairs with umbrellas, spa, pool, etc. We paid $154 each (2 adults and 1 kid in each party). The owner said since we were just coming for the day we could all 6 have access to a room so we would have a place to leave our stuff and shower off prior to returning to the ship. This may end up being a huge waste of $$ but I like the idea of having access to all the amenities the hotel offers.

We are on this same itinerary in June - I have done a TON of research and this is what we have came up with:
St. Martin - Captain Bob's - he stops at Maho Beach and his tour is ranked #1.
St. Kitts - Mad Max Dune Buggy Tour - It also has excellent reviews and you have beach time included after the tour so you can spend a couple hours at the beach as well.
San Juan - We are doing the zip line tour - I have been to San Juan and I'm not big on forts or walking around Old San Juan - so we opted for the Zip Line on this day as well.
Grand Turk - we ended up renting a room at Bohio Resort for the day - I know you can go for $10 rental fee but with that you get none of the resort amenities. So we decided to book a room to share with our friends so that we can have access to the pool and all the hotel amenities for the day.
This is a great itinerary and we are looking very forward to it. If you end up doing the zip lining in San Juan PLEASE let me know which one you booked and how it is.
Thanks!

You can easily walk over to either San Cristobal or El Morro forts. San Cristobal is closest to port, El Morro is bigger and more impressive for kids. Also you can buy an inexpensive kite or two at CVS across the street from the ship or near El Morro and fly them in the fort's front lawn area, which is a very popular kids activity there. You can walk back from the fort and browse the stores on your way back. Try to stop at the bottom end of Calle del Cristo at the Parque de las Palomas (pigeon park) where for $1 you can buy a bag of corn or peas to feed the pigeons there. They literally will eat from their hands!! The guy who sell the bags also has hand sanitizer on hand to help the kids clean up afterwards. If you want to maximize time, take a quick taxi ride to the fort and walk on your way back.
We are also there from 7 until 1. Short time frame and traveling with our 13 year old so we were thinking about the Zip Line Canopy Tour. Any experience with that?

Has anyone done this tour? There are not many reviews on it and we are cruising next summer. We have limited time in San Juan only 7:30 to 2:00 p.m. We are trying to do excursions that will keep our 13 year old happy and entertained. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!! -
Are the water toys included now? I just went to the Blue Lagoon website and didn't see where you can purchase to use the water toys?

When do reservations for the escape room and private lessons open up? Do you know?

Our friends are going on an Alaskan cruise through Holland America. They have asked us to join them. I am platinum with Carnival and RCCL and have also sailed Disney. We LOVE the Caribbean and the beach. So Alaska has always been more at the bottom of our list. We usually vacation together so that our kids have each other to play with, etc. They have a work bonus that's going to take them r/t Vancouver on a Holland America Cruise. Yay for them!! So my question to you all is......Are the kids going to enjoy this cruise? Is it worth the large amount of $ we are going to pay to go to Alaska? Just some insight and help would be great! Also excursion costs? Obviously we want the best excursions with the expectation that it will be our only trip to Alaska as we are hoping for future Med cruises, etc. Any insight and help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so very much!! The kids are obviously used to RCCL and Disney so I just want to make certain this will be worth it. Thanks!

I'm excited for your review. I have booked for July 1, 2019 which feels like a lifetime away. Looking forward to it!

So can I call my kids via face time or with wifi over iphone?? Not needing a long conversation just need to check in with them.
-
Well.....we are in your same situation. We only have a short window for a cruise this year (adults only) and we ended up choosing 3 day Enchantment. It is a 7 hour drive for us as well and we are platinum with Carnival so we may regret our choice but we haven't sailed with RCCL since 2006 so we wanted to change it up a bit. HOWEVER, if my husband had the xtra day to take a Thursday to Monday cruise we would have chosen the JAX cruise vs. driving that far for 3 days. We are leaving Thursday night and wont get to port canaveral until about 1:00 a.m. and then the long drive home.

We have a group going to Blue Lagoon June 5th for the beach day. My dad has COPD and doesn't need to sit directly in the sun for a long period of time. Are there very shaded areas where he could come with us and enjoy the day with us in the shade? Also, is the food area/restaurant air conditioned so that he could go in there if need be?? Does the ferry run all day so he could leave if he needed to? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Loving your review!! Can't wait for more!

Just returned and used Marysol Tours for our ATV experience. All emails were promptly answered and Marysol greeted us outside the gate when we arrived to the port. The ATV adventure lasted about 2 1/2 hours, which you do stop at a few locations. My entire family loved this excursion and would do this again through Marysol. The ATVs had only about 25 miles on them, which they told us we were the first to drive them. If we would like to see the country side and great views of the country while driving ATVs I highly recommend Marysol and this tour.
Was it dusty?? Just need to make sure before we book due to breathing issues. Thanks

We are interested in this cruise for June. My parents will also be along for the ride and my dad has some breathing issues so we have a couple of questions. Is there a shaded area at the beach he can sit at so he isn't in the direct sun and just how bumpy are the roads. Is it bumpy all the time or just in a few spots? I have read excellent reviews and really want to take this excursion but am a bit concerned with how bumpy it is and also is it very dusty with it being an open air truck? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Anything on deck 7 is a good room. Deck 7 is the best deck to be on as far as noise, etc. I love being near the elevators

Crystal Booking transferred to Experience
in Celestyal Cruises
Posted
I think all Crystal sailings were moved to Experience. Our cruise was also moved and I have my cabin number. This is a very exciting upgrade in ships! This is my first experience with Celestyal. Have any of you ever sailed with them before and if so, how was it?
