I am going to purchase the Cheers package for our upcoming cruise next year and not worry about the cost. It is a vacation. I plan on spending money. I have also found that not only on a cruise but anywhere you buy drinks, tipping does help. I don't care if it is on a ship, in a hotel bar or a restaurant, tip the staff a little extra and they will remember you. I know some people say that you shouldn't have to tip extra and don't like to tip at all but my entire family at some time or another has worked in the restaurant field and yes I did remember those who tipped and my son who just got out of the field also mentioned by name a lot of those he knew that tipped well. It is not only drinks but all aspects of the cruise. People appreciate the little extras just as most of the members here do also. You remember the wait staff who were extra attentive, the room attendant who went above and beyond, and yes the bartender to was quick to serve you, so you can expect them to remember you also. Go on the cruise and have a good time. Spend money or not but just always be nice. Remember everyone can have a bad day. Rant over.
Yup tips help NOT I was tipping 1 to 2 a dollars per drink I am always nice to my servers one brought me a extra glass "wink wink" of clear liquid to add to my cocktail after he left my wife tasted it, guess what it was water he got a $5 dollar tip!!

It's not misleading. The rules of Cheers are clearly stated on their website and have been discussed in many threads here. Their website with Cheers rules specifically states no floaters. If you were unaware, it was because you did not inform yourself before you purchased. It's not like it's bait and switch marketing.
You're free to just not purchase Cheers, or to sail NCL and Royal if you don't like Carnival's policies.

No but stating that you can get drinks up to $50 sure is misleading, no matter what is discussed on Cruise Critic threads that I have not read! Not being able to get a stiff drink unless you drink an actual shot has not been discussed! Yes I will cancel the prepurchased Cheers package for my next cruise on the Vista as why buy something that will just aggravate me! I am Advising others not to purchase the Cheers package because yes it is not a good value !!!!! no matter how many of you Carnival Trolls respond negatively to my posts
-
This has been discussed many times. Many people order a shot/floater then order the main drink five minutes later. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

It might have been discussed but when Carnival promotes (as Mr Heald has stated) drinks up to $50 it is misleading !
Especially when NCL & Royal have no such restrictions on there drinks or limit the amount of beverages you may have daily!
Again Shame on Carnival!

Just an update was on the Glory this past April had the Cheers package. Yes it paid for my specialty coffee but when it comes to alcoholic beverages it is awful! I don't care about a 15 drink limit (which is a Carnival only idea) but I could not get a floater on frozen drinks or a double! The drinks were weak & short shoted in my opinion! If I ordered a Rum & Coke it came in a plastic cup smaller than if I just ordered a Coke! In my opinion Carnival should be ashamed of itself!

[quote name='Biker19']Thank you - it was tough role.[/QUOTE]
No Problem, you play it well! -
I don't know but at this point 8 out of the 25 ships have it confirmed as available.
Loved you in the Hobbit!:rolleyes:
-
The RCI marketing may make you think so, but, the reality on most ships is that it is not available.
So it is easier to find Trolls on Cruise Critic than Voom on RCI ! rofl

As all ships got Voom this month I guess it was not as hard to install as some posted! [emoji33][emoji13][emoji869]

Just imagine embarkation eeee
I've been on the Oasis & Allure 2x booked on Harmony next April. Embarkation is not the problem it's Disembarkation that can be painful ! [emoji33]

If you're going to fly in the day of the cruise book the airfare through the cruise line and buy the trip insurance through the cruise line then you're protected !

If you ask me its stunning. Combine this with the largest ship in the world title and this could become a huge marketing tool.
I love it!
Looks better from the rear Quarter & Profile than the first pick posted. Assuming it would be for the US market to avoid having to install high efficiency diesel engine's with scrubber's to meet the EPA coastal emission standards.

In other news,,,Carnival Vista has left the building dock in Monfalcone
From post No 17 with the interior pics of Vista.
20 days until the first paid sailing of Vista, tomorrow evening the ship will leave Monfalcone to go out on the Official Carnival sea trials, the previous ones were carried out by the Fincantiri.
Were on the Vista for Xmas have a Havana Cabana Suite!:D

Finally found where I had seen the 7,000 passenger figure quoted for the new ship class, it is on the mscfans.it website in the press release. Any have any idea how safe LNG is ?
Basically the same as an LP Gas grill! Highly volatile worse than gasoline which is worse than Diesel. Im not a Chemical engineer but I am sure that there is a volatility chart out there.

This could be it. It's an STX Prototype and similar dimensions.
Hopefully not it pretty UGLY! IMHO
-
Meanwhile seaside appears to be forgotten about.
I would not worry about the Seaside as 2017 is 5 years before we see the 1st World Class & as to making it bigger that a Royal Oasis Class, I would bet on it happening!

A set of satellite antennae were first installed on Oasis in early 2014.
Again they had high speed internet on the Allure in February 2012 and for New Years 13/14 Voom or not I paid for it I used it! It was awesome
-
FYI, I dont even think Voom was existent when Navigator and Adventure had their dry docks.
2014 & 2015 ? You bet it was! Maybe it was not called Voom yet, but it was in existence. I had a stay logged on Family internet package on the Allure in 2012 and again for NYE 2013-2014 we had the 2 device plan, and on the Oasis last February. Both were awesome!

A few short years ago this whole post would be pointless. Your on vacation. Put your devices away and embrace being unplugged for a week. The cruise community can read your review after the cruise not during. Your Facebook friends, buisiness associates and even yor kids will be fine for a week without you!
I posted a question on Internet upgrades not what is good or bad for me! I would never tell you what you need or do not need!

We were just off of Adventure & they were in drydock April 2014 & there internet is awful! We have 2 Royal cruises booked for next year 1 is on Navigator which was just in drydock & was not upgraded to Voom!
-
Okay for your point, Jewel, a Radiance class ship, first sailed in 2004. Mariner, a Voyager class ship, first sailed in 2003.
Okay back to my original point I think RCCI could do this much faster and no need to wait for drydock!
-
They have finished wiring all the ships? I know they were working on the Jewel this past fall. The newer ships were built with pervasive WIFI, all the older ships were being wired as they only had hotspots on the ships.
Okay for your point at least the Voyager Class & newer!
-
How is it a simple upgrade? They have to wire the whole ship.
All of the ships are wired for wifi, it's the satellite receiver & router that would need replacing.
-
Why is Royal Caribbean taking so long to roll out Voom Internet to all of it's ships? This should be a simple upgrade that could be done at sea, and does not need to be lumped in with ships dry dock schedule !
