  1. We just finished a cruise on the Celebrity Infinity and my granddaughter loves the shampoo provided in the pump bottle in the shower. Does anyone recall the brand name of the shampoo? If anyone reading this is currently sailing, will you please check and respond. I assume the same brand is used on all Celebrity ships. We were in a Concierge class balcony cabin. Thank you!

  2. We 5 are spending 2 days post cruise in Athens. This will be a first visit for 3 in our group. Do you recommend we use the Metro to get to/from the main sites or should we travel on the HopOn/HopOff? Are Metro stations close to main sights such as the Olympic Stadium, the Ancient and Roman agora’s, the Parthenon, the Archeological Museum, etc and without us crossing major street arteries on foot?

  3. Ski WW, Marazul, and Mrspaper, have you all been on your cruises that stop in Nafplio? If so, is there a good private company or driver you recommend to use for a tour to Epidaurus Theater and/or Mycenae ruins? Are there reliable drivers one can meet at the port or should any tour/driver be booked in advance? Is it easy to walk to Nafplio from the pier? Thanks for any help and insight you can share from your experiences.

  4. We will be in Nafplion from 9 am to 7 pm on June 16. Can anyone recommend a good private tour group/driver/company you have experienced that can give five of us a tour of both Mycenae and Epidaurus. Is this a tender port? Is Nafplion walkable for sighseeing?  I appreciate any information anyone can share who has been to this port. I am really late in the planning for this cruise, I know!

You probably should confirm with Celebrity where they will meet you.  Hopefully others will chime in to give you past experiences.  I'm pretty sure in past years, it was at Tronchetto.

I've attached a Google Maps photo of the People Mover station on Tronchetto.  You can see a large bus parking lot directly beside it.  I think it's safe to assume the buses would be waiting there for departure to Ravenna.

Thank you for sharing this great photo. I have learned that there should be a Celebrity agent at the terminal.

  6. We have booked the bus shuttle Celebrity offers from the Venice City Center to Ravenna for our cruise in June. Where exactly do we meet the Celebrity agent and the bus---at the Piazzale Roma or at the Tronchetto? If at the Tronchetto, does someone know the exact location and if it is close to the People Mover? Thanks for any specific information from anyone who has used this transportation.

  7. I am sailing in a Prime Concierge category on the Infinity June 10 and received the Move Up Offer email yesterday. Minimum bids have been set high--$800 for Aqua and $2700 for Sky Suite. Now there is a category offer called "common.offer.upgrade.type.IN2.MINI_SUITE_LARGE." Minimum bid is $100. Has anyone seen this in a Move Up offer before? I called Celebrity today and asked what it was for and  the rep told me it was for a Sky Suite bid. That makes no sense to me since Sky Suite has its own category bid. Anyone have any idea what I would be bidding for in this category? Is this just a software glitch?

We are sailing on the Infinity June 10, and I just received an email about Move Up offer today. We are currently booked in a Prime Concierge C1 category cabin and we have an opportunity to bid to move up to a “common.offer.upgrade.type. IN2 MINI SUITE LARGE” along with Aqua, Sky Suite, Royal Suite and Celebrity Suite categories. What is this common offer Mini Suite Large about? Thanks for any insight. I have never seen this offered in the Move Up program before,

I asked a Celebrity customer service rep today about the above Move Up offer (MINI SUITE LARGE) and she told me that it was an offer to move up to a Sky Suite. Based on the minimum bid price suggested, that doesn't make sense, especially since there is a Sky Suite bid category at a much higher minimum price bid. Has anyone else seen a move up offer like this?

  9. I have to agree with Frenchkona. The varied menu and beautiful presentations are unique to Eden and everything we have had has been prepared to perfection--unlike any restaurant we have ever experienced. At Fine Cut, my medium filet mignon was overcooked, but I know that was unique to the night we were there. Fine Cut on the Edge does have outdoor seating, but we were on a TA crossing and it was too cold and too windy to have the outdoor area open. Also, on the Edge the location of Fine Cut is open to the Atrium, so the restaurant can be noisy if you want to have a table conversation. You may have to compete with the atrium entertainment to be heard.

  11. Today after I registered for this week's Celebrity sweepstakes Wonderverse promo that was emailed to Captain's Club members, I was denied access to the sweepstakes with a message that said "Server Unavailable." Did anyone else have trouble accessing the contest site? Did the sweepstakes server crash? Just wondering...

  12. Cruisemom42 and Redwings1958, thank you both for your recommendations. One more question as I finally try to pull this trip together ( and am doing this much later than usual for me): From your experiences, do  either of you have hotel recommendations for Venice in the mid price range? We were there 12 years ago and stayed at the Hilton Molino Stuckey, but this time we have our children and granddaughter (17) traveling  with us and are looking for a moderately priced hotel ($100 to no more than $200) per night. Thanks!

I boarded Constellation in Ravenna last October, after having flown in from Venice the day before. Celebrity offered shuttles to Ravenna from Venice for a reasonable price (considering that it is a two-hour drive). I believe the cost was around $58 USD. The shuttles depart from either the airport (if you are flying in on the day of the cruise -- not recommended) or from an area convenient to Venice proper, e.g., Tronchetto, a parking/transportation area easily reached by taking the People Mover from Piazzale Roma.

I read about the shuttle here but as you say Celebrity was not super helpful. My TA booked it for me.

Thanks so much for this information. Do you recall the time of morning it leaves? Did you feel you arrived at the ship with plenty of time to get settled before sailaway?

  14. I have read that RCCL has shuttle transportation from Venice to the port of Ravenna the day of the ship's scheduled departure. I haven't seen anything about the shuttle service being offered by Celebrity even though they are owned by RCCL. Does anyone know if Celebrity offers this service? If so, does the shuttle leave from the airport or the Venice City Center? I appreciate any information anyone can share. Thanks.

  15. Does anyone know if RCI or Celebrity or a private company offer service from Bologna to Ravenna the morning of the cruise? Our cruise leaves from Ravenna in June. We have been to Venice and would really like to visit Bologna pre-cruise. I have also read that the Bologna airport is closer than the Venice airport  to the port. Thanks for any suggestions.

  16. We are flying to Marseille on Delta through Amsterdam on April 19, this month. We will be on Air France from AMS-MRS. I have tried 3 times recently to upload our vaccination information on Delta Fly Ready and I constantly get an ERROR message that says I can't upload. I know we are up-to-date on our vaccination requirements at the moment, so I will just take all documentation when I check in on our flight. Much can change between now and when you travel, so I wouldn't get too worried about Delta's unreliable FLy Ready program, as long as you know you are meeting all requirements and allow yourself enough time when you check in for your flights.

  17. After our experience flying into CDG in October, the concierge cost may be worth it. We did arrive early morning with 3 or 4 other full flights. We were in the immigration arrival hall for 2 1/2 hours because there were only 3 immigration booths open with more than 600 people to process. About half of us missed connecting flights, including us. We had scheduled 3 hours between our arrival and departing connection. Air France did a beautiful job of handling the re-scheduling nightmare, but we ended up sitting in CDG for 5 hours waiting for the next flight. Hopefully, the number of people working immigration has improved.

I don't have enough points for the Intercontinental yet.  I used up points for one of the Kimptons in Seattle the other year so I'm building them back.  Plus, I don't need a suite - I'll probably get in the room, crash and wake up the next day!!

We feel the same way about paying for either a suite or for staying at the Intercontinental. We just need a place that is clean with a comfortable bed. We made reservations at Maisons du Monde.
