  1. Enjoying this thread. I too am considering Australia New Zealand cruise March 30th of Ovation. Looking at this airfare for business class on delta....its steep my friends. 2 people from Fort Lauderdale is 13k. And this is leaving and returning on a tuesday. The supposed cheapest day of the week. Not sure I can wait to cyber monday to book airfare on this one.

  2. What do you guys think about Cabins 8518 or 8522 forward. They seem low enough to not be obstructed by the pilot perch view that sticks out up on deck 12. Its really far forward obviously. Also considering 12714 back by the concierge lounge to be close to it. Two completely different locations. Just curious any ones thoughts.

  3. The Concierge Lounge on the Ovation is amazing. It has full height glass windows that run the entire width of the ship. The only thing that stops it being perfect is the long walk down the corridor after a few drinks on the way to dinner.

Thanks. I was just looking at the deck plan for the concierge lounge. So its on Deck 12 at the very aft of the ship it looks like. The only way to get there is midship on deck 12 through all the cabins that line the hallway?? This seems like an odd place.

  4. I was on Jewel in September and do remember getting into port pretty early. We had a flight from Rome to Atlanta I believe around 12:30. Bypassed the 10:30 am flight as we did not want to risk it. Are you diamond or suite? Talk to those concierges (give them a tip) and they will get you off the boat as quick as they can.....7am would be a reasonable time to expect.

Remember...you are on vacation. Don't stress yourself out on times. If you are concerned go with later flights.

  5. Well I just called club royale and this all is indeed true! I gave every reason why it was not right and they do not give a damn. Period.

I asked about taking the cruise fare off to get the double points and it would drive my rate up $2500 so I of course said no. But news flash.......though I thank you for the discounted fare which i earned I won't be gambling on the cruise so I give the big "FU" to RC. You probably lost 3-5k right there. Ill be taking a few more cruises on your dime too but i'm done being loyal. Celebrity here i come.

  6. Ah great. After doing my research we are going to rent a bike in the town of Skagen and bike out to Grenen and then go to the sanded church. Have you been here? I expect the answer is yes. Can you recommend any can't miss restaurants for a seafood lunch? Any other advice?

    Thank you

  7. It's a great price for those who would have drinks all night for example partying after the lounge hours or during the day on a sea day at pool deck. I've bought each time before on prev cruises when available but not this time. The service from Ravi in the CL second to none on any CL... He had drinks waiting for us and would replenish even before we were finished the first drink. Truth be told one night we missed the magician headliner (luckily for us as we were told It was awful) and sat in the outer court of the CL with drinks so didn't need any after that. Last night we cancelled MTD all together and stayed In the CL eating apples and veggies (we were too full from out excursion) until 8pm music trivia so again no need for the card. Today sea day we can use our D+ BOGO and so forth if needed. We still have a bottle of wine in our room to pour a glass also.

Btw, both my gf and I walked in together at embarkation with 2 bottles of wine each... We walked in directly next to each other, through the the same scanner and guards... They didn't say a thing. So we could've had a 4 bottles this cruise, get off at Civitavecchia, and prob bring back another 4 bottles.

Thats what I'm thinking. Except for the 2 sea days most time is gonna be spent in port and then getting back. Going to CL for drinks until dinner at 8:30 and then bed. We are still diamond so I don't think we have that BOGO free offer yet. Good to know about the wine. We will get two bottles pre cruise in Rome for sure.

Watching this Hurricane Irma stirring out in the Atlantic!

  8. Yes you are correct. Sicily/ Mykonos/Santorini/Rhodes/Athens/Naples.

I love how your cruise is essentially backing right up to mine. You get off and I get on....the 10th. Your cruise makes it ever so closer. Looking forward to your review. I will be staying at the Albergo del Senato right next to the Pantheon for 3 days prior to the cruise.

I wasnt going to do the Borghese and opt for a tour of the travestere area but perhaps I will reconsider that.

I hope you have a great cruise!
