@STEVE-O would you mind sharing the text of the email?
I just noticed that Radiance is still moored in Vancouver, it's got to get steaming soon if it's going to make it to Seward on Friday. Seems it will take a solid 2.5 days at 25 knots.
Hoping for the best
The cruise on Friday is a northbound from Vancouver to Seward. Apart from the email last night that we are good to go, we had two emails with check in/ boarding information.

Thanks for this. That is what I was hoping for.Corinna

We will cruise Radiance next month. This will be our second of the smaller Royal Caribbean ships. As much as we loved Splendour of the Seas, we found it surprising that the only drink station for included drinks like ice tea, lemonade, etc. was inside the Windjammer. Is this the same on Radiance or are there other drink stations available?

Ironically prior to the recent dry dock, Rita’s was not listed under the bars on Radiance, but when I was looking for a bar menu on the app today, it was suddenly showing.

How long is the 'usual' contract for a CD? 10 weeks-2/3months?
I am not sure if this is still the case as there seem to be so many different timelines about, but it used to be four months for the main cruise director and two months for the cruise director that filled in at vacation time.Corinna

OK totally understand! So right now we have Anthem in limbo and no place for Ovation.... interesting!👍😁
And Quantum for that matter. After the 2025 Alaska season, only Anthem appears to be doing a transpacific to Australia. I wonder if Quantum is heading back to Singapore.

Serve some decent free coffee. I don’t want a fancy coffee every time I am in need of some caffeine. I very happily drink filter coffee, but the stuff they serve is an assault on the tastebuds.

Include internet for all GS and up across the fleet...not just certain ones.
And while I'm hoping for something. Hiring some good Bakers that know how to do some great desserts fleet wide. There was one on Harmony (April 2022) but I'm sure RCI made a mistake when they hired him !!!!
I think that baker may have moved to Symphony for the summer and then Navigator for the winter. The desserts were actually edible. I was shocked when to Pistachio Pound Cake on Navigator actually tasted of Pistachio. Now, Ovation on the other hand, as much as I love this ship, the desserts should win a “special award” for how somebody can create something that bad.Corinna

San Pedro would be better cause it's in the middle between San Diego & San Francisco and has LAX as well as a couple of smaller airports that can serve this area.
Disclaimer....San Pedro is my home port 😉
I would much prefer San Pedro. We live in the U.K., but have some very dear friends in Long Beach and Orange County. There also is the pull of Disneyland. However, if San Diego made things easier to bring a Quantum class ship to California, I would make it work somehow. If Ovation is coming to California (or Quantum for that matter), I intend to book for May 2025 on opening day.Corinna

Navigator is the only Royal ship that has it currently.
According to the Royal Caribbean website, Odyssey, Wonder and Icon do as well.Corinna

Ovation will have to have shore power connections installed to sail out of LA for more then 5 cruises. Navigator had it installed while in dry dock in Portugal prior to coming to LA.
Would San Diego be an option?

A way to work out the movement of the ships between America and Australia is to look at some of the port bookings. You might get a hint of what ship could go to California.
Having a look a Tahiti port bookings and which ship moving through there .

Ovation and Quantum doing the transpacific to Alaska
And only Anthem Returning to Australia after the Alaska season.
The Question is what happens to Ovation and Quantum?
Rumours are Ovation is going to Europe and Quantum is going to California.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Europe 2025 has already been confirmed and does not feature either Quantum or Ovation. The fact that Ovation is doing a Transpacific indicates that she is destined to spend at least the summer on the west coast. We also know Quantum and Anthem are heading for Alaska.
Regarding the winter season, I had heard that Quantum was heading to Sydney and Voyager to Brisbane. It now looks it is Anthem that is heading to Sydney. That probably means that Quantum is heading back to Singapore. Both ships had dry docks since they were pulled out of Asia. Ovation had all the Chinese signage removed, Quantum had not.

Would Ovation be able to tender everyone in Cabo, though? I don't know what capacity is on Quantum class ships. ☺️
Quantum class ships visit a wide range of tender ports. I have tendered in Phuket on Quantum and in Santorini on Odyssey and it was a surprisingly smooth process. For a big chunk of last year’s Alaska season, Quantum had to tender in Skagway and that port is not really set up for tendering.

Ever since it was announced that Anthem and Quantum will be sailing out of Seattle during the summer, I had the strong feeling that Ovation is heading for LA. It also looks like that Quantum is replacing Ovation in Sydney with Voyager taking over from Quantum in Brisbane. It would not make sense sending Ovation to Florida with three new ships there. I suppose Ovation could head back to Asia, but that just does not sit right with me. I suppose time will tell.

Rob McNally is from Liverpool and I am sure he has been on Voyager before.

Katie is a superstar. We first met her on Ovation in 2018 when she was cruise director’s staff. We then bumped into her again on Explorer in 2019 when she was activities manager. She is full of energy and a genuinely nice person. I hope we get to cruise with her again soon.

What ever happened to Graham Seymour!? Loved Loved that guy!
We were on the one of the last cruises before he retired in 2017. He briefly came out of retirement in 2019 and we were supposed to have him for our Baltic cruise, but he left during the cruise before ours due to an emergency. I don’t think he has been back since.Corinna

If Joff is on the WC I wonder who will take over from him on Ovation as Brian Leavitt will be on Brilliance sept-January so will be due a holiday! Who else does Australia?
This year it was Mike Hunnerup on Quantum and Steve Knisley on Ovation.Corinna

Thanks for the heads up! Aside from HiRO, were there any other water shows like Aqua Nation on your sailing?
Yes, AquaNation was shown twice in the afternoon of the last day. I did not go to see this.

We got off Symphony on Sunday. Iskate 2.0 was shown twice on the last day. I went to the earlier show and there were still spare seats. I got there about 20 minutes before show time and had my pick of front row seats.

Thanks for this. We occasionally had to pay a Dollar or two extra for a glass of wine if it went over the allowance. However, there were alternatives available that would have been included.
