Hi Corinna  is the lounge a suite lounge or a concierge lounge and can junior suite guests use coastal kitchen   Thanks

The lounge seems to have an identity crisis. On the sign posts it says Suite Lounge and on the door it says concierge lounge. Our concierge did say yesterday that the lounge is available for Diamond +, Pinnacles and suite guests. I will ask at Coastal Kitchen tonight if it is available to Junior Suites for dinner.

Have any of the public areas been redecorated?

ideally I’d like to see pics of coastal kitchen, concierge lounge and anything else that takes your fancy!

Everything looks fresh and new. There is also some new art on some of the landings. Concierge Lounge I have. Coastal Kitchen I will get tomorrow.

Have a wonderful cruise today, Corinna!  Please do update if the Grand Suites have complimentary internet and other Sky class perks.  We received the email from our genie this morning so Star Class is in place together with complimentary specialty dining (although not sure if we still have to pay for iFly and 270) so it will be interesting to see what perks are included for the Grand Suites.

We do have complimentary internet. Enjoyed our lunch in Coastal Kitchen and are now chilling in the Concierge Lounge.

Thank you!  Would you be able to report on whether the Royal Suite Class system is in effect for Jr Suites and above please?

I hope you have a wonderful time on the Quantum!

Royal Suite Class is in operation. We had a flyer in the cabin listing all the Sky class benefits.

Will do. We are on board now, but can’t get into our cabin yet.

Hi Corinna. I'm considering booking the Quantum in March for a short 5 night Malaysia cruise. After disembarkation we plan to fly directly to India for a 1 week land tour. Do you happen to know how early disembarkation is? I'm trying to find out what's the earliest flight I can book. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Usually the ship gets in at 7:00. If you self-disembark, you should be able to get off by 8. From midday onwards would be ideal, but anything after 11:00 should be doable, especially if you are able to do online check in.

Quantum of the seas has just come out of dry dock and I was wondering if anyone is on board that can answer my questions please.

Do they have the asian/canadian/american cruise director? I think his name is Chang or Fang, I have had him on 2 previous cruises and he isnt my cup of tea.

Are all the shows and trivia in chinese? Im looking at booking a cruise for early January and it says that its a "culturally enriched" cruise.

Are they still charging for the use of the ifly and other attractions, just because its "culturally enriched", as they did before dry dock?

Thank you in advance if anyone can help.

Fang Lixin is the regular cruise director on Spectrum.

i am getting on Quantum on Monday and they do charge for North Star and iFly in my cruise planner.

Even when we sailed out Shanghai on Quantum during the last two years, there were plenty of activities including trivia in English. I can’t comment on the shows as I rarely bother with those.

I will report back with more details once I am on the ship.

Just checked our cruise planner for our Feb trip and IFLY is now available to book at a cost of £22.04. This is for a 9 night cruise so looks like they have decided they will be charging despite what they said a few months ago. Still no sign of North Star.

I have the opposite. North Star is now showing up for me for the 25th November sailing for just over £6, but no sign of IFLY.

Here's the weird thing: I am unable to modify or cancel pending bid, and am unable to rebid on expired bids.  When I go to the direct URL for Royal Up and enter my name and confirmation number, it says I am ineligible for upgrade.  Weird all around.

I had the same happening last week Monday and then last Wednesday morning I had the email that my bid was successful.

Yea.. Hope there's more than just that, it won't be another five years till we see another change. By then she'll be a decade old. It'll be sad if Royal doesn't plan to amplify the whole Quantum class given how modern the ships still are. But once they age, new ideas pop up.

Quantum, Anthem and Ovation were never on the list of the ships that will be amplified even though all of them have a dry dock during the time frame of the amplified program.

Another fresh off Quantum on what was our first & probably last RCI cruise.

Not sure I would believe anything that RCI tell you before your cruise in that in the weeks & days preceding our departure we were still getting messages about plans to charge for Northstar,I-Fly,etc,all of which changed, messages about the Cultural diversity on board & how announcements & introductions about entertainment would be made in Mandarin, the diverse food to be expected to cater for the large Chinese contingent on board, what a load of rubbish,Oriental passengers were in a serious minority, the vast majority were of a Western nature or Australian from what we saw & heard, the food was largely what I would expect from a normal RCI cruise with a few exceptions & charges for activities were dropped, curously enough when we first got on board there was still a sign outside the Pub inviting passengers to try the fish dish which, along with,I believe,Chicken Feet, had been a favourite with the Chinese, that vanished, never to be seen again, how they can have not known where the majority of passengers were coming from well before departure I really don't know,I got the overwhelming impression that they make it up as they go along!

Diamond lounge was the upstairs part of the Music Hall as shown by some very smart pieces of paper!

Thanks about the info about the Diamond Lounge. I think we will give this a miss as on this cruise, we will have access to both the Diamond Lounge and the Concierge Lounge.

There has been nowhere to book ifly/North Star on our planner either paid or free. There is the option to book dinner in the Solarium Bistro for £26. It sounds like things may change cruise to cruise after drydock!

To anyone who has seen the deck plan post drydock, is the Concierge lounge changing to a Suite lounge? Hoping it won't but expecting that it will :classic_biggrin:

This is still showing as Concierge Lounge. The only change that I have detected is on deck 5 and that is that the Shore Excursion area and the Japanese pharmacy have switched places.

    Hi

We just got off the quantum, the solarium was open for all guests as she has left Chinese waters, the Northstar and Ifly was also complimentary, the crew we spoke with did say this would remain the case while she sailed out of Singapore.

That is interesting. Earlier in the summer, I saw a press release from Royal Caribbean stating that with the effect of the 16th November, they will charge for North Star, etc. On sailings from Singapore, but that this does not apply for cruises of 9 nights or more or repositioning cruises. I can no longer find the original press release, but it is referenced on a number of third party sites. I also remember that back in late spring/ early summer two different paid for North Star options were available on my cruise planner for the 25th November sailing. I wonder if they had a change of heart.

Do you know what provisions were made for Diamond and higher Crown and Anchor Society members? Quantum does not have a Diamond Lounge and looking at the new deck plans, there still won’t be one after dry dock.
