  1. This is why I love this forum....I go and have dinner and come back and have plenty of responses!!! Thank you so very much to all of you who answered me. I learned that I could have breakfast in the Pinnacle grill with the Neptune suite, I did not know that, however on the Zandaam, the Pinnacle grill doesn't have outside windows so it makes it less interesting. It is funny because it is built similar to the Veendam-Maasdam and Ryndam which all have wonderful views in the Pinnacle.

My option will depend on if my parents come with me or not. If they do, we will book a guaranteed veranda and if I am by myself, I will have to decide between the two. I did not think of booking the veranda and being offered the neptune as an upgrade. It would probably be less than if I booked the neptune as a guaranteed like I could right now.

I will have to decide in the next couple of days....All your answers were very wise:)

  2. Hi guys...I am approaching the end of my sabbatical leave and wanted to splurge on a Neptune suite, if one is available for a not too astronomical price of course! I am a single woman in her forties traveling alone and though I do not need the space of the suite, I like the little attentions they write that I would be able to have. I even saw a cocktail reception with the officers. Is this true or is this depending on the cruises?

What is there in the Neptune lounge that can't be had somewhere else on the ship?

Are the hors d'oeuvres served in your cabin any good...high tea?

I am not a very social person so I like the time by myself and the bigger balcony is an incentive also. Between the usual veranda balcony and the lanai, I prefer the lanai because of the open concept. Is the balcony in the Neptune suite worth the price?

I am trying to watch pictures from Joanie's suite but it seems to be down. I haven't been there in a while. Is it still active?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

  3. Hi.....I was on the August 15th cruise and will share my opinions about the cabin I stayed in the Solstice ship:

    Deck - Deck 8

    Cabin # - 8104

    Class –

Starboard or Port Side - neither....right in the front of the ship..There is a window but it is at an angle. If you look at a picture of the ship, they are the cabins right in the front.

Bed near?(balcony or bath) –the bed is near the the bathroom and the sofa near the window

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) –In general, it is a quiet cabin. You hear the anchor early in the morning when you get into port but I am a early riser so I did not mind too much but if you like to sleep in late, don't book it. I also had teenagers roaming the halls at night but I hope you don't encounter this on your cruise:)

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -

    Was wind a problem?

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem?

Any specific problems with this cabin? You have to keep the curtains closed during the day because the cabin gets quite hot because of the angle of the windows, which you do not get if you have a standard window on starboard or port side. You can look at a picture of the ship, they are the windows right in front at an angle, and see why this is the case.

Any other comments? It is a huge cabin! It is larger than many cabins I have stayed in. I really loved the cabin. You have space even for a couple.
