OP, there are no dumb questions. "He who asks a question is a fool for a moment. He who does not ask remains a fool for a lifetime."

I don't know this for a fact, but I suspect the glitch rears its head whenever a payment is made (or some other change) and the bedding preference defaults to twin beds. I'd be curious to know if anyone who has chosen twin beds as their preference has ever had it "mysteriously" changed to king bed. If that has happened, there goes my theory.

MIssing? It isn't missing. I was out by my pool earlier and it is still there. ;-)

I've had that happen too. Strange things happen on the CCL website. As you say, it is an easy fix.

The good things is it doesn't normally rain all day in the Caribbean, unless there is a storm system in the area. It can be sunny one minute, raining the next, then sunny again.

I agree in that if you prevent drunkenness, then you prevent a large percentage of poor behavior. I have often thought it might be a good thing for Carnival to lessen the number of drinks allowed per day with Cheers (price too, obviously). That isn't going to happen though. Profit trumps responsibility with most all companies. Also, drunks are looser with their money, so Carnival is willing to put up with them.I think drunk people on cruise ships is the most disgusting thing. Does that mean all alcohol should be removed from the ships? No I have no right to tell other guest what they can or cannot drink..

Depends... do back to back cruises count as a single cruise or as two separate cruises? 10 cruises with CCL if they count as a single cruise, 11 if they count as separate cruises. 4 (or 3) cruises with other lines. 3 cruises with CCL cancelled.

Any illegitimate drinkers here? :-)

I don't believe some of them either. Literally.:)I seriously can’t believe some of the nasty things people on this thread have witnessed! 🤢Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Do they serve WCMC on the buffet? We always eat in the dining room, but traveling with my 10 month old I have a feeling we're going to be changing that up!

I have seen WCMC at the buffet at least once, maybe twice. It isn't typically available though. Maybe you'll get lucky. :)

As you can tell by now, you are going to get contrasting answers and suggestions. You'll have to decide for yourself if the food is acceptable.

Apparently MSC has improved their Caribbean cruise experience since I sailed with them three or four years ago. I experienced just the opposite, especially regarding food and staff. Once was enough for us.Two words, "MSC Seaside". If you're looking for a cruise that is a great price to beat Carnival I suggest you check her out, she's brand new. Just got off of her last week. I sailed the Vista last year and am booked for the Panorama for 2020. It was our first MSC cruise and it was spectacular. The food, the service , the ship, and fellow passengers on it made my time on the Vista last year appear that I spent it at a Wal Mart. I paid less for four in a balcony vs. Vista inside. I can honestly tell you that Carnivals food last year was hospital cafeteria food compared to MSC. If you you've only sailed Carnival then you've spent your entire cruise career at the bottom, sorry to say. I'm honest and even with another CCL booked at his moment, the overall experience is the worst. Do yourself a favor and branch out a little. -
My suggestion is just go look at what is available. If it looks good "eat it." If you find it unappealing, return to the ship for lunch. Of course, tendering back to the ship and then back to the island will take out a significant chunk of time from your day, so you should keep that in mind. Personally, I enjoy the "cookout" style meal. I'm not a fan of chicken, but I do enjoy the jerk chicken they usually have.

The best advice I can give anyone is don't bother reading reviews before a cruise. Go with an open mind and see for yourself if you like a particular line or ship.
I totally agree with this. Never has a review matched what I found when I got onboard the ship. Most reviewers on here either overplay the positive or the negative (and go into way to much detail about unimportant things). It is always either better or worse than reported. In addition, every cruise is unique, even on the same ship, food varies, staff friendliness varies, etc.... I would NEVER choose or not choose a ship because of a review or reviews.

I agree with you. I've not sailed on the Vista, but if it is similar in décor to the Breeze - and I think it is - the décor is pretty forgettable. I enjoy the Farcus designed ships. I wouldn't want that in my home, but for a vacation it is fun. And I thought Carnival was all about fun. Are they transitioning from "the fun ships" to the "Blah ships?"
-
I'm not so "good of hearing" myself and have given up trying to understand what comes over the ship's speaker system. I've also had to give up watching movies made in England. I can only understand about every fourth word in them. It's pretty bad when you can understand your own language.

There will be cancellations. There always are. If you keep a very close watch you might get lucky.

Carnival is just trying to keep the price of cruise tickets down. If I don't like it, then I should cruise with a different line! There. I told me! ;-) (j/k)

I felt like I was reading one of my occasionally rambling posts. lol. You started out talking about the status quo on CC, moved to weather in Honduras, ended up with redecorating at home. :DNot being critical, just recognizing a kindred spirit. Now where was I? Oh yeah, gotta cut the grass today, once it warms up. :DIts funny but I can be gone from here a year and come back and guarateed there is a thread usually RCL vs Carnival with each shouting their favorite is better, and a thread about quality. My last Carnival was some gambling cruise. sooooo many priority cruisers, made it not such a good perk. like 400 plus. top gambling cruise of the year apparantly for the winners who spent the most to get there. yikes.
But I was happy with the new one time cleaning of my room, i dont mess it up that much by myself and often told my cleaning guy not to do it, so thats good to me.
Food was good and plentiful. Except for the waits, i hate lines, and oh yes, very cold. First time to roatan etc with cold weather, didnt know they got that cold. brrrr. Felt sorry for those who prepaid for diving and water stuff. Cant blame Carnival for wierd weather.
I would go again, and Im sure i will. have to wait, moved in March and painting inside of house now. hoping to get done and get away.

You are correct....well sort of. There are more a few on your list that are just not true. But let's not let the facts get in the way. If you really think things are so bad, there are other fish in the sea. Try something else. Happy cruising.

I don't even know what a rum swizzle party is (not much of a drinker, I guess), but which items are you saying are incorrect? Most look right to me, but a few I'm not sure about. Not bashing at all, just seeking clarity.

As a chocoholic, I have no issues with chocolate covered germs.
If I get sick, a cocktail of Hershey syrup and DayQuil does the trick.
lol. Maybe you should get a job as bartender at "Alchemy." :)

It can be, but isn't always the case. Just depends on how good a shopper you are and how flexible you are with dates, which is true for any cruise I suppose.Gosh that sounds like fun. Curious if that runs cheaper than booking a longer cruise .
No birth certificate, no passport, BIG problem???

Once again an unbreakable, written in stone "rule" has been bent. I'm not commenting on whether that is good or bad, just observing that it apparently has happened. Some of us should think twice before posting that something isn't possible. All of us should think twice before accepting anything posted on this board as fact. Always verify.
