  1. the other side of the narrow channel where we docked...I imagine it's an even more difficult channel to navigate for the Breeze when she stops here..

All the workers, from bus drivers to store workers, lined up and danced a song along the pier to show appreciation for us coming to their village. It was fun to watch them perform for us. It was genuine, and they loved us (or our money)

the main problem with having La Romana as a port of call is that if you really want to explore the big city of Santo Domingo, it's several hours driving time just to get there, and several more hours driving back. It doesn't leave you much time to explore the city, which is why we stayed near the ship in ADC. Some of our CC people went to an all inclusive resort while we were there.

  3. I will add the Aruba trip next this afternoon. I have to go out for a while then I'll start that cruise, so stay tuned.....thanks for all the compliments. I never knew how to upload the pictures before, so I have never posted the ones you're looking at. It's been so much fun going back and remembering the cruises we've taken....see you in a little while...

  4. We had no idea what to do in La Romana....some people from the CC group were going to an all inclusive resort, but we didn't want to spend the money here. We just hopped off the ship and found a local bus terminal that would take you to either downtown village or the artist village called Alto De Chavon. The buses only cost around $7 or $8 bucks round trip, so we decided on Alto De Chavon. We had a good time there...it was fun and we could return any time we wanted.
