  1. Not until 6/10/23. We were booked on the Mardi Gras for 9/24/20 out of NYC but that got canceled. So we’re making up for it with this 8 nighter to the Southern Caribbean.

Looking forward to the ship itself and all the new/different food places. And even though we’ve done a lot of cruises we’ve never done the Southern Caribbean (had a 2 weeker canceled) so looking forward to Aruba and Curacao.

yes i get that but you were upset about not receiving advance notice for a cruise itinerary that was already being marketed prior to the delays in ship building.

my Mardi Gras cruise was canceled in December. Sailibration was not selling yet. When they canceled Mardi Gras, they said we would get first notification of a special cruise in the next month. Didn’t happen.

Uhmmm these Sailabration cruises have been out since way before the pandemic started causing cancellations so im not sure what kind of advance notice your referring to?  I booked my Panorama Sailabration cruise Feb 2, 2020

has nothing to do with the pandemic. Our Mardi Gras cruise was canceled due to delays in ship building.

  4. It’s a rip off. People who had their mardis Gras cruises canceled were going to get advance notice via email. That’s supposed to be in the next couple days. But somehow they released these sailibration cruises already and people have been booking like crazy. Promise broken.

I was on the U.S. inaugural Mardis Gras cruise that was cancelled and did not get an e-mail yet either although I hear they are coming out very soon. (possibly the 15th or sooner)

I just found the Sailabration stuff by luck on the morning it was released.

what good is the email, which was supposed to give advance notice to those who had theirs canceled, if it’s already leaked out and cabins already taken.

    Congrats!

In other news, I still have not gotten the "sailabration" email which annoys me considering that all of us canceled Mardis Gras passengers were supposed to get the first chance to book those cruises per the "cancellation" letter.

I was on a canceled Mardi Gras cruise too and haven’t gotten diddly about this special event either. Sucks cause now what we wanted is gone.

Agreed. And yeah, I know why they got rid of the straws, and wanting to be good stewards to the environment had little to do with it. That was just a good PR excuse. It wasn't a coincidence that that decision came immediately after a round of court hearings. I was just talking about the new money-making scheme they stumbled upon. Some time had passed from when they got rid of the plastic straws until they started selling their own reusable ones. I'm sure they realized there was a lot of talk from cruisers about bringing their own with them, so Carnival saw an opportunity. 🤑

and what is the reason every cruise line is getting rid of plastic straws as well as other single use things? did they all get fines and use it as a PR stunt?

WWe have been on Pride twice and she is a lovely ship BUT the last time (late 2018) there seemed to be a lot more rust on the balcony than before - lots of missing plating on the underside of the balcony above too. Don't get me wrong - I would sail on her again in a heartbeat BUT she is showing her age and needs a little exterior TLC, JMHO. The two pics below show a lot of rust - kind of sad 😞

wonder if they cleaned that up during her dry dock earlier this year?

Sure to ruffle some feathers of the Sunrise haters, I saw this post this morning.  The Carnival Sunrise wins best refurbished ship for 2019 against some tough competition.  Congrats to the Carnival team and the builder for taking a tired Triumph and reemerging as the Sunrise.

Very well deserved. I've been on the Triumph and the Sunrise. It's not even the same ship anymore. Plenty of new additions and upgraded/new décor. A beautiful ship that everyone I talked to on the ship just loved it.

Given the current quality of the platinum loyalty gift,  and/or coupled with the company selling your loyalty perks via FTTF, thus diluting your value to CCL, do you regret having a future cruise booked with CCL?

Will you book a future cruise with CCL or move on to another line?

Honestly, these two factors have left DW and I feeling under appreciated as a long term loyal returning customer.

Guessing that the cost of new customer acquisition has dropped so significantly CCL is willing to wave good bye to a loyal customer base.

    Those are our thoughts.

Just curious to hear from others.

Hell no I don’t regret it. Why should I? And when did gifts become the most important reason to cruise? As a platinum cruiser I get a lot more perks than just a lanyard or whatever. People ignore that.

Have a closer look.  Either you're not looking at the right deck plans or perhaps you just missed it.

On Lobby Deck forward, the entire first level of the main show lounge has been converted to cabins.  The show lounge is now only two levels, and more multi-purpose.

On Promenade Deck aft, 3 public spaces have been converted to cabins.  The large Club Rio aft lounge.  The Venezia Lounge which was a more intimate club with bar and music, and the Big Easy Piano Bar.  All cabins now.

There is technically one less pool as well.  The small Universe Pool located on Panorama Deck has been converted to the Carnival Waterworks play area with slides.

Some additional cabins were added elsewhere around the ship as well, but nothing as extreme as those blocks added to where the lower show lounge and aft lounges used to be.

No additional interior public space was added.  They just used the existing footprint to rework some areas.

They moved and or added more public spaces too. The piano bar you mention is now on deck 5 next to red frog pub and is very nice. As I’m sure you know they added a number of eating options, many which are free as well as adding the steakhouse and cucina and a new and larger bonsai sushi. Not everything was added cabins.

I have not seen rust on on the other ships like I have seen on carnival. Maybe they do a better job at covering it than carnival. They all rust but you don’t see it as much. I said that in my first post. Have you ever seen rust on the hall of a Norwegian ship with its art??? I have not. The Sunrise was just in dry dock and repainted. Why all the rust??

I am not interested in debating this farther. People can see for themselves and if you have cruised long enough you’ve seen many ships and which have rust or may look neglected and which don’t.

I’m sorry - what does this have to do with the cleanliness of the carnival Breeze?

People don’t want to read this - if they want to see a reviews of a different ships including the Sunrise they can read them. They all read about the same.

Unfortunately it’s evident the quality of product on Carnival is not where it should be and maybe they care or maybe they don’t. For a good price Carnival is a good vacation - no frills but fun. If you are paying - and prices are many times are similar - you will find something (maybe better - you can judge for yourself) or different in the other lines.

Enjoy your cruising where-ever you sail and with who-ever you sail.

You’re the one all over the map. I’m just responding to it. And you still haven’t answered after several attempts as to why you think other cruise lines sail in fresh water and don’t rust.

I appreciate the fact you are calling me names as it is evident I have struck a nerve. You are spending more time digging at me than refuting the facts - which is what you do to most people who refute your beloved Carnival.

Again they added great stuff but your video is without people. When they put the 4000 people on it you cannot see all the great stuff hiding behind the rust of the ship.

You were the one who said there is a video about rusting on Royal. I just added a picture. You seem to have a good business plan for Carnival by telling people to go to other cruise lines. It’s a shame - some us us actually loved carnival when they cared about their product. They seem to not care as much anymore.

Don't get upset at me get upset at the product. I will cruise where I want to spend my money but thanks for your advice. I have been on carnival 14 times and Royal twice if you read my signature. I am sure I am the customer carnival wants to drive away.

We are all the clueless, laughable and misinformed. Okay🤣

With posters such as yourself - Carnival doesn’t even have to try to do anything because as just putting out a floating raft would be unreal and mind blowing! The video would be titled the first of its kind - the Carnival Floater.

You are so lost you’re now all over the place. Where did I say anything about a video about rust? Now you’re up to 4000 on the sunrise? LOLOL. You’re a piece of work. And carnival doesn’t need haters. They cruise full without them. Why do you think only carnival ships cruise in salt water? LOLOL.
