  1. I actually watched the Freedom pull into FLL this weekend, and it was BEFORE 6am:eek::eek:

I think they say that so people plan later flights.

We are coming back to MIA on the Breeze.

We booked a 10:55 flight out FLL.

    I am not worried.

Same ship last year, and we were AT FLL at 9am.

If you can get an earlier flight (within reason), I say book it.:D

    Good Luck!!!!!!

Thank you!!!! Really thinking about the 10:20 flight :)

Btw...where in CT are you? Most of my relatives are in Stratford, new haven, Trumbull areas ...

  2. Hi...

Sailing on the Freedom June 1, 2014 ... The itinerary states that we don't get back into port on June 9th until 8:00am ... All other cruises that I've been on usually get back around 7ish ... Is the 8:00am the real time or would it be earlier?

Secondly, looking to book a 10:20 flight out of FLL ... Is this doable even if we get into port at 8:00?

    Thank you

Do you think it's valid on all cruises thru August 31?

  4. Finally figured out my hotel and parking situation ... Dad has a free night at a choice hotel (well, some of them depending on how many points are required) .... So, we will be parking at the port ... Convenience and safety ... Whew that's done. Now just figuring out and finalizing the excursions and paying off the cruise and we will be set.... Woohoo!!!!

Thanx to all that gave suggestions and advice :)

  5. I don't believe these hotels have secured and monitored parking. I think that Renaissance, Embassy Suites, and Sheraton Airport might have parking security.

    Which Hyatt Place?

A taxi from Comfort Suites on Federal to the port will be about $10-15.

Sharon.... It would be the hyatt place on 17th

Parking security is a big concern ... I don't want to leave our car somewhere that is just out in the open and no one watching it.

What do you know about ParknGo? Seems to be in a fenced lot with security...idk?

  6. About going crazy trying to find a decent hotel with decent rates that has a park and cruise deal .... Been rading a lot about not using the hotel shuttles and just taking a taxi instead. Can't really tell which hotels have a secured and monitored parking lot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sleep inn ... Heard it was good, then recently read bad reviews

    La Quinta inn ... ?

Quality inn Hollywood ... Have tentative reservations, but now hear its not a good hotel / parking

Hyatt place ... Found a park n cruise for $130 ... How much for a taxi to/ from the port?

Comfort inn (federal & 17th) ... Found a park n cruise for $119... How much for a taxi to/ from the port?

    How are these hotels?

Has anyone used park n go ... Can park there for $67 then could possibly find a good deal on a hotel without park n cruise packages.

    Help please .... Thank you!!!!

  7. We stayed last month at the Rodeway Inn & Suites on West State Road 84 in FLL. It was advertised as a cruise port hotel that allowed you to leave your car and gave you transportation to/from the airport. First it was an old motel and not all that well kept up. After arrival I found out they charged $10/day to leave your car although I was led to believe it was included in the hotel rate. The manager ran the place like his own personal stalig barking out orders over the PA system that could be heard all around the motel.

I stayed in prior years at the La Quinta Airport and it was one of the nicest La Quinta properties I have ever stayed at. They let me leave my car for no extra charge and gave us free transport to the ship. We did have to pay for the return which was $25. I would have stayed here again last month but waited too long to get a reservation.

We ended up using Park'n'Ride which was between the airport and the cruise port. They took us to the ship and brought us back as part of the parking fee. They had 24 hour secruity.

When you reserved the room previously, did you ask for a cruise package or just ask them when you got there if you could leave your car for free?

Is their long term parking in a secured place or just their regular lot?

Was the park'n'ride ok? And is that in a fenced lot ... Valet or self park? How much was it to park there?

    Thank you so much!

  8. Few weeks ago I read someone's comments about Quality Inn ..... I do not know if that one is in the same location as the one that you are asking about.

Here is the link to that thread.

A little more than a year ago we stayed in Sleep Inn in Dania ..... nothing fancy but was priced what I wanted to pay and it provided good overnight stay. Publix was very close as well as other stores and places to get some food,

Thank you for the link and no, this isn't the same quality inn ... OMG, that sounded like such a horrible experience. I will look into the sleep inn ... Thank again!

  9. Has anyone stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites, Hollywood, FL and used the shuttle to/from the port as well as left their car there during the cruise?

How was the hotel, rooms, customer service, shuttle service (wait time to and from the port) and parking facilities?

    Will be driving down May 31 for a cruise June 1 - 9 ....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

    Thank you,

    Marianne

  11. This was an awesome review .... My BF, dad and I will be on the Freedom for my big birthday in June ... Right after she gets out of dry dock ....

Could you look on the fun times and tell me if there is karaoke the first night? Our last cruise, my BF sang every chance he could and he wants to sing happy birthday to me on my actual birthday (which is the day we sail)

    Thank you!
