Can anyone tell me if you are able to communicate with your group on ship thru app. 6 cabins, 14 people. I am a senior who once I board the ship I am on vacation. Need to read compass so I know the day etc. I know the younger members of my group will be taking wi fi package. Not me if I don't have to. Just would like ability to know where to find my family

Just say people to people. You should not have to take tour as far as I know. Once you go thru customs they take visa card stamp passport and you can then come and go as you please. That affidavit has nothing to do with visa but say you are aware of visiting rules Check other topics many out there

Actually if you look out the Sun's web cam which is facing Havana. Almost unable to see any buildings lite up. I imagine this would be to conserve power needed

https://www.npr.org/2019/05/05/720376155/cubans-increasingly-anxious-about-gas-shortages-under-trump-sanctions-against-ve There was another but you might locate the others. I was concerned that while in Cuba in 2 weeks I might want to consider changing how I would spend my time, punt per se. Look into walking about more

https://thenewswheel.com/fuel-shortage-stalls-cuban-cars/ Looking for article where R Castro was giving a pep talk per say about problems that are starting to happen
-
I had expressed my concerns since I lived and drove during the oil embargo of 1973. You were assigned to get gas based on odd / even license plates and various other ways. It was not easy on people or their pocketbooks. With the blackouts etc from Cuba's main supplier Venezuela they to might face this way of life in obtaining fuel. If restrictions start to happen I wondered if it is trickling down to tours. Rethink how to spend time in Havana That was it

Fidel and Ramon might be dead. Raul maybe stepping down into retirement Diaz-Canel moving up Still Raul was speaking about the fact that oil from Venezuela was slowing down. Raul was speaking about the fact that it would be harder to get gas and quotas would most likely be imposed. That is what I was inquiring about. This was last week

Recently read that Castro talked of fuel shortages and its affecting Classic cars and other tours etc. Did anyone feel this was a problem with the last few sailing? We sail On Sun May 27h

It is not just Carnival. Right now there are over 60 different companies involved. I'm sure this is just the start. It will be awhile before anyone can say if this will affect any travel.
-
If you mean the start of law suits this most probably not affect cruises to Cuba for a while. There are over 60 companies now involved. I don't see any quick action by any side since they will be dragging this thru the courts probably for years. Any one think this will stop up coming cruises I really expect to sail on Sun May 27th

https://legalcubatravel.com/ A travel related site but lots of info. Read thru travel advisor forum. Link at bottom of page. Also check to see if any change in requirements yet. Still 2017 rules.

- You do not need to book an excursion. People to people still on NCL form. It was not removed. Visa only used 1st time off ship. Next time off your stamped passport all you need. My family taking bus but there are many options out there. You will also change out money as you leave but be aware they charge a percentage to get back US currency so only really change out what you need. Credit and debit cards almost always do not work. But some will take US dollars.

- https://legalcubatravel.com/ As of TODAY no change. Sun sails this PM Nothing out there about any new rules. Where did you find anything else? Not on treasury site, not on State dept site

Thanks so much. 28 days and counting. Printed so family ranging from 25 to well into social security might get heads up. Just watching the sites with travel restrictions . So far none out there.
-
I hope they will handle any change as they did Nov 2017 6 month notice per se. I cant see a total instantaneous shut down🙄
-
On Sun 27th There are quite a few different tours listed for Havana.
-
https://legalcubatravel.com/ This is one site I have watched. Also good links to travel advisor, treasury and state web sites. We have been dealing with: they are stopping on April 18th or May 2nd etc. Leaving on Sun on May 27th. 3 Cuba cruises on the Sun have come and gone. Still no action has been taken on travel. Now if you want to sue Cuba for lost property etc that's another story May 2nd is your date. Keeping the faith. Havana May 29th🚢

- https://legalcubatravel.com/ Even tho a "travel site per say" had a lot of good info. We are now 2 1/2 weeks since speech by Bolton. I have seen no movement anywhere stopping cruise or airlines. The May 2nd "law suits" are approaching but that probably will not even get off ground. I just hope we are in a face off that goes no where. My family and I look forward to being in Havana on May 29th. Hopefully this to will be another such event⚓

https://legalcubatravel.com/ 30 days out. cruise 3 leaves Monday since announcement. Sure hope they are right. Looked at Treasury site still no change

Since we are not sailing " on a floating city" as my mom use to say but a much smaller ship with no where near the special shows, no Haven area, dining venues etc Just a few suite questions
Butler is an added cost even tho we have pre paid gratuities? What would be expected? Can it be added to bill? Still priority boarding? What perks are carried over. Thanks for info
-
Thanks for info. I had looked everywhere in the cruise doc Did not find. Not aware there are different visas. One had said NCL takes care of it. Now I know how.
-
I was on another board and 2 people mentioned proof of health coverage was necessary for Cuban entry. Is this correct? If so what was necessary to show or bring.
What was cruising like just after 9/11?

We sailed out of Ft Lauderdale in Oct. Ship could have held 1200 passengers. Had about 500 to 600. They only used one level of dining room. To get to pier you drove thru armed guards, coast guard surrendered ship and escorted us out about 3 miles. Had to show all kinds of ID about 3 times. It was strange like our own 900 ft ship. It was eerie. Had pool to yourself at times
