  1. We cruise Carnival and we are getting it. A bucket of beers is 25ish for 4 beers. My husband can easily drink 8 plus beers a day while lounging by the pool. Add in unlimited soda and fancy coffee and shakes and he will, save money. I like a few cocktails that would be higher priced like a Mojito which can run close to 8ish, but I def love fancy coffee and shakes and stuff , so while maybe not all alcohol drinks but I think I will save too.

On Carnival, if you purchase before sailing, it is about 50 bucks cheaper. So for us.. Makes budgeting easier. And will save us money.

    Have fun!!

  2. Hello cheers experts.

My entire family is going on a cruise including my parents who are in their mid to late 70's. All of us are buying the cheers package as it will save most of about half of what we would normally spend.

My question is about my parents only. We all have cove balconys as this is our preferred room type, but also because it is my parents first cruise and did not want a lot of motion in case of sea sickness. Y father has had knee replace surgery in the last 6 months and gets along fine... But he is wanting to have a few beers in a bucket on his own balcony...

Is this something he will be able to do?? They will not be able to go back and forth for every beer in their room. If this may be an issue then I may have them cancel the cheers .. I hope this makes sense.

It's not about the cost or number of drinks..but their mobility... Thanks for any help!!

  3. I booked my first cove balcony on the breeze. Looking forward to it!!

You won't be sorry. I actually passed on a 2 category upgrade because I wanted the cove balcony....

ONLY complaint for me about cove balc is that since you are so close to the water you don't get that rocking feeling.. Which I loved at night on the Sensation. Other than that.. We love them.

    Congrats!!

Oh and ps. One of my friends fav ship is the Breeze... He went on it about 12 times before it left Ft Lauderdale (?) and he lives about 1 hr from Port Canaveral. He is semi retired and goes all the time.

  4. For my family yes. Even on a 7 dayer with 4 ports. Most all drink a few beers. There are 10 going. a bucket of beers is 25ish for 4 beers. So would need 2 buckets just so most get a beer. That right there is over 50 bucks. It now includes sodas, milkshakes and specialty coffees- so def worth the 800 for us.

Disclaimer: I know you cannot buy buckets on the cheers program. :)

  5. Usually a bigger casino...

    A larger pool,deck.

Sensation was my 1st cruise and it just ruined me.. In a good way of course. Had such a blast and was so pampered. Crew was awesome. Just fabulous.

Then I went on the Dream... I loved deck 5.. And the cove balcony. And that there was plenty of shaded seating around the pools. Of course huge casino with great selection. Loved the big hot tubs on deck 5. Again.. Pampered.

Then the Sunshine. The adult pool was so small... Too small. But the sound of the waterfall made up for it.. And plenty of shaded spots to enjoy the waterfall sounds. Also enjoyed a dive in movie with the stadium seating... One of my fav cruise memories.

All have been wonderful cruises... And I think I cruise more for the ship than the ports.

  6. Hello everyone,

My entire family just booked cove balcony (5) cabins total. We all received the same price.. My son has been on the most Carnival cruises but right inside that window to gold on the above mentioned cruise. This is my parents first cruise and I would have thought they would have paid more. I am happy to pay the price.. But thought there would have been some sort of price difference from a 1st timer to a return guest.

Also. Since there are 10 of us.. Do you think we would be able to be seated together at dining room.

On our last cruise we had 10 there and the anytime dining did not work out at all... But we understood ...

Thanks for any light you can shed.

  7. I am hoping to have a May 2017 cruise booked soon. It will be the whole family and then some so pinning down a date right now. I am 5' 6" and began this lifestyle change in October (2015) at 217!! I am down to 197.6 this morning.

I have been low carbing and not began any exercise routine as of yet. I am 53 yrs old and swear that the yo-yo dieting I have done for the last 20yrs have completely anihalated my metab. I also was never a water drinker..more of a coffee all day kinda gal!! Now I drink much more water.. And actually get thirsty for it!!

My daughter will be married in October 16, and my son in December 16 !! I have asked them nicely to space my grand babies out a little more than that..haha. My reason for doing this now , aside for myself, is that I hate, I mean HATE, having my pic taken.. When I see them I always feel like I look like a freak...a stranger... I Don't even recognize myself . So my motivation is to,make sure I will be that proud MOB, MOG smiling away inthose pics!!

I am putting 100% into this. My first REAL goal was to be under 200 and I hit it about 3'weeks ago. I sometimes lose/gain 3 lbs over and over.. But have not gone back over the 200 mark. We can do this!!

  8. I have been LC since October-ish. I am down 20lbs. I have had a few fall off the wagon weekends but am happy with my progress. I do think a cheat meal is okay for me every 2 weeks but not with sweets. Usually pizza or a sub. One of my fav desserts on Carnival is the cheese plate, yes, I love the sweet ones too, but that cheese plate is sweet, savory and satisfying all at once for me. I still have about 50lbs to lose. If I feel sluggish or sickly then I usually up my veggies. My go to snacks are peanuts and p butter with a dollop of whipped cream. Those items are probably why I have lost 20 lbs and also why I have lost ONLY 20lbs if that makes sense. I need them to overcome cravings but they also save me from eating what I feel like.

  9. I preferred the Dream over the Sunshine for All of it. The Sunshine is a great ship and I enjoyed the serenity area of hers over the Dream, but only enjoyed it on port days.. When most were off the ship. I did not like the main pool area as it felt very closed in to me.. But the Sunshine is a diff class than the Dream. So I was not used to the stadium type seating at the pool... But it did make for a better movie watch at night... Haha.. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either of them. I won't try and confuse you more....

  10. I sailed on Sunshine ..but not in a spa suite or spa anything. Just a regular balcony. One of the entrances to the spa area is right by the pool with the waterfall... A big heavy wooden door.. And when people when in and out it would SLAM shut. I remember thinking I would be ticked off if I had a room in that area. But maybe if you were in the room it wasn't as loud. We loved everything about the ship and had a blast.

  11. We did Key West, Nassau and Freeport. Did not keep the fun times, but the list was long for daily activities. I did see the younger 5 to 7 ish age, camp carnival kids group in the Buffett area... They were always giggling and laughing and seemed to be having a fun time.. I am putting that out there for people traveling with the kids. Looks like they were well taken care of.

  12. ]Hello everyone... Just back from 5 day Sunshine sailing and wanted to share.

Boarding was fast and painless. We arrived about 11 and wee walking on by 11.30.

We had balc room 7111. 2 doors down from the secret deck. There was no fridge or nightstands but a very comfy bed and fantastic water pressure. Also a small sofa and table.. We did not miss the nightstands or fridge.

We were a party of 11 and had MTD. We ate in the dining room the first 2 nights but it was a long wait, I imagine due to the size of our party. The rest of the nights we grazed here and there.

I am not a burger fan... But Guys was a great burger. I love the pizza. The coffee was very good but I use cream and sugar... So those who like it black may have a different opinion.

The casino was pretty big.. Lots of penny slots, which you can really rack up the points on 3 and 4 dollar max bets. When you reach 1500 points drinks are on the house as long as you are playing in the casino.

My daughter, 23, was injured on the slide. She said she went from 2mph to what felt like 100mph, it may have been the pitch or lean in the ship from a wave- anyhow, she hit the wall at the end and twisted her ankle pretty good. It swelled right away but she could walk, so we went to the infirmary. Honestly, I just thought someone could take a look, and we needed a bandaid as there was a small cut... But we were told it would be $1.50 for a bandaid and anti bacterial cream. The nurse didn't even look over the counter at her ankle. My point to this is that I thought it weird that I could go downstairs and eat like 15 desserts and 20 burgers but they will charge for a bandaid. And again.. Nothing to do with price.. Just odd that thee was a charge for something so small. As we were walking out a young lady came in for check up and she had a black eye.. I mean boxing ring looking black eye from the slide. I really think it had to do with the movement of the ship at just the right time. No harm and no foul. My daughter was able to continue the cruise with a smile on her face.

The serenity area was my favorite place. 2 nd level.... Shaded spot. Played a few really good concerts on the big screen during the day. I never left the ship and enjoyed my days at Serenity. I will say this though.. The doors to the serenity rooms leading to the outside were constantly slamming... They closed hard and most people would just come barreling out the door and let it slam. I hope it wasn't bothering anyone in those rooms close to the exit.

On deck 7 I did see a few buckets and there was a leak a few doors down that they had to take care of... But it did not effect our cruise at all. I did smell "that smell" a few times.. But I was suspicious that it was someone in our group-ahem.

Aside from the casino, my fav night was watching gravity on the big screen, eating free popcorn and watching the lightening from a storm cloud in the distance. The pool was lit up and people were swimming and laughing till late in the evening.

All 11 of us enjoyed our cruise and would book again. I will post a few pics later.

    Thanks for reading.

  13. Just off this morning. It was a great cruise. I have been on the Dream and preferred her lido deck. But preferred the Sunshine Serenity area. We were in 7111 balcony. There were no nightstands which I only add as it was discussed before on this board. I would totally book Sunshine again, but I like to try different ships.

  14. I voted for Dream Class. My first cruise was on the Sensation in a balcony and while it was a great cruise, I just wanted bigger. The second cruise was on Dream in a cove balcony and I liked it a lot more.. Not so much for the newness but bigger casino and more slots and more areas to stroll around. My next cruise is in 2 weeks on the Sunshine, again balcony but mid size from my 2 previous cruises. Next year I am hoping to try the Liberty. I just know that I love Carnival.
