  1. We are on the Christmas at sea & Cuban fusion itinerary

We are on the Cuban fusion the week after you and really looking forward to it can only manage the week I'm afraid but still a nice break in the winter. Have always wanted to see Havana so the two days in port will be great. Have a two week med one first and when that is over it will fly in. Christmas at sea will be great let someone else cook and clean up

  2. Any tips and advise would be appreciated. Even the little things like where serves to best coffee and the best place for entertainment! I'm a first time cruiser too so any general tips that apply to all cruise ships would also help.

    Thank you!

Agree with pensioner cruiser about the discovery of all the great things on a ship, the anticipation is a big part of the fun and everyone has different perceptions of what is "best" if you go with the idea of enjoying your holiday you will have a ball. Every cruise ship has multiple eating/drinking/entertainment venues and I can't think that most people won't find something to their liking we are going on a massive ship next month much bigger than the dream but pro rata the dream will have just as much and we will have a ball on both trips what itinerary are you on ?

  3. Apologies in advance if this is a bit of an inane question but how much storage (for clothes etc) are there in the Ventura cabins? We have a superior deluxe.

I'm very excited about the fact that for the first time ever there won't be a restriction on the amount of clothing etc I pack (I'm planning on 2 suitcases :D ) but now wonder if there is enough room to hang/put away everything. Obviously my other half will also have his stuff, but, knowing him, he won't even fill his one case.

We're off in 10 days and I'm wondering if I need to whittle down the huge pile of clothes that is gathering in my spare room!!

    Many thanks.

    Astrid :)

We' were in a superior deluxe last September and going again next month masses of space take as much as you lI've huge walk in wardrobe shelf next to that under the safe and the usual bedside plus a drawer under the mirror at the vanity unit. Brilliant cabin you will love it :)

  4. Why don't you have a word with your local police(Police Scotland) to see if they can suggest an easy way around this might be problem getting to the hotel. Scott my husband said they might be able to assist you and provide an escort for the bride if need be. Ask their advice.

Is it possible that the hairdresser could come to you home instead of you going to hairdresser. Yes it might be difficult for her/him also but it would be less stress on the bridal party.

    Another thought:)

You could also contact your local newspaper stating that your daughter is getting married on the day of the mountain bike final and could they publish a short story about who she was sharing her special day with

the 'Commonwealth Games Mountain Bike finalists'

I am now worrying for you:D

My husband is a Clydesider volunteer at the Commonwealth Bowling Tournament

And we are attending the pre opening ceremony on 21st July.

    Pat

That all sounds very good advice I will look into those suggestions. Your husband will love being a Clydesider I saw dozens this morning pouring out of Dalmarnock Station must have been a training day. The pre opening ceremony will be fantastic we have tickets for the closing ceremony so that us something to look forward to after everything goes flat after the wedding and still more than twelve weeks to go til the cruise

  5. Yes I know Cambuslang

Sorry I am mixing myself up. Yes we are on Azura Oct/Nov 2014 to Caribbean

And we are also booked on Britannia for 2015

our Britannia Cruise to Caribbean is Britannia B525 8th Nov 2015, we also have a roll call up and running so have a look at that. This particular cruise is quite a special cruise because it is the Britannias maiden cruise to Caribbean and some of the Islands are wonderful ,they all are ,but Grand Cayman Islands,Aruba and Jamaica are something else.

I hope you have a wonderful time at your daughters wedding and please let me know how much you enjoyed the wedding . Congratulations to your daughter and her future husband.

    Best wishes to you all.

    Pat

The hardest bit about the wedding will be getting around on the day. It's on the same day as the Commonwealth Games marathon and the hairdressers we are going to is on the route and all the surrounding roads will be closed and to get to the hotel for the wedding we would normally go through the Cathkin Braes and they are closed that day for the mountain bike final but we will get through I'm sure. Every time I hear on the news only three weeks to go I think well this wedding is well publicised Ha ha

  6. Also tell your steward that you want ice & lemon every day and it will be there - check the fridge. On the 1st sailaway from S'ton we tend to order 6 glasses of champers at the reduced price and tell them not to open the bottle then you can enjoy it whenever you want.

Thanks for that we did the ice and lemon bit last time but that was from Southampton and we took our own bottle on but am intrigued about the six glasses of champagne If you order six glasses do they deliver a bottle ?

  7. Just noticed you are from Glasgow. We live on the Great Western Road in

Old Drumchapel, are you anywhere near us?

We are on Britannia 23rd October sailing out from Southampton for 29 days B524A /B525A Back to Back flying back to Glasgow on Friday 22ndNov.

It is the A525A 14 day cruise that leaves Glasgow 8th Nov returning from Barbados Sat22nd arriving Glasgow 23rd.

We have two roll call up and running on

    Britannia A424/A424A Transatlantic Caribbean. And

    Britannia A425/A425A Barbados - Caribbean

    Pop in and say hello.

By the way there are plenty golf courses in the Caribbean:D

    Pat

We are on the other end of the Argyle line in Cambuslang. Had a wee look at your cruise and it looks great but holidays from work will be a bit tight at the end of this year because I am off for three weeks at the end of this month for our daughters wedding so that uses up fifty percent of my allocation without even leaving the country. Maybe next year

  8. You can buy bottles of spirits for the cabin about £22 for a litre bottle and the little 150ml cans of mixers are 90p the same as in the bars. You can also get cans of beer eg. 6 for the price of 5. You will find order forms in your cabin, fill it in and your steward will sort it for you.

Thanks kathsmum it's nice to have a pre/dinner drink or two on the balcony but don't want the hassle of having to carry it so that sounds good

  9. Guess what I have just heard ?

Yes, that's correct A Golf Simulator and Bowls Simulator going to be on Britannia:eek: Any chance of you joining us on Britannia and we two could get together on sea days so we won't be alone.:D:D:D

    Pat

I might just have a look into that never cruised the Carribean but always fancied it as long as the simulators don't replace a bar they are welcome to them
