  1. I ate lunch there last week and it was ala carte only.

Can anyone tell me the current pricing for Sabor on Oasis. Last I heard it was the à la cart menu but that the $20 per person tasting menu was still in effect.

We were on Allure September and they eliminated the tasting menu- which is what everyone said to get the best deal for your money. Thanks so much

  2.

It's odd because it's not a route Royal has historically done. ;)

Labadee isn't really out of the way since it is on the north coast of Haiti.

I wonder if you'll see more ships doubling up there in the future.

In my opinion the strange part of the move was swapping San Juan for St Thomas

Maybe in the future they will do a 4 port Eastern and add St Thomas back or maybe Nassau. I'm sure a lot of these port choices are both political and economic. Pay me to park my ship in town, build me a new pier, etc..

We are on the 8 night Eastern on the Oasis for New Year's. The 4th port they added was St. Kitts.

  3. Thank you for posting these. We are on the New Year's Eve 8 night next month.

By any chance do you remember which menu was repeated? We may try some specialty restaurants and a duplicate menu night would be perfect. I would love to do the 3 night specialty dining, but apparently it isn't offered. My TA thinks it may be because it is a holiday cruise.

  4. It does not "bite". The Comedy Club is adults only, and that means 18 and up.

If anyone is 18 or older, that person is welcome.

Actually for my family it does "bite." It is my DD's graduation trip and our DS and his GF are also coming. It is unfortunate that she is the only one that cannot attend. That does not however mean that I will do anything to circumvent the rules. I understand that an age limit must be set, and will abide by it.

We have been on other cruise ships that have two shows on the same night and the early show is "family," and the late show is "adult."

Hopefully there will be a family show that we can all attend.

  5. If there are two shows per night on our cruise, are they the same, or is the early show more family oriented and the late show more "adult"?

Edited - I guess they are all "adult" because they won't allow me to add my 17 year 11 month old DD to the reservation. This bites.

  6. If I recall though you cannot get a bucket under the Cheers program. You have to order singles. At least that is what I thought I read.

Does anyone know how much a bucket of beer is and how many you get?

Also how much are mixed/frozen drinks. Trying to figure out if the Cheers program is right for us. We are not big drinkers so I am really wondering if it would be worth it.

    Thanks,

    Rich

Just off the Freedom. I can't answer to the price of the bucket, but the people who shared our table at comedy club got 4 beers in the bucket.

My pina coladas were $8.25 + tip (I believe). Virgin PCs were $5.25 and my sons beer was $5.25. I believe those numbers are correct, or at least with $0.25 per drink.

  7. If you prefer to have a table to yourself a pre-request a certain table you can email the matre d before you board. We already got our table for our upcoming new years cruise on the freedom. private table for two in the center near a window.

    Enjoy!

Thanks for the info, I just sent our request.

That is our cruise also. Our first on Carnival.

    See you there!

  8. Looks like the $100 cards are sold out, guess I'll bite the bullet and get the $500 one, not like I won't use it. :D

Both $100 and $500 available today. I bought both for our cruise in December. I hope they come soon so I can finish booking excursions.

  9. Thanks for the head's up. We are sailing 12/26/15 out of Galveston and I went online and did check-in so we could have the earliest check-in time I could get. We are set for 10:30-11:00.

I got an email from Carnival today for our cruise leaving from Galveston on 12/27 that said they are now requiring everyone to select a 30 minute window for arrival. If you have Priority, suite, or FTTF you also have to select a time but can arrive anytime you want to. Otherwise if you are early they said they will not let you in the terminal until your time. They stated this was a new policy. I had to go back and add the time since I had already completed the online registration. Also everyone will be required to have a preprinted boarding pass or show it on their phone to enter the terminal. Not sure if this will apply to all cruises or just those our of Galveston, or just this one. I've checked out March cruise our of NOLA and no option to select a check in time yet on there.
  10. I woke up bright and early at 8 am and had every intention of working out today.

    But. The. Struggle. Was. Real.

I didn't make it. I took a shower and got dressed in my swimsuit and coverup, ready for a sunny pool day. My mom and JJ were going to go to the breakfast buffet on lido, so I suggested they come to the MDR with me for brunch instead. Sea day brunch is held in the Southern Lights Restaurant, deck 3 aft. We were seated immediately with no wait.

    Sea day brunch menu.

We were served a basket of assorted pastries.

My mom brought one of the new puzzle books I got her and we could not figure this one out. Can anyone get it without using a calculator, and what was your strategy?

37 46 and 31 My strategy was it has to be fairly large numbers to add up to a number that large. So I started with 37 and 46 and then looked for 31.

  11. We are doing an Alaskan cruise next July on Island.

I have booked a cat. HH for my DH, DD and myself, and have chosen the furthest back E622, which should at least give us daylight.

I booked my Mother and DS into a balcony into the cheapest category, BH in cabin E207. Nowhere online did it indicate this balcony was partially obstructed, but when I got e-mail from TA, it states this. When I looked at the online pictures, it almost looks like the balcony is covered top to bottom with a wall that has a porthole, can anyone confirm this? Not sure it is worth anything more if that is true. It is nice to have the extra space, but not if there is no view.
