  1. @ATG gave a good update, I woke up at 1:30 and we hadn’t moved, then the motion of the ship (and my bathroom door slamming) woke me up around 4am. Rolling all night. Today it is warmer, sunny, but still windy and ship moving a bit. Concerned about my run as I actually missed doing it yesterday, will check after breakfast to see if outside deck 4 is open. Not sure I could stay on a treadmill! Only plans for today: top tier at 10 and wine tasting at 2. cheers,
  2. While I was at the pool/bar area the DJ was not playing, however they started when I was eating. From there wasn’t too loud, but did not go back to the pool. the place is so large, thinking that it wouldn’t be difficult to find a quiet spot. Yesterday was not the best example though!
  3. There is now an Arminda working behind the bar. She was cleaning up some stuff and when she saw me, immediately put it down and took my order. Like to feel I’m special, but I think she’s just a fantastic bar tender!
  4. I officially love coco cay overnights. A few minutes ago in the casino. This is going into the envelope for Vegas on race week! oh, the first day I posted that I lost at monopoly. Looking at machines tonight, it was WOF.
  5. New update I’m sure you heard: might be leaving between midnight and 2 am. Still expected to be in Labedee on schedule. your projection for an overnighter is looking good … who is your pick for the superbowl?
  6. Yeah, I would be very upset if I shelled out all the $$$ they charge for a cabana today!!
  7. Time for my favorite part of the day, dinner review (actually, eating it is the better part)! Tonight was Giovanni’s and I’m going to try and use some of the fancy terms from those cooking shows. Started with arugula salad. They offered a balsamic glaze on top, the mix was perfect with the sweetness of the glaze offsetting the bitterness of the arugula. Next: mushroom risotto. Always one of my favorite dishes on the ship. went a little off schedule for the main. Since the meat dishes have only been ok the first two nights, wanted to try the fish, so The Brazino. Very happy with this plate, with crispy skin, tender meat, and the perfect amount of acid so I noticed it, but it didn’t overpower. Also appreciated that I could taste the fish and not just a sauce. finally, cannoli for desert. Note that in order to fully enjoy this, you must take liberal use of the chocolate sauce served on the side. Kim Crawford Sauvignon blanc (not pictured) to complete the meal. cheers,
  8. Yeah, this whole thing is weird. I’m started to wonder why we docked at all (it was already very windy this morning), but having read all the complaints when a ship misses a port, guessing they took a chance that things would get better!
  9. No ladies behind the bar tonight…Christoper made a dandy old fashioned. Will have to keep checking 😎
  10. Maybe we’ll need to - Oasis is still at the dock! I’m sitting at the schooner bar and have seen a lot of white shirted officers around. Don’t know if they are available in case of questions, or about to round us up!
  11. Captain Goran announced that the wind direction is shifting and we should be able to leave in a hour or so. Meanwhile, read that the Radiance was stuck in port over night, so sounds like it could be worse! it’s dark here now so can’t seen the waves, but can still hear the wind whipping and the ship shuddering!
  12. Still at the dock. The weather has actually gotten worse and the captain has given up with the thrusters. I guess we will wait this out, so I’m gonna take a nap!
  13. Yes. The oasis was blocking the wind from her and she was able to slip away.
  14. Hard to get perspective as I’m on deck 14, but that post sticks out of the water a good 15 feet, and it’s regularly getting submerged by the waves. Some of these rollers are probably 25 - 30 feet high and hitting us broad side.
  15. Spent the last 30 minutes watching the ship battle the wind - and lose… both thrusters are going and engines making full steam, but the ship has not budged. No idea what ‘plan b’ might be….
  16. these are legible on my device, but post looks bad. Let me know if you can make them out. Day 2 Day 3
  17. Capt Goran. He just came on to let us know the weather is getting worse and we’ll be leaving coco cay 3 hrs early. Said there could be some ‘motion in the ocean’ tonight!
  18. They just announced they are closing the island (technically closing the pier). Everything and everybody are being brought back on board. Check this video out and let me know if you think the thrusters can get us off the dock! if you hear the boom, it’s the ship hitting the dock IMG_7983.mov IMG_7980.mov
  19. Have not been there yet so will check it out. Does Marina make a good old fashioned? 😀 Will photo when I get back. Surprisingly, have received a paper compass the last two days. earlier someone asked the captain’s name. A little embarrassed to admit I don’t know….he hasn’t been making announcement nor can I find the photo board of the officers anywhere. I might have to ask 😕
  20. With the sun out, it’s not too bad out of the wind, so settled into a spot on the leeward side of the island. Not very busy for two ships in port, reminds me of the restart days!
  21. Hideaway is on the windward side of the island and boy was it windy! The staff was securing stuff down when I got there the smart people were in the water! It’s heated and warmer than the ocean today. Photo of a cabina and the pool Menu for the walk up food place, I had the coconut shrimp which were surprisingly good! The ‘tarter’ sauce is very sweet, but worked will with the shrimp. The sun eventually started to poke out, but it was too windy to relax (didn’t bring pool stuff!). May go back later. edited to add: I posted the wrong area on Coco Cay earlier in my report…I had purchased access to hideaway in the Black Friday sale.
  22. Not a great start to a perfect day…68° and wind is howling. But we docked!
  23. looking forward to it getting better! Tomorrow is coco cay so I think that will be deck 2 again 😞. my current trick is to do three or flights, then cross over to the other side for a few more.
  24. That makes sense as I’ll pass 280 on this cruise. Thanks for the info!
