  1. The Everglades tour does look intriguing. However, some bad reviews scared me away. Good to hear not everyone had a bad experience. Anyone else have experience with this tour? I just checked RCC's website. Only 2 stars out of 5 after 10 reviews. Yikes! Also, it would be more than $300 for everyone. Our transfer is only $60...

I saw your Allure review- $20 per person for RCI to take the luggage ($120 total)? Per person or suitcase? Then how much for a taxi trip somewhere and then back to the airport? $18 each way- but with 6, might need more than one cab?

Mall would be okay, but we aren't big shoppers- the kids would beg for stuff, but if we found a restaurant, might still be better than sitting at port and airport?

  2. I'm looking for some good suggestions as to what to do with my family of 6 after departing from Allure and before our 2:55 pm flight back home.

We currently have a transfer booked to pick us up at port at 10:45 and then take us to the airport. However, by all accounts it appears that we will be off earlier than that and have lots of waiting at the port and then lots of waiting at the airport.

I need help with some better suggestions. I know that the ship has some tours available. However, we are staying at the Hilton Beach Resort for 3 nights before the cruise, and will during that time see Las Olas. We have dinner reservations at Coconuts one night, and booked an inter-coastal waterway boat tour with "Gondola boat tour." So, would the tour through the ship largely be retread?

I also noticed an Everglades tour. We will NOT be visiting the everglades pre-cruise, and thought the kids might enjoy this so perhaps this is an option? But then I read the reviews.... not very good.

Any other ideas for passing the day? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!

  3. So speaking of logistics. We dock at 8, and have the tour scheduled for 9am. Will we have enough time to get my Dad his cabana and get our kids into the kids club before the 9am tour?

If not, we might just worry about the kids and let Dad figure out the cabana himself (we put it under his name and reservation just in case this was an issue). Where on the map above is the kids club?

  4. You piqued my interest to look into your sailing since it's over the same time frame and same departure port. 8 days, ports I haven't been too yet... and less expensive. Not a bad deal! I've been on Freedom already however, and I am not sure that my family will want to do a Freedom class after experiencing the Allure. That's pretty much why I chose Harmony instead. Plus it's got water slides, etc. I will keep an eye out on the Freedom, however as it's pretty tempting.

  5. Thank you for the day 5 Compass. By Day 4, you are now back on the standard Western Itinerary, so I assume that all Compasses from 4 out won't change much. Day 5 for us is NYE, and I think I scheduled all of us for specialty restaurant dinner that night, followed by the Ice Games show at 9:30, then headliner show at 10:30.

Does anyone know when the pirate parade typically ends? I might be able to move the specialty dining to earlier, then let them burn off energy in kids club, pick them up from the kids club/ parade and then the Ice Show?

  6. We've already purchased the package for one device. I am now contemplating whether we should have purchased a second device for communicating on board. I'm thinking that we'll just wait and see if it's necessary?

The question I have is whether if we do decide to add a device on board they will charge the full $15 daily rate for it, vs. the $7.50/day for added device.

We've got some on board credit and are wondering what we'll spend it on at this point, since we've already pre-purchased all of our dining, excursions and drink packages.

  7. Awesome, thanks! It looked like last year they did Shrek characters on the first sea day, so that's what we booked, and it looks like that hasn't changed. Of course your itinerary is slightly different than ours, but I would imagine that they would stay consistent with the order of the 3 lineups regardless of whether the first sea day/breakfast is day 2 or 3.
