  1. Hi curly wurly, yes, all 3 suites for our group were allocated at the end of last week, 14 days before departure date.

Everyone's happy and we're all set, just a few days now before we leave for Hong Kong.

How about you, any news yet?

No news yet, I keep checking every day, along with re writing my packing list. Can't believe I still get so excited about going on holiday. Mind you, its not just any holiday it's a Seabourn cruise!! We have only opted for a basic window suite guarantee, and having stayed in 430 on the Quest before, we were quite comfortable and had no complaints. We have been upgraded several times in the past, but don't expect it. We are just happy to be on board. Hope you and your gang have a fabulous time. I note that Captain Mark Dexter is now at the helm and I have been checking out his blog. Puts us in the mood!! Curly Wurly.

  2. I have the opposite problem. Although my passport is less than 5 years old, I only have a couple of single pages left. I have a few visas in there and loads of stamps from cruise travel, and I have to have at least 2 pages clear to get my last Indian visa. When I get back from my next trip, I will have to get a new passport and pay the full amount even though I have 5 years left. I will be sure to get the extra pages passport next time.

  3. We were in the middle of an 18 day cruise on Odyssey in October, and the Maitre'd asked us for our suite number, and told us there is a new system in place. He typed it in at the reception area and it was a little unnerving...there was a whirling noise and we thought it sounded like a till receipt being processed!! Heaven forbid I thought we might be getting a bill!!

  4. We did 30 days as a segment during the Quest world cruise this year from Hong Kong to Dubai and enjoyed it enormously. There was no problems with staff service for the newbies, and crew knew our names almost immediately.

The only thing I noticed, was the evening entertainment in the club was somewhat subdued. I suppose it was because the whole world cruisers didn't want to party or dance after dinner, and as some were quite elderly they preferred to retire to bed after dinner. We felt sorry for the singers and or band who often played to little more than a dozen people.

  5. Don't worry, there are no bad suites on Seabourn, I'm sure you will be happy with whatever suite you are given, and you will get a suite. We always book a guarantee and have often been upgraded. We are leaving Athens on12th Oct and still have no suite number yet, and have been allocated at check in on previous cruises.
