I'm booked on the Dawn in 10500 for Nov, 3 ladies. This room is bigger with a picture window because it is right below the bridge and the bridge overhang is above you. 9002 has opened up has a very large balcony 258 vs. 135 for 10500, but cabin size is 314 vs. 378. Questions are the following:
Does anyone have any recent pictures with refurb on any of the SE suites? The cabin 10500 has a full size leather sofa (before refurb) vs. a love seat in 9002. That is what is keeping me from switching, but if they changed out the furniture and these 2 rooms now have the same sofa bed, I might switch. I'm torn over bigger balcony (may be more windy) vs. smaller cabin - larger cabin - smaller balcony (may not have sun and may be tight to get 3 out there). Also on the 9th deck with such big balconys do you have the people above you looking down at you (privacy).
Any info would be appreciated, I have searched here, youtube, google etc. No new pictures.
Personally I would stay with 10500 since you have three adults in the cabin. I think you'll appreciate the extra space. My wife and I have stayed in 10000 which is the same as 10500. Yes the balcony is a little smaller but we liked the extra space inside. It's a great cabin.

Our first trip to Bermuda, not really sure what to do. I'm thinking beaches on Sunday, explore on Monday and go shopping on Tuesday
Your plan sounds fine. Since you're in a suite you get to disembark first. There are buses and minivans to take you to the beach on Sunday. Monday is a good day to entertain going to St Geirge. There's a ferry at the dock near the ship. I might suggest checking out the Bermuda board for ideas. It's under the heading ports.

Thanks njhorseman.
I hope one industrious driver is out there for me.

Would anyone know if the vans would start as early as 8:30 am on Labor Day? I'd like to head out to Horseshoe before the Anthem arrives at 9.

They might/might hav raise the price due to improvements in dry dock while includes those heated tile loungers.
I checked my sailing (9/2) under myncl today and the price is still $119. Like anything, it might go up soon.

October 16,17,18 it is. There's another week in October when the other ship in is smaller.
-
You might want to check out the link below for info on the Dockyard. My kids always like to jetski and you can do that at a place right next to the ships. I don't know the name of the place or cost but they enjoyed it.

I believe it is 5 Bermuda time ( 4 east coast time)
-
I believe the pre-cruise cost for the week is $119 which is $20 less than signing up on board.

Thank you Charles - I appreciate the quick response. The pictures make it so easy for me to know where I'm going.

Hi
Is there visible signage as to where you pick up the mini bus to Horseshoe and does this operate on Sunday's and Holidays?

I have a question… are those the new menus…..they look exactly the same as the old ones, just checking. Thanks
On another thread, about the Dawn, a cruiser stated the new menus would start with the 7/1 cruise.

I've stayed on the Gem in 9004 & on the Jade in same OS & the 2 balconies are amazing, the front one is good for sunbathing, coming into ports best view plus if u sit at back u can get shade, the side balcony is shaded & pretty much wind free. I found the Haven on Jewel ships for me not worthwhile visiting as pool the size of your bathtub & the whole area felt like a sauna & it's not like there is a bar or anything there. Just small pool, for hot tub, chairs & a table with coffee, cookies laid out. Truly on both Gem & Jade walked up once just to check it out. I think u will be more than pleased with Gem OS.
It was just the 2 of us in the OS, I'd stat 4 with the other 2 were children but if they were adults I'd got for the 2 bedroom suite.
I agree. My wife and I were in 9504 on the Gem this past March and loved the cabin. I was worried about the Haven being a few floors up but honestly didn't use it much (maybe 3 days over the 10 day trip). The Haven didn't do much for me. The cabin's front balcony is amazing and we spent our sea days on it and never had issues with wind. I don't see three in the cabin being an issue.
Whatever you decide, enjoy.

Another perk if you choose an owner's suite is 3 bottles of liquor plus mixers, soda and water.

Good for you! It's nice when persistence pays off. :)
Yes, I was shocked when the category didn't say "sold out". I didn't believe it until I made the call.

Over a year ago I booked a 2 bedroom suite on the Dawn, since all the Owners Suites were taken. I checked the NCL website weekly hoping one would open up - with no luck.
Today was final payment day for my 9/2 trip to Bermuda and I gave the site one more check. Yes, 9006 had opened up! I grabbed it and now the countdown to September begins. So happy I checked.

If you google NCL POA 10502 you'll find a short video of the cabin. It will answer your shower/bathroom question.

If you're interested there's a 10 day cruise, on the Jade, out of Tampa starting 1/15/2017.
The ports are similar to the Gem cruise you mentioned.

Very spacious cabin and exceptionally large balcony. But, my personal preference is either #10000 or #10500. The balcony is large enough but the cabin is incredible for the bumpout under the bridge.
Agree. We thought the bump out made the cabin feel more spacious while still having a good size balcony.

Wow, amazing colors in your photo. Great pic!

We are in the owners suite but plan on visiting the Haven on the Jewel often. I know some are saying on here to ask your butler to bring you a drink but that is not covered under the UBP. But can you get a UBP cocktail ordered to the courtyard in the Haven through the courtyard valet?
My wife and I were on the Gem in a deck 9 owners suite back in March. We were in the Haven several times and the Haven butler honored out UBP. It was very nice having a glass of wine in the hot tub.

My wife and I are sailing on the Dawn, on Labor Day weekend, and it looks like we'll have a healthy amount of kids. A number of cabin categories are sold out. Adults or kids we are going go have plenty of company.

When we were on one of our cruises to Bermuda on the DAWN, the suite meals were in LaCuccina while we were in port.
Not a big deal, just curious. As you can see, we've sailed the Dawn numerous times (in a suite) and never ate in La Cucina for our suite meals. We'll be on the Dawn this September so we'll see what happens.

For me it would be the Dawn. I like the size better for getting around the ship.

Your assessment is correct. The balcony is big enough for two loungers and there is some extra shade depending on the direction of the sun. I love big balconies but do like the extra space inside if the weather is crumby. We have always gone deck 10 and either 10000 or 10500.
Happy sailing!
