Waiting to hear more details about the partnership with Hard Rock and whether we will get some great hotel deals.

I think this was in the making for a long time.  It cant be a coincidence that the three levels of play for the hard rock (unity) are Icon, Star, and Legend.

Is it true that the 3rd Icon class ship will be called Legend of the Seas?

There was just an announcement that we're making a detour to to Bermuda for a health emergency of a crew member.  Thoughts and prayers with the crew member.    🙏

Hope everybody is fine.  we have made two emergency stops at Bermuda, both on Anthem.  We stayed out at the entry of the channel and literally anchored one time. They will most likely come out to pick up the crew member.  Be sure to be on the top deck as it is an interesting process to watch play out.  Dan

We are currently on the ship and the food has been nothing but  below average like a MSC dining experience

Can go to our favorite restaurant 10 times and may not be happy 2 or 3 times.  Sign of the times with so many variables in place.

Your next Azamara dinner may have a hair in your Fettuccine.  Ill be looking for you on the Azamara boards for your comment

Do yourself a favor and don't line up. I've seen people down there at 5:30 AM for a 7:15 departure. We now wait till about 15 minutes after they start the process and head down (in usually an empty elevator) and walk right out and off and are through customs in 10 minutes.  Why wait stand in line for 2 hours - ridiculous.

We did this on Wonder 3 weeks ago.  Out in no time

We are in Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan today -- and we took the glass bottom boat and saw some coral and sea turtles.  The island was beautiful!  Here are a few photos....

Thanks  LADYZOLT for getting this thread back in topic.  It was going to hell in a hand basket with some slim pickings about the cruise itself.

    your pictures are awesome.

At the first convenient opportunity after boarding we always go directly to any one of the specialty restaurants and talk directly to the maître d who then books all of our restaurant reservations for the week.  Typically takes about 10-15 minutes but all is completed and confirmed by them at that time. Our preference with this versus the kiosk is dealing with an individual who can confirm our choices. In this case, perhaps go to Izumi / Hibachi on deck 4 portside to have this taken care of.

We just got off Wonder 3/10.  We went to Chops immediately to book all of our Specialty reservations.  They stated they are not longer doing hibachi reservations at the other restaurants.  They made us go to Izumi directly.  At 11:25 AM there were 30 people in line out into the hallway already.  We waited about 40 minutes and by noon time the only thing they had available was at 9:15 at night.  We booked it anyways.

As we all know every experience is different depending on many variables but that was our experience just a couple weeks ago.

I will say there was 3 in front of me that were Pinnacles and they were not at all happy that they could not provide anything earlier for them.  There was no better options for higher status under these circumstances anyway.

  7. They can make this everybodys favorite stop their least favorite stop in the blink of an eye.  We all know its a numbers game but also a balancing act.  Over running that island with 3 ships a day is a recipe for disaster in my opinion.  The semi-laid back feel it has now will turn into a race off the ship in the morning just to get places to sit. Long Food lines will be the norm and the shuttles constantly backed up.

We will be going from Perfect Day to yelling MAYDAY!!

They just announced they are transitioning to a salvage operation  That implies to me that the will be removing steel keeping in account there sre still bodies present.

Yes, sounds like they are in the mind set that they are in the vehicles like the other two that were recovered today.  Those cars are underneath a lot of steel they said on the news tonight.  All makes sense.

  9. For every day that these poor souls are at the bottom of the Ocean you can add another day to our predictions for when this channel opens up.  This is a grave site right now and until all of these bodies are recovered nothing else is going to move.  I have not seen any news today about recovery  but until all six are accounted for no steel is coming out of the channel and the ship probably will not be removed.

Well, I'll go with what Chief said above.  Nobody "approved" this as cruise line approved.    And based on prior discussions on this board, having the three prong plug on the back means you can't tell for sure by looking at it if it has surge protection or not.  So, their default will be to confiscate.

The charger i carry has only two prongs. I chose to not purchase this unit because their claim of being cruise line approved is pure marketing.

But thanks for playing along, we have some nice cruise line pens as your parting gift.

I appreciate the pens and I’ll be sure to use them to write you off.😉

I’ll continue to use my outlets on my future cruises like my last couple dozen.  Hopefully I don’t run into the same employee as that poor cruiser did or We will obviously go without for that cruise.  1st world problem.  We’ll be fine.

I’ll send you a couple RCL key chains in the mean time.

    Happy cruising!!

The words that strike fear into the hearts of adults who might want a more "tranquil, private moment cruise", booked that moment only to find after they booked that 'Royal' change the cruise to

    'Kids Sail Free',

    😱

The kids sale free was a Brilliant scheme by RCI.  It’s like giving crack to people to “hook em”

Once mommy and daddy give those kiddos a taste of cruising.  They are HOOKED.  Throw them a crown and anchor number and their lifers.

Cost the company a bunch of kids trips to the windjammer for minimal buffet meals.  VOILA HOOKED!!
