  1. I agree  about the  beds at the pool.  At my age they are also difficult to exit and enter but I  have found the lifeguards are able to assist me as I try to get a bed near the end   where the guard stands.  I love the pool and we try to be the first ones there as then I feel it is like a private oasis.  The pool was packed later in the day on the 2 times last year I was there.

  2. Thanks for the advice.  I just checked for my Thanksgiving cruise and price  dropped about $40 so cancelled and rebooked.  This is  the lowest I have been able to book the  beach Club, which  I think is great.    I prefer the pool, close bathroom, and great lunch  at my age.  But to each his own.

  3. There were issues getting off for the ports using the walker.  It was very  disorganized, and  I know people in wheel chairs and some  with strollers were having  issues as well.   Most of the staff actually were very nice but the system to get off was not.   Getting back on using a walker also took time. I had been on the Oasis in August and after having issues, and discussing with Guest Services,  the staff then was wonderful when getting off and on the ship.  Not so on the Anthem.

I also found some other cruisers pretty rude because of my using a walker,  but that is not the fault of RCCL.   I  do. not use the  walker all the time but it has amazed me how horribly people who are handicapped can be treated.

  4. I was on the  Anthem for the last Thanksgiving cruise and I  use a walker.  I suggest you make sure Guest  Services knows about any disability if you did not already let them know.

I did not find the ship particularly handicap friendly.

There is a special tram for handicapped on CocoCay- thought you may know about it already from all your cruises.

I really liked the   Anthem.   I am sure you will too.

  5. I was on the Thanksgiving cruise also.  I did not see many kids in the Solarium but   perhaps it depended on where you were sitting. We were in a Jr. Suite and our attendant,  Irish, was fantastic.  We  only ate in Coastal Kitchen, Jamie's and  Wonderland for dinner.  The latter two  were great.  Service in CK was excellent, but the food was mediocre.   We actually really liked the lunch in 270.    I use a walker.    The kids I encountered where  fine-  most held the elevator for me. It was  some older  people, oddly, who  were rude. The  guys in Schooner Bar and Vintages were great. This was the first RCCL  cruise in a long while where I did not have issues and  had to spend  time at Guest Services.   RCCL still has to work in issues for people who  have mobility issues- Anthem was a mess on that.
