  1. Now that priority boarding is back …..I was hoping someone boarding the Horizon today could advise what the embarkation process was like on the Horizon.   Is there a separate waiting room for platinum and diamond guests or we required to wait with the masses?   Do the platinum guests get to board before suite guests?  Thanks

  2. Each cruise will vary but you can go to carnival.com and do a mock booking to see how many cabins are available.  Just note if there are 10 cabins shown for a particular category there are likely more than 10 cabins are available….carnival just limits the results to 10 for each category

  3. We always thought that we wanted YTD and chose that on our first 15 cruises.  Then we went with friends with little kids and agreed to the 6pm assigned dining and choose  it anytime we cruise now.  We now prefer the same table that is ready at the same time each night (gives us a set “meeting” place) with the same wait staff that know your preferences and has a cold drink at the table waiting for us.  It is more personable and generally quicker and in our experience “better” service.

  4. Our waitstaff in the MDR staff was horrible the first 2 nights (slow service, bringing out the adults dinner and desert before the kids even after asking for them to be served first so that they could go to camp ocean) but after a conversation with the matri D things have improved greatly.   Camp Ocean is not offering any services after 10pm (free or fee). The shape of the ship is average at BEST.  We were on the phone with Carnival for over 7 hours the week before the ship sailed to get the rooms that we needed but then when we boarded we discovered that they had moved one of the rooms that we booked due to “covid” protocols  then it took over 3 hours once onboard at guest services to get 2 balcony rooms next door to each other……and the ship is only sailing at 42% capacity!   Not sure why it took them so long to figure that one out!   They just kept telling us to “come back later”. Finally at 11pm on the day of embarkation we had rooms.  Another not so great thing was that on embarkation day, the toilets to about 1/2 the ship were not working. It took them about 2 hours to get that resolved. It has been nice sailing at reduced capacity….there are no lines for anything.

  5. We are on the Carnival Sunshine this week with a new piano player “Scott Harris”.  While he can play the piano and sing he does not offer “late night” / “adult” piano entertainment as they have on every other Carnival cruise that we have been on.  He even changes the words on the usual piano songs so that they are “G” rated.   The Fun Times states that the piano show is for 18+ However elementary children are right at home.   We were in the piano bar well past 12am and someone finally asked him about his adult show and were told matter of factly that HE does not have an adult show at ANYTIME or ANYDAY of the week.
THIS GUY BELONGS ON DISNEY NOT CARNIVAL!!!!!!!
