The sooner tips are included in the price the better. An extra 50 quid a week is nothing really and would stop all this moaning and whinging. Some posters wouldn't know what to write about, another bonus methinks.

It was a great cruise with pax all very happy to have seen the lights, maybe not so pleased with the cost of some excursions. Clever people on board. The progressive quiz team winners were particularly brilliant.

You have to do the Nutshell. It is the one trip on a Norway cruise that is a no brainer. Norway is great but unless you are going right up north the excursions are not so exciting. Splash the cash and go for it. Try and get to the train near the front to bag a good seat. And don't use a tablet to take pictures, so annoying for everyone near you.
Have a good trip.

And for anyone thinking of sailing with Cunard , same parent company remember, their very cheapest house wine is 35USD plus 15%. Or around 32GBP. Wine on Cunard is so expensive.
We drink Cloudy Bay Sauvignon. On P&O this is 30GBP. Cunard sells it at 60USD plus the rip off 15%. So double the price.
P&O coming out well here.
But Carnival must be laughing at the Cunard mugs paying double.

In La Corina try the trip to Santiago de Compostela. This is a pilgrimage site with everyone heading for the cathedral in the town square. Google it to see if it your sort of thing. We are not religious at all but it was still an awe inspiring trip.

Brian is completely correct. Sailing west the sun will be on the port side. Not surprisingly coming back you need a starboard side cabin if you want the sun. Obviously around the islands lots of course changes so probably everyone will get some sun on their balconies.

Hello. As a newbie to QM2 and we are just about to book a chunk of the world cruise 2018, will she be undergoing a refit before then. Will there finally be tea making facilities in the cabins. Any other changes planned please.
Thank you

Yes lots of trivia but completely American questions. On QV the pax were 92% Brits but every quiz was full rubbish Yankee questions. And many answers which were incorrect for the UK.
There was nearly a mutiny when the answer Gnasher was deemed wrong for the name of Dennis the Menace 's dog.

I have been up the Amazon to Manaus. They are very strict and you will need a Y-FRONTS vaccination. Last time I went they vaccinated everyone on board whether or not they already had had the vaccination.
Good luck.

We are on Oriana in Feb doing this trip. And have spent 1300 pounds on excursions. But no skidoo ride. We had to draw the line somewhere! But we are doing just about everything else in all the ports. Looking forward to this trip very much indeed.

Some of these 50% discount voyages are already sold out. We tried to book today but no cabins left. That was at 10 a.m. today. And only went on sale at 8!

Also check when is best for you. Late Jan and Feb more whales, penguins have chicks but elephant seals malting so they are pretty dormant. Nov or Dec lots of mating going on with associated activity. We did Jan in 2014. Best trip ever. We are back in Nov 2017.

We got an email from our TA yesterday morning with her itineraries. Mainly usual lot out of Southampton in the summer, but including smaller ports hurrah, then October to March in the Caribbean.
Lovely little ship.

It's a great cruise but on a SMALL ship. Then they can visit lots of small ports and the Scottish islands. Look at the ports stated on the Britannia cruise. Anyone living in the U.K. Would have been to all those boring big cities anyway.
I now read that Virgin are building 2800 pax ships which are being described as small. Give me strength.

We did three tours on day one and two the second day. Left knackered but thrilled. Wonderful place with extraordinary sights. We used all ship excursions but lots of people say the local tour companies are exceptional. Make the most of it, you may never go back.

Carnival Doing Well
in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Posted
It is making it quite expensive to buy the 100 you need to get he shareholder benefits. Maybe it is time for Carnival to up those benefits. Come on Carnival stick another 50 quid on the goodies. Or how about an option so shareholders get their gratuities paid.
