VISTA!!!! Disliked Everything about that over rated ship...crowded everywhere, no place to get any relaxation because there is way too many people in with that layout and size....We will stick to our older ships and actually enjoy our cruise!!!!

Darn, didn't see this thread, and just posted one similar...Sure wish someone would give some answers...We surely can't be the only 3 people who have wanted to do this...LOL
-
I am trying to figure out how to enjoy Little French Key, but also jump over to visit the Monkey & Sloth Hangout. We want to enjoy time at LFK, but I am not leaving Roatan without holding a sloth...LOL.
Any information that anyone may have, I would be so appreciative !!!

I have bought Totonacs's Mexican Vanilla in both Clear and Regular. I but the next to the largest and it is so cheap right there at the port in the first store to your right when you get thru to the shops. cheaper than buying anything in Cozumel and it is really good vanilla.

They don't necessarily make your pair of sandals. They are constantly making sandals, but they have stock of their sandals for you to buy.

Trying to find pictures of Carnival Freedom Cabin 7345. Listed as a 1A, but supposedly has 2 twins on the floor.
Anyone been in this caning recently or anyon have pictures?
-
Thinking about booking the Carnival Valor cabin 7345. Saw some old pictures where the beds are on the floor, but sure would like to know if anyone has been in this cabin recently and if it still the same setup or not. Any help would be so appreciated.

Anyone know of any special happenings aboard the ship for Super Bowl Sunday on February 5? I'm assuming that it will be Elegant Night, but maybe they'll be showing the game on the Jumbotron?
:)
Looking forward to being on this cruise in 3 days!! I am thinking that elegant night will probably be moved, but then again, maybe not...either way, I won't be worrying about the game as I could care less about either team playing, but it will still be a fun cruise experience for us!!!!
-
Does anyone have information how I can get in touch with Big E's Transportation. Looking for good reliable transportation on Feb 3rd from airport to Embassy Suites, and can't seem to find out where I can reserve with them. Any information will greatly appreciated!!!

Hi, please let us know how you made out walking to the port. Thanks again and enjoy your cruise. I am thinking about going down in May and I am going solo.
I certainly will let you know how we do with the walk to the port....I can't hardly wait for next Friday to get here and we just got off the Valor on Jan
19th, and I already need another cruise...LOL

After reading this post and watching some videos on the Havana Cabanas, I am glad I booked my aft wrap....I deal with people Monday-Friday in an environment where they are annoying....so when my husband and I go cruising, I do not want people time....Catagorize me any way you like, but my vacation time is meant for us to unwind and not feel like we have to be sociable if we don't feel like it, and those cabanas make it impossible to have any quite time without being looked at or heard....As someone said in an earlier post...to each their own, and that is exactly true....just very glad I saw this thread before I spent a lot of extra money to not be comfortable in my overpriced non-private cabana!!!!!
-
This thread has been a big help...I copy & pasted comments on directions to the port from the Embassy and the picture of the sign in the mall....We leave next Friday for New Orleans and going to walk to the port for sure!!!!
-
I can tell you that we were on the Valor Jan 14-19 and the back area hot tub was NOT nowhere near hot... actually fairly cool in it.

I see you are new to CC. It's against the rules to correct spelling or incorrect usage.
The poster corrected THEMSELVES!!!

I received one on our last cruise back in April from our sweet stewardess and went to the spa to see if I could buy a product instead of the spa treatment, because I don't do spa stuff...was told NO...no products..only treatments...and they were the rudest group of people I ever met on a ship....that was my first and will be my only trip ever to the spa!!!

Thanks bolin!
We are happy with our choice too!
Booking on Hotwire, the Riverside(which everyone talks about) would only save us $44 per day and we figure bkfst, drinks and apps could easily come to that so no real savings for us.
We are Hilton members and for their hotels I really prefer booking on their web site too so all in all looking forward to our stay!:p:cool:
I am hoping you will check in here and let me know how the walk to the port was. We are staying at Embassy Suites in Feb. before our Triumph cruise and I want to just walk, but sure hoping it is as easy as it sounds to do.

Thank You so much Saint Greg for so much information...It definitely is a big help to me...Since we are flying in on Friday instead, we decided on the Embassy Suites and taking the Julia St. streetcar to French Quarter for a little while in the afternoon and make our way back thru the Riverwalk mall and dinner at Mulates that night...and walk to the port the next morning...and I did do the Lofts room at the Embassy, but can't make up my mind if it is a good thing or not, or if I would like to have a high up balcony....LOL
I've never walked to the terminal myself. But if you walk it's just about 2 blocks from embassy suites to the riverwalk mall... that's the part of the mall that's near the cruise terminal. That's also where the Julia street car is at. You can take it to the French Quarter. If you were to walk from the embassy suites... it's about 6 blocks to Canal Street and 10 blocks to Bourbon Street.A couple notes on embassy suites....They have a great free breakfast in the morning. And at night from like 5:30-7:30 in the breakfast area they have free drinks where they give out little beers and hurricanes.
If you can get a room facing Julia Street. You may have a shot at a river view if you are high up enough. I stayed there a few weeks ago and was supposed to have a Julia street room but they gave that room to someone else and stuck me on the 6th floor facing commerce street. There was a huge air conditioner outside on that floor that was so loud not only would you not want to use your balcony...you could hear it with the balcony door closed. It was horrible!
It's been awhile but I've stayed at the Bourbon Orleans. It's on the far side of Bourbon Street. I don't think it's ever been on hotwire. I got it on priceline about 8 or 9 years ago. It was a nice hotel but like I said...it's on the far side of bourbon street. I liked royal sonesta and four points by sheraton (both bourbon street hotels) better and I've been able to catch them on hotwire on occasion. Astor Crowne Plaza is on the corner of Bourbon and Canal and is always on hotwire as a 4* in the french quarter/bourbon street area with 80% recommendation.
Out of Bourbon Orleans and Embassy Suites it depends on what you want. If you want to be close to Jackson Square and Bourbon Street, Bourbon Orleans....If you want to be close to the port and have the free breakfast/drinks....Embassy Suites. Both are nice hotels....Embassy will have a bigger room with a living room and balcony...unless you're in lofts then no balcony.

Thank you for the info...I printed this out to take with me in February....Now just one more question...How do you know if you are staying at the Lofts at Embassy...I could never figure out how to book the Lofts, but it seems my room I did book is a Loft room, but I am totally confused on the difference to book.
We are staying at the Lofts at Embassy Suites and am planning to walk to the port depending on the weather. It is right down the block from Julia St.
Here are the directions I copied from another post:
We just returned from a cruise out of New Orleans (March 2015) and have some current info for those that would like to walk to the cruise terminal from nearby hotels. (I believe there has been some renovations done in the port area since the last post here dated 2010, making it easier and safer to walk to the cruise terminal.)
From Convention Center Blvd, turn east onto Julia Street, going towards the RiverWalk Mall. (You'll also be turning toward the port itself.) Go up the escalators as if you were heading into the RiverWalk Mall. Upon entering the glass doors to the Mall, look ahead and off to your left and you will see a set of two elevators. The elevators are clearly marked with the words "Elevators to Cruise Ships". Take the elevators "DOWN" to the Royal Caribbean entrance, or follow the signs to get to the other cruise lines. When you emerge from the elevators, the porters will be right there to collect your bags and there will also be employees directing you to the entrance to begin the check-in process. We had stayed at the Hyatt Place on Convention Center Blvd and the total time it took us to walk from hotel/take escalator/take elevator/begin check-in was an easy 10 or 15 minutes.
For those leaving on Carnival from the Erato Street terminal -- you walk into the mall as explained above, but if you follow the signs for Erato terminal, you will not be directed into the elevators. You will walk outside to some steps down to the terminal. It's more than one short flight of stairs. No problem with my one light suitcase, but something to be prepared for. A porter actually met us halfway up to help those who had heavier suitcases and we tipped accordingly.

Hello Saint Greg...I am looking to book a hotel for February 3, 2017, for one night before our cruise. I am trying to choose between Embassy Suites (so we can possibly just walk to the Carnival terminal), and the Bourbon Orleans...Thought you may could tell me if walking from Embassy Suites is even a possibility, and also how far would we be having to walk to get to the French Quarter...coming in early on the 3rd and hoping to get a little bit of NOLA in for the day and spend dinner at Mulate's.
I know the Bourbon Orleans in the heart of the French Quarter, and wonder if it would be a good option, with taxi fare and all... And also, is there a Hotwire hit for Bourbon Orleans at all?
Sorry for all the questions, but I am totally confused on which route I should go with the hotels.
Thanks for any information you can help with...
I'm doing good. I've never stayed at that Marriott but that sounds like a good price. It has 4 stars on trip advisor. I stayed 2 blocks away at the embassy suites a couple weeks ago. The closest streetcar stop is going to be the riverfront street car at Julia street. It's right by the riverwalk mall. That takes you down to the French quarter. If you get off at the first stop by Hilton riverside you can get on the canal street car by harrahs and go down canal street....get off that at st Charles and get on the st. Charles streetcar if you want.
Make sure you purchase the day passes for the streetcar. It's like $3/day....they may still have a 3 day pass if you're going to be there that long.

Which excursion is the Fury Catamaran? I can't find it on the Carnival site by that name and want to book it for our January cruise.
-
Absolutely no rhyme or reason to their thinking...I received my DOU card late the first night on board back in April, and almost hit enough points to have done it again....Kind of thought we would either have a letter the last day or have an email or something...so far NOTHING....but an aquaintance of ours barely played in the casino and got an offer in the mail recently...REALLY Carnival?

This is early out for me, but I am making a folder of our itinerary when we finally sail the Eastern route on our next cruise.
I already have Key West under control, because we are just gonna hang out and stroll around and spend the day on island time...
At Nassau, I am thinking we might like to take the water taxi over to the Atlantis marina area and just take in the area for a couple of hours and then head back to to town area and look thru the market and maybe see the Queen's Staircase, and then find a place to sit and have a couple of drinks before getting back on the ship. Is all of this doable? If not we will probably just not do Atlantis, and do a walking tour around Nassau...Any thoughts? oh an maybe some recommended places to grab some good food would be appreciated too..
And then Freeport, it looks like we may just get off and shop the Straw Market and visit a bar/restaurant type establishment...Any suggestions here would be great...we won't stay off the ship too long and will enjoy more ship time, but thought since we have never been, we should at least touch our feet on Freeport...LOL
Thanks ahead of time for any and all suggestions !!!

Red Frog/Blue Iguana Souvenir Glass
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
I am wanting to buy one or the other for our upcoming cruise and then refill it with frozen drinks to receive the discount each time. But I am wondering if I buy one glass from either place if I can use it at the other (example: I buy my souvenir glass at say Red Frog, but I want to get a frozen drink from Blue Iguana, can I use my Red Frog Glass for the Frozen Drink special price, or will I need a Blue Iguana glass too)?
