  1. Having just gotten off the Marina today I'll agree with the pour. It's a standard 1.5 oz pour. I did the math when we got home and between the cruise, beverage package and tips it's basically a wash between Oceania and Silversea.

  2. Just back from our 7 day Miami round trip cruise!

Getting on the ship in Miami was a piece of cake. We found a spot at Waves to have lunch and waited for our cabin to be ready. Promptly at 1pm they announced our cabins (PH2) were ready.

The cabins 11001 and 11003 were clean, beautiful and spacious. Antony (our butler) came to greet us and answered any questions we had. Antony really was wonderful and very attentive throughout the entire cruise. Anna was the young lady that took care of our cabin and she and her team were amazing.

Food on this ship is fantastic! My first two years of college had me majoring in Culinary Arts. I LOVE food and hands down the food on Marina is the best I've had on a cruise ship. There are so many wonderful things to eat on this ship that the only drawback is the clothes that fit getting on don't fit by day seven.

    The service.........well.......

The service is really hit and miss. It's a shame considering the ship and the quality of the food. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to complain and I get the fact I'm on vacation. In fact I really didn't care, I just noticed it.

I actually wondered if the lag in service is due to the fact that the staff has to figure out who is and who isn't on a drink package and if so which. The staff seems to spend a lot of time dealing with the cards and ringing up every order. I don't know if there is a better way of going about it, but to be honest having to hand a card over and have the staff run and charge it every time is a miss use of the staff's energy.

    The entertainment was ok.

Entertainment is personal preference. If it were up to me there would be jazz instead of a string quartet prior to the dining room. The two shows we attended were ok. The band at Horizons was good, but so few came to watch and dance.

Getting off the ship today was super easy and I think we must have been the first through customs. It was so easy that we made a earlier flight home.

All in all it was a great experience cruising on Oceania.

P.S. If you don't order the Sea Bass at Red Ginger you are truly missing out.

  3. Rome is probably one of my favorite cities in the world and I've been there over a dozen times in the last few years. I'm not a fan of tours and always recommend just to start walking. Don't expect to see everything or the entire city on one trip and don't try. Relax, pick a area you want to explore and take your time. Stop to have a drink, to eat and people watch. I sometimes feel like people and particularly tours try to push too much at once and then end up missing the magic of a city. If you want to do the Vatican it will take at least a day. The Colosseum and some of the surrounding area also is an entire day. Those to places are just a sliver of what Rome has to offer.

  4. 3 weeks out and I'm getting excited about our cruise. We now have two PH3 cabins with GTY status. I checked today and the PH3's are now waitlist. Does that mean they are all booked? Since we don't have cabin assignments I'm assuming that they might have to give us PH2's. Is that correct?

  5. Hi all!

This is the first time I've booked on Oceania and the first time I've been GTY.

I'm not one to stress and as long as I get at least the A4 that I booked for myself and the PH3 for my neighbors or better I'm good.

I'm just curious how do I find out how full the ship is booked to?

When do they assign cabins? This cruise in on Feb 18th 2017 which is just over 3 weeks away.

When can I purchase the beverage package?
