Is there much distance from 66 to 91 in terms of mileage? We are sailing again with Princess next year to Alaska.

The distance is approximately 4 miles. Not really walkable. I am attaching a map.  Pier 91 is in an area known as Magnolia. Pier 66 is city of Seattle. Ride shares readily available.

    Happy Cruising!

Are you just posing this same question on all cruise line boards?

I took the time to thoughtfully respond to your query on the other board, but it seems like you just want to start a tipping thread everywhere.

I was surprised to see Bird replying on this forum.

BirdTravels Well known on NCL forums. Always good information and advice from this poster.

    I agree, very suspect.

Good catch.  7 night cruises out of L.A., likely to Baja California.  I'm in San Diego, so that's fairly convenient.  I've already sailed on Bellissima, but we had a nice time.

We live in Seattle and spend winters outside Los Angeles. Looks like many more MSC cruises may be our future.

I’m thinking Alaska and L.A year round. Prior to the pandemic MSC was working with RCI and another cruise line (I think NCL) on a new terminal for Seattle. Of course the pandemic stopped the discussion. I’m guessing that they want to expand across more U.S ports.

    Seattle has two cruise ports.
Pier 66 is exclusively for NCL and Oceania.  Recently, NCL renovated this pier to be able to accommodate the newer mega ships they were bringing for Alaska Cruises.

This terminal has direct access ( walkable) to Pike Place Market and the city.

Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91 serves as homeport for Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean.

Currently, there are no plans for a new cruise terminal.

  5. When we sail Fantasia Class on MSC - Divina for example, we book executive suite to be able to have a walk in shower. Other choice would be the Handicapped accessible cabin. Royal Suite on that ship has tub/ shower combo and no hot tub on balcony. On Meraviglia, no issues in YC DS or RS😁

Looking at Seashore now for either RS or OS. We may do B2B with RS one week and OS second week , (for research, of course)
Took extended family on Disney cruise and we all concluded it was over promised and under delivered on the Concierge experience.

Next extended family cruise is booked on NCL Haven. Will be interesting to see their reaction to NCL product.

Life is short , happy cruising.

We had no problems at all last week getting cans at the Haven Lounge when we would ask. This didn’t matter what time of day or even if we asked for 2 at a time. They were always more than willing to hand them out.

Which ship were you sailing…wondering if this is ship dependent.?

SIL is your husband's sister, not yours, right? 🙃

Thanks for pointing that out. I meant our daughter and son in law.

I think SIL can be used in this case.

My DH and I did this on our last cruise. You'll just need to get your keys changed at guest relations after you get on the ship. We were staying in the Haven and the concierge took care of it for us so it was quite easily done. Not sure how difficult it will be at guest relations. It was definitely worth it!

Thanks. We are  going with Haven bookings.glad it will work.

  9. DH and I are both Platinum. We are looking to book cruise with DD and SIL.

If I book one cabin in my name with daughter and book second cabin with DH and SIL, then each cabin would received Platinum vouchers for dinners,?   Wondering if this would work? Thx

  10. Disney released change to DCL castaway club levels achieved by sailing.
If one has no cruise booked or completed by 5 years from last cruise, status is lost.

Interesting change to program….many are not happy with this development.

Sail every 5 years or lose Castaway Club Loyalty Status
Please direct all complaints to Disney.

  11. Effective December 21, Disney has made a change to age requirements for kids clubs.

    • It's a Small World Nursery: 6 months to 3 years old
    • Oceaneer Club and Lab: 3 to 10 years old and fully toilet trained
    • Edge: 11 to 14 years old
    • Vibe: 14 to 17 years old

    • Note, Oceaneer Club no longer allows kids to 12 years of age.

I’ve ever only cruised Disney but because of price, in part, I’m going to give Virgin a try.

You might also look into MSC Yacht Club.

We feel this is a superior product.
MSC was very big in Europe and now is  sailing east coast of US.

Out of NY, Port Canaveral and Miami.

We hope they come to Seattle soon for Alaska sailings.

  13. We just returned from Disney cruise on Magic , out of San Diego. We took our daughter /SIL and grandkids. They are big devotee’s of Disney.

We are older and have about 35 cruises under our belt. This was their first cruise as a family.

4 day cruise went well. No issues with sea sickness.( trial run for future)

First time on Disney for us. We did Concierge cabins. Having sailed products like Haven and Yacht Club, interesting comparison.

We had 1 bedroom cabins. 2 bathrooms in cabin is a definite plus for level of cabin.
Cost came out to about $4,500 a day for cruise. 4 adults and two kids , under 8.

Pretty expensive , as premium cruise products go.

Cabin design was great. Daily service was “hit or miss”.
Concierge lounge very small but very nice refuge. No sun deck or pools.

No exclusive restaurant . Small snacks and coffee machines.

Disney fans are used to standing in lines, and there were plenty of long lines for every special event. Character meets and photo ops.

    Nightly entertainment was very good.

Food was average and not an upgraded product as one would have in upper level cruise products.  Servers had difficulty getting our orders correct.

Last two days, big push for cruisers to please tip everyone extra in addition to DSC. For first time cruisers, perhaps helpful . For us, we always tip those who made our experience onboard special, in some way. Personal decision.

    So, yes, very expensive.
But, Disney fanatics are willing to pay for any Disney product.

Thank you - I found people posting about it for other ports and I wasn't sure if it was dependent on port/ship or across the whole line.   It's a really great service - I'm surprised they don't offer it.

This is a service offered by some airports .
Seattle international is part of Port of Seattle and they do offer this .

You sign up on cruise and give your info regarding airline, flight etc.

service is free and many who cruise out of Seattle enjoy this service as they are able to take time touring city etc.

Disney sails out of Vancouver for Alaska cruises. Not sure if they have this service.

  15. No flower packages offered in pre-cruise offerings.
When we sailed in YC B2B , I asked our Concierge if he could arrange flower delivery at our first port .
He said this is not possible, only pre arranged flowers for weddings  are allowed to come on board at Bahamas.

  16. This is pretty much what I ended up doing.

Thank you letter with Gift Card  for very nice restaurant here in Bellevue.

His office mailed back form soon after.

    Interesting side note…

He performed two surgeries for DH within 3 months so we had quite a few visits with him. We discussed the vacation we needed to cancel and he wanted to know more about it, like which cruise line we sailed.  His wife wants to cruise but he hates crowds and needs peaceful downtime.

I did promote MSC Yacht Club as experience that both would enjoy.

After surgery, during his post op summery, he asked me to please write down name of cruise company and what we sailed so his wife could follow up .

  17. Just finished reading this thread.

This is just what I needed - YC cruise experience and trip report.
We had to cancel our MSC YC cruise 6 weeks before our sailing, DH had  disk re-herniation in L3-4 and now recovering from second surgery.
I have been busy filling out insurance forms for reimbursement of penalty amount.
(Getting a Neurosurgeon to fill out the Physician Statement paperwork was fun)
Very surprised how quickly MSC sent credits to bank account for excursions etc .

Looks like we can start the planning again, soon. 🙏

Thanks to all contributors I follow - appreciate your sense of humor. .I .really enjoyed your comments.

Especially to you, M, thanks so much  for the great report.
    Happy Cruising..

Might this be Mauricio, who used to be on Divina? We sailed Divina last October and this past January and he was the manager of Le Muse then. He is also a sommelier and would offer some excellent surprise wines to accompany those great YC meals.

He was on Divina, provided us with amazing wines at dinner.

I think that is what I was trying to convey.   Just make sure it is in the description.   I didn’t say that they had to be in the area.

As I wrote it is confusing and I am sorry if I made it more confusing

    Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

No worries, we are all here to help each other .👌
