I have followed WC blogs for many years now, and the logistics of home prep and packing it mind boggling. Bon Voyage to you folks boarding, can't wait to hear this adventure. Plus you are on my favorite class of ship.

I too loved his Live Reports...also followed along to his homestead threads. What energy he had, great dude who is missed. Actually found myself out that way on business so I rented a car to go see the area he was in. Wild times

Took this western on Aug 23, always remember as we were running from hurricane Andrew...

Anyhow, the itinerary was:

Sunday:   Board 

Monday:   At Sea

Tuesday:   Playa Del Carmen/Cozumel

Wednesday:   Grand Cayman

Thursday:   Ocho Rios

Friday:   At Sea

Satuday:   Coco Cay

Sunday:   Torn from our new homes. 

Though I prefer QM2 to the sisters, one must think of where you will dock in foreign ports...due to her size, QM2 is often relegated to the more industrial parts of the port that can be farther from town.

Alaska from SJC is pretty painless...nice choice of local restaurants in the concourse. I have always had good luck out of there.

One caveat. smaller town and airport than some of the international giants, but it can get busy at peak times so security can get behind. Other than that, easy access car wise, and the terminal is close to curb, no long walk out to the gates like LAX or something.

During Inaugural Season of Majesty, I remember leaving at full speed due to Andrew hitting shore a few hours after departure. Was eerie seeing the difference to Miami just a week later when we returned.

Captain even made mention of the added vibration as he was going all out to get away...I remember going to the front on the promenade and was amazed at the speed....

Also remember pulling up to Cozumel next to an old Celebrity ship and cheersing folks on that ship from Viking Crown. What they must have thought of this behemoth...

I would like to recommend Reyka Vodka...it is grain based, but is made from glacial water in Iceland and is exceptionally smooth. Used to be a Titos man, but this is now preferred.

Good Lord Andrew, Rick  and York....whew.

I feel like I need a break after your trip lol. You guys maximize your fun time and I dig it....I remember back when Oasis was being built and York and Andrew keeping the suite battle going. So awesome to see you guys out there doing it to the max!!

Ha! Nights In White Satin brings memories of when I was an FM radio operator, we always had that cart at hand in case of emergency as it bought us roughly 7 minutes to get the station back on air.

It’s clearly way too big for our tastes, and the styling isn’t me, but overall I have to say it’s pleasing. I really like the forward thinking features. The tender dock island is brilliant. Good to see lines starting to look at everything for possible improvements. 

I carry sea and pink salt, peppercorn grinder, my favorite hot sauce (pepper plant currently) and real maple syrup. This is for travel or restaurants locally...

You can make your own Red Lobster biscuits.

Buy a box of Bisquick.

Mix up a batch.

Add shredded cheese to the mixture (as much or as little as you prefer).

Drop spoonfuls on a pan.

Melt some butter with garlic salt in it.

Brush the butter on top of the biscuits.

Bake.

Add a touch of Old Bay to both mix and butter,.....then make 2 batches, as they will disappear as soon as you remove pan from oven...

Inaugural season of the Majesty we were to stop there, but we sailed the week of Hurricane Andrew so we ended up at CocoCay. I thought the documents stated Labadee, or whatever it was called at the time.

Another thank you to the collective of folks that told the tales of the voyage. So cool that technology allows us a day by day account..thank you for taking the expense and time you guys, I devoured every passage.
