  1. Has anyone done this? How fit do you need to be for the 3300ft walk uphill? How steep is the walk? Will it be very hot in May? How long is the walking part of the trip? If you struggle with walk can you stop and let the rest of group continue without you? What's the cable car part of the trip like? Do you get to see much volcano stuff? Or would you see just as much on the short trip where you only walk 650ft from the coach park?

  2. We're there new year's day too. A little concerned now you're saying EVERYTHING will be closed... but then it is a holiday... Am I right in thinking Willemstad would still be an interesting place to walk round and take photos? I think there are 2 ships in that day so fingers crossed something near the port will be open... otherwise is there a beach or park within walking distance?

  3. We're disembarking FLL and tsking ships airboat excursion ending MIA airport. We have a room booked in a MIA airport hotel that night as we're not flying home until next day. We are hoping that our luggage stays on coach whilst we do excursion and we make our own way from airport to hotel with it at the end. Will this work? I've read a few posts about luggage being sent ahead to the airport and we don't want this to happen. ...

  4. Hi, I need some clarification on something and sounds like you guys will know the answers. When we get off our cruise in FLL we're staying one night in a MIA airport hotel before flying home. So we booked the ship excursion on the airboat ending in MIA airport thinking we could then make our own way with our luggage to the MIA airport hotel. Will that work? You seemed to be talking about luggage being sent to the airport ahead of you. We'd want it to stay on the coach when we do the excursion. ..

  5. We stopped off here a couple of years ago with no plans made. There are several huts at the port exit that offer boat trips. We booked one on a boat that took around 15-20 people. I think we had to pay cash - but it was pretty cheap - maybe $25 each?? The tour lasted a couple of hours or so. We saw penguins swimming on the way out of port, then stopped by a couple of islands and got really close up to the seals on one island, and cormorants on another - this was due to the size and shape of the boat. We then stopped at another island for a walk and saw some interesting birds and enjoyed an amazing 360 degree view and the mountains that are the backdrop to Ushuaia. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting and she let us sample the herbal tea that you see the Argentinians walking around with in flasks, and gave us a load of history of the area and Argentina. After the trip we walked up the hill to the main street with shops and cafes, and stopped in a bar. It was a lovely relaxing day. After spending several days at sea prior to arriving in Ushuaia we had thought a boat trip would have been the last thing we wanted to do, but it was great to see the wildlife up closer.
