I use Chrome and I was being logged out on the weekend.

In a very small sample size, the issue seems to have lessened since Sunday night.

Hmm,  that's odd. I was on over the week-end on my pad using chrome and it was fine. Other than wiping the cache I cant think of anything else that might help.  David

We’re excited to share that we’ve introduced a new Online Check-in experience!

This new online system features several enhancements including:

    1.       A streamlined, easy-to-follow layout for a quick and easy check-in process up to three days prior to sailing.
    2.       Ability to upload your travel documents and security photo so you can save time at the pier and get onboard faster.
    3.       Control of your onboard expense account with the ability to establish spending privileges for each member in your party.

You must have an account with Azamara to use the new Online Check-in system for your upcoming voyage.

Visit My Account to sign in (or create a new account) and click Check-In to get started.

[Please note, your reservation must be paid in full to access Online Check-in.]

Thanks Bonnie.  We had checked in using the old system,  but this looks like a step in the right direction.  The photo upload option in particular is a good idea.  I also downloaded the App which again is pretty good,  particularly for anyone who is new to AZ.

HGC - it might be worth adding a note about the App to the newbies sticky?  David

I have been reading reviews of Pursuits latest cruises and am worried.

so many negatives and bad experiences.

i am hoping that this cruise lives up to our last one which was on Journey.

according to the reviews food and  entertainment were wellbelowwhat was expected.

lets hope they have got their act together before we sail.

We are on the same cruise Footlady.   I really wouldn't worry.   There will naturally be some kinks to iron out with a newish crew/ship,  but we have a great senior crew in Captain Carl,  Ryszard (hotel) and Tony.  If there are any issues,  raise them straight away with Ryszard who is a superstar and will fix anything and everything if there is a problem.  David

    Hi Brenda

In the end did you book cabin 6027 on Journey back in 2017?

We are looking to book the same cabin on the port side and we are wondering if the interconnecting door is a problem. Is there much noise coming through the door, and do they have seat to place the lost couch?

    Thanks

    Brendan

Hi Brendan,  we have sailed in 7025 on Quest which has a connecting door with 7027.  No noise issues at all.  Its also a good spot on deck 6 as you're far enough away from the Cabaret Lounge below,  and are close enough to the stairs / elevators.  David

  5. I was in back to back meetings all afternoon,  and missed a call from an international number I didnt recognise....in fact I might not have picked up had I seen it.  So many scammers around.  There was a voicemail.  AZ in Miami.  Please call back, we'd like to offer you an upgrade.  Duly called back and am now in N1 from V3 on deck 7.  We are Explorer,  and made the request the day we booked which was mid May 2018.   Not sure how long they would have kept this 'open' for us,  but there has to be a limit, in fact there is as the agent had to go and see what was still available (heart in mouth as I waited).

Over the years on different adventures we've had a few surprises/comps/upgrades.  This is up there with the very best.  Thank you AZ.  David

    PS we sail 24th Feb.

  6. Thanks for sharing uktog.  Sounds unusually hit and miss, albeit there are more positives than negatives.  The general service levels, follow ups if there is an issue etc. is what sets AZ apart.  Or at least it used to.  We board pursuit in a month,  and will keep an open mind but thank you for the insights.  David

Somewhat related, is there a list or count somewhere of the number of different types of cabins on each of Azamara's ships?  Whenever I look at our booked cruises of course I can see the number of cabins remaining by doing a count via a mock booking, but I've never seen how many total cabins there are anywhere (albeit I've never looked--this post made me wonder about it).

No its a manual count im afraid,  and when you think it through from a commercial perspective, the last thing you want a prospective customer to easily know is what the free availabily is. You never book a hotel room and see whats avail. Supply and demand is what drives value/price, and in the longrun profit.  David

We too have had an ocean view to Verandah upgrade, but never a Verandah to CC.

On our upcoming cruise on 24th Feb,  Inside and OVs are sold out but there are over 75 balcony's available,  so there are going to be some happy campers on our cruise assuming the upgrade fairy decides to appear.  Only six N1/N2 available,  so think we'll be out of luck.  David

The Journey to Monaco from Nice airport is usually about an hour by private taxi, or a bit longer by bus from the airport. Apparently Helicopter is much quicker but consequently much more expensive😀

We didnt do it but there is a train goes along the coast. I think from recall it was 25mins from nice to monaco.  Google and see what you can find.

If you have time, go to St Tropez and Port Grimaud.  It is wonderful.  PS everything is very expensive, no matter what you do.

  10. I like Skype for calls as the connection tends to be better than Whats App (that's what I've found anyway) but its not free unless over Wi-Fi.

Over and above the weather Apps,  I've downloaded an app called Timeshifter.  It's supposed to reduce Jet Lag by telling you when to look at light, be in the dark, drink etc.  I haven't tried it yet so cant say if it works or helps.  Will use it in Feb on our South American Cruise.

Lonely Planet is a good App.  A portable guidebook with interactive maps for major cities.

Flightstats is good if you have a lot of connections to make.  Shows you where the inbound plane is,  ETA etc.

Lastly,  Photocircle is a great sharing app if you are travelling with friends.  You all upload your pics to the one place so you can see each others pics.  Someone sets it up and asks the others to join.

  11. Its kinda sad to watch this happening and the bean counters at RCCL have got this wrong, with this brand.  You are polarising and marginalising your loyal, cheerleading customers.

The price for our cruise in Feb on pursuit has shifted around a bit but no more than a couple of hundred £.  However on another thread both Phil and i commented that there were over 100 cabins unsold on this particular cruise, and others.  There is no commercial sense in upping prices, then offering a promo that looks like but isnt a deal.   We are not idiots.

I cant wait to see what happens Monday.

  12. Hicupps, agree 100% about US airlines generally about upgrade to "extra".  We were in Kauai in October and AA wanted an extra $150 pp for this..... one way.  It was the same econ seat but on a bulkhead (next to the toilets i should add).

You dont say what airline you are on.  If you have booked club/business that is what you should be on.  You wont get bumped to PE.  Go to seat guru dot com , put in you flight number, route and date.  This will show you how many cabin classes there are or your flight.   You should also be able to choose seats in business. Go to your airline website type your locator and go from there.  David

  13. I have been keeping an eye on our upcoming Pursuit cruise on the 24th Feb and can't quite believe how many unsold cabins there are.  Virtually all of the Deck 8 suites are sold,  but there are loads of deck 6 and 7 cabins unsold.  I cant quite fathom it TBH.  Oddly the price has moved a little today by about £120 for an inside,  but the V3 - V1s look the same as they've been for months.  When we booked (ages ago), we did so thinking this would be a really popular cruise,  and we wanted to secure a cabin that we knew.  We managed to get LCV discount and an Easter promo that was running at the time, so are happy with what we paid.  Final payment is the 26th of this month,  so it'll be interesting to see what happens after that date.

  14. I think that is tight and there is little or no wriggle room if you hit a snag.

The main issue is that although you dock at 7am you likely wont get off anywhere near that time........ work to more like 8am.

The distance is only 20 minutes in a cab to the airport,  but you need to allow for traffic,  finding the right terminal, bag drop and then getting through Security and then getting to the gate.  Do-able,  but it's uncomfortably neat IMO.   David
