I stayed in the same stateroom as the OP (10296) and I’m here to tell you that it wasn’t that bad. Yes, you can hear the movie but it’s not that bad. It did not vibrate us out of the bed, we did not notice the walls vibrating either. We loved being right on the lido deck, in the heart of all the action. Literally steps from the lido deck/pool.
If you go to bed early, maybe this isn’t the stateroom for you. Personally, we’d book it again.
I hope this helps someone who freaked out after reading the OP’s review.

lol color me shocked that you didn't almost get vibrated out of bed!

I tried searching but couldn't find anything, sorry!
Trying to decide if it's worth $700 to upgrade from our regular interior to a Havana interior? We hate how crowded the pool gets.

No the gym/ spa area is not crowded. They limit the amount of passes they sell so it won’t get too crowded. If one room is a little full I just skip it and come back. Never had a problem coming back around and being able to use it. ;) Go into your booking and click on “manage my cruise.” Then click on “spa & salon services.” It’s one of the last selections on the list of services. I’m not sure if there’s a single pass but there’s definitely a couples spa pass for $229. You can get a single pass once you board if there are spaces left.
It doesn't look like there's any available. Is it possible that they could be sold out for my Nov cruise or do you think I'm looking in the wrong spot? I was looking amongst the rest of the spa treatments.

It depends what ship you’re on. The older ships without Cloud 9 spa allow you to use the hot tub and other facilities for free. But the newer ships like the Dream class and Vista class have the Cloud 9 spa which you have to pay for. All of them have big walk-in showers, gyms, and changing rooms with lockers for free. :) For our upcoming 8 day cruise on the Vista we purchased a couples spa pass for just $229. So for only $114.50 per person we have 8 days of kid free spa time. The Thelasso therapy pool has heated bubbly mineral water with built in loungers that put the other hot tubs to shame, and it’s huge. Plus there are multiple dry and wet saunas, heated loungers, steam rooms, and a cool down room with hot tea, ice water, etc. And since you have to be 18 or over to use it all, there are no kids. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Well worth the $14 and change that it costs every day. :D
This sounds amazing. We're going on the Horizon. How would I add the spa pass? Was the gym crowded?

Thanks for all of the replies! We're going to pass.

Please tell me you can still get steak and eggs?!?! I don't see it on the menu and it's the item I was looking most forward to!
-
Is there anything free for just a plain old customer and nothing special?
-
Is this worth it? It would be deck 2 on the Vista. I'm not even quite sure what a cove balcony is compared to a regular one lol.

In my opinion, cruise pictures always look really corny. I'd never replace an actual photo shoot for a cruise one.

If you had it sent to a Gmail account, check the Promotions tab. That is where I found mine. The subject said Rewards eGift Card. I was expecting it to mention AARP in the subject, but it didn't.
Thank you! It was there :)
-
How long does it take to get your e-gift card? I assumed instant but it's been 24 hours. I spent $450 so I want to make sure there's no issues.

So there really isn't another way other than waiting for a confirmation email from them to ensure you're set? I sent my request about 1.5 weeks ago and haven't heard back. Should I send another request?

We are trying to decide if the drink package is worth it. Is the drink of the day for a sligjsli cheaper price still a thing? How much does your average beer cost?
-
Where is the omelette station located?
-
Thanks for the replies. I will wait until the flight schedules have been released and see what works better for us.

We're cruising out of Miami in November. Flights appear to be better for FLL. Hotels seem cheaper too? How much would an Uber run from Ft. Lauderdale to the Miami cruise port? Are we going to regret not flying to Miami? We're coming in the night before so we will have time to kill.
-
Thoughts? We'll go to two of these restaurants on our Horizon cruise.

We have deposited $250 on a cruise for Nov. It would work easier to change our date for an Oct date. How flexible will Carnival be with this request? I don't want to call the 1-800 number and be on hold and stuff for all afternoon if they're going to be like sorry can't do anything.
-
I've never bought anything. I assume it's all overpriced compared to what I could get at the mall. Is that incorrect?
-
We paid $119/person for an interior cabin 5 days beforehand a couple of years ago.

Even though you’ve gone through a travel agent, you can still login to carnival’s cruise planner on their website and adjust certain aspects of your booking, including the dining. I changed my dining from early to anytime on my own even though I used a TA when initially booking. If you don’t trust your TA, log in and verify...
I meant to say that I do trust him we're on the wait list, I don't know that I trust him that he knows for sure we'll get off the wait list.
I would miss having dinner with the same group of people every night, that's the mean reason we don't want to do YTD. Any pros of this that I'm missing?
-
We're booked on the Horizon for November. My travel agent said that both early and late dining were showing a wait list and only Your (or is it My?) Time Dining was available. He said that he believes we'll get a spot for traditional dining, but I don't quite trust everything this guy says anyways lol. Opinions on wait lists for dining?

We booked our cruise! I haven't been following Carnival or these boards or anything lately. I feel like a newbie again! What do I need to know, must sees, etc? Does anyone have a link to the 6 day menus? We're going to Ocho Rios, I've never been before. Any insight? I plan on checking out the port of call board too.

Thanks everyone!

Another Buffalonian here! Going on the Horizon in November. Looking forward to more!
