That is not the issue.  The issue is there are Russian warships in the Baltic and near Ireland that are known.  I am sure they are in places we don't even know.  With that said, the State Department has issued warnings that Americans may be targeted in all of Russia, not just near the Ukranian/Russian border.   While I do not think anyone needs to panic, we do need to keep this information in mind so that we can make informed decisions based on the facts.  

Yes, the shared Super Shuttle will take other passengers that are in your area. I would book your Super Shuttle as a round trip.  Then when you get back in to port you do not have to worry about a ride.  

Huntington Beach is a good choice.  A little further south is Crystal Cove State Park(beach) that is pretty.  I like the areas south of Long Beach as opposed to the L.A. area beaches.  There is so much traffic and human congestion that it is not enjoyable for me personally.

Hi,  I would also go the route of a hotel near the cruise terminal.  Whether you are at San Pedro or Long Beach there is  Best Western Los Angeles Worldport Hotel that has decent rates.  I would Uber to the hotel, sleep, Uber to the port(either one).  

Taxi from LAX to Long Beach Cruise Terminal is approx. $70.  Uber & Lyft are approx. $40.  

Renew and request the bigger book so that you have enough room for your next 10 years of travel:)  Also, check with the cruise line - they may take care of some of the visa requirements for you.

I do know that the Platinum Photo Studio is now there but I don't remember if the putt putt golf still exists.

I have had good experiences with gf on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and DIsney.  On Carnival they make a gf Carbonara that is really good.  On DIsney their gf  Lobster Mac n Cheese is better than the regular one(all my tables mates did a taste test).  I also ate at Palo, Disney's specialty Italian restaurant and it was one of my favorite meals ever, gf or not.

Does anyone have any tips, tricks, secrets about QE?  We are sailing in January on our 1st Cunard cruise.  Are there best spots for reading, people watching etc.  Any food or drinks that are not to be missed?  Any "secret" decks?  Any info along these lines is greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

We will encounter the same situation in Cape Town this coming January. I called and spoke to a Cunard rep and they told me that it is run just like they just arrived at port that morning. She said I could expect to disembark with my luggage after 7am.

Hi,

Always best to have a Passport. If you need to fly back to the US for any reason you will not be able to without a Passport. Also, ID must be government issue. Either Driver's license or ID card. When you get off in ports of call you need to take your sail and sign card and your government issued ID. No need to take Passport off ship in port.
