  1. Thanks. I am just so disappointed by the way it was all handled. We were missed treated At The Port before we even left, they refused to give us a wheelchair when we requested one 3 times, we asked for a wheelchair but we made to stand in a mobility assistance area for more than 3 hours. Consequently both my mother and myself suffered immense pain and were very uncomfortable and were provided with no assistance whatsoever. This was before we even boarded the ship when things seem to go from bad to worse.

Had you contacted the Special Needs dept at least a couple weeks before the cruise?

  2. Since this is NCL's private island does that mean that the drinks and food are included? Sure hope so!!

Sent from my SM-N950U using Forums mobile app

Harvest Caye is not a private island for NCL. It is an enterprise shared with Belize so Belize vendors sell the food and drinks. Therefore UBP is not accepted.

  3. We are taking the Dawn on August 31 and my husband is hoping to golf at this golf club on Monday, Sept. 3. I know that transportation is not provided. Last year, my husband had asked if he could contact those who were playing to share a cab, but the cruise line could not do that. If anyone has golf scheduled for an early tee time, please let me know.

    Ask on your Roll Call.

  4. Just to note, in my experience on transatlantic cruises NCL provides an instructor/director who conducts duplicate games, beginner lessons and intermediate lessons on each sea day. I found all to be enjoyable and well-attended (12-15 tables). These events generally occupy a specialty restaurant that is closed during the day.

Cruising to Bermuda is not a transatlantic cruise.

  5. Looking for a copy of the reimbursement form that I need to fill out and email to NCL....

If you mean the one to get a refund for Service Charges you were supposed to ask Guest Services on the ship for the form and then email it after you get home.

  6. If all things go well, you could be off the ship and through customs by around 7:30. You need to be in line early with your entire group.

Last Sunday, all things did not go well. The ship arrived around 6:00. But there were delays in CBP clearing the ship, so self walk-off did not start until 8:00. And there was a line 45 minutes long in the ship to get off (we were at the 20 minute-to-get-off spot in line). We were on the curb at 8:40 and at the airport by 9:00ish (still in time for our 10:50 flight)

Was that FLL airport? OP is disembarking in Miami but flying from FLL.

  7. We will be sailing on the Breakaway out of NOLA during Thanksgiving -- a group of 10 of us. We sailed on Escape in June 2016, so I expect our experience to be similar. We've already made our specialty restaurant reservations and our MDR reservations for the week.

    Any must-dos on BA? Any recommendations on excursions, especially HC? We have 4 seniors (69, 71, 72, 85), 2 adults (40, 39), and 2 kids (9, 8).

    4 seniors, 2adults, and 2 kids is not a group of 10.

    Who did you leave out?

  8. I’m excited for our first true B2B, coming up this Christmas on the Regal Princess. We’ve done a couple of consecutive cruises on two different cruise lines in the past, but this will be our first time experiencing a true turnaround day when we return to Fort Lauderdale on a Sunday. Am so looking forward to my first time not having to get off the ship on the return to Port Everglades. I’ve always envied those who were leisurely wandering around or reading by the pool while the rest of us were schlepping our bags through the madness that is the Horizon Court on disembarkation day.

DS 21 and DD 19 have already decided that they will Uber to Sawgrass while DH, my friend, and I will possibly walk to the Harbour Shops area. So, my question is...what have YOU enjoyed doing on that turnaround day, regardless of the port?

In most US ports you DO have to get off the ship so it can be zeroed down. You can wait in a special area in the terminal and reboard when notified.

  9. First time cruiser and am having trouble finding an answer to my concern. I am confined to a mobility scooter and would like to know if the loading of passengers iat Pier 91 in Seattle WA done using stairs, ramp, combination ?

Scooters, wheelchairs etc are led to an elevator.
