  1. Hi everyone. Interested in your views/experiences. On all my previous cruises I have happily handed over my suitcase to a porter at check in and never had a problem

It arrived eventually outside my cabin . I've heard from a friend that her suitcase didn't turn up for a week and had been opened and items removed. These weren't banned items. We're talking about perfume and jewellery. She obviously followed this up but I'm wondering is it a common occurrence. Would I be better just taking my case on myself. Being without all your stuff would be miserable :(:( Any thoughts appreciated

  2. Hi guys. Looking for some advice as usual ! We are a family party of 8 and will be booking cabins with Pullman / sofa beds. Sailing on the Independence of the seas in an inside cabin. The children will be 4,5 and 6 at time of travelling. Do you have a preference? Are the Pullman beds like bunk beds i.e. high off the ground? Both options obviously take up a lot of room when being used but is one better than the other. Thanks for any advice

  3. Hi guys. Looking for some advice. I know you'll not let me down ! I'm planning to book the Independence of the Seas for a holiday next year. To say I've had a bad time lately would be an understatement. My husband died very suddenly 14 months ago, my mother died in April and I am now being treated for cancer (I will beat this thing) My 2 daughters have been amazing so I'm treating them and their families to this holiday. We will be a party of 5 adults and 3 children aged 4, 5 and 6. My original plan was for me to have a balcony with the 2 opposite inside cabins. The main priorIty is to have cabins together so I'm flexible about that. My travel agents has suggested booking 1 cabin for 4 and 2 for 2 as that would obviously be cheaper. Apologies if this is a stupid question but are all rooms equipped with a sofa bed. So if my grandson is officially in my room he could in fact sleep with his mum and dad. I'm not sure how well I will be but I definitely need my own room. Also are the Promenade rooms an option or has anyone found them noisy. Any advice/suggestions gratefully received

  4. Hi guys. Anyone any experience of using baby monitors on board. Hoping to be cruising on Independence of the Seas next year with my family. If the adults gather in one cabin for drinks, would a monitor work from the cabin next door. Many thanks in advance.

  5. Thank you. No intentions of paying for any movies! We just enjoyed the system on Princess where you can watch movies in your time over any number of nights.Hubby and I took turns choosing and caught up with lots we had missed in the cinema.

  6. Hi guys. We will be departing on our first NFL cruise next month. Can anyone tell me if we have a movie channel on our stateroom TV and can we watch in our own time eg over a clue of nights. Sad to say our partying days are over and we love to finish our evening with a cocktail and a good movie!!

  7. It's a nice way of watching a recent movie if you don't want to be blown away outside (as on the Anthem TA). Princess have introduced a great feature on Regal/Royal where you can watch movies, pause and come back to them later.

Also on Diamond last year in Japan. It was our way to wind down at the end of the night. Watch an hour of a movie (we took turns choosing) with a hot chocolate and cookies. Good grief we're getting old!!!!! Really missed that on the Anthem . TV was rubbish.

  8. Hi guys. Apologies for nor coming back sooner Have had great difficultly logging into Cruise

Critic - it has been a nightmare lately!! Thanks for all your input - I knew I would get lots of opinions. Incidentally I wasn't complaining about the weather. Anyone who books a transatlantic cruise in November should know what to expect. And my complaint about rubbish quiz prizes is influenced by our Baltic cruise in 2011 when we won 5 bottles of champagne. I guess its all downhill after that! We did a cruise to Japan last year with Princess and because our itinerary had to be changed they refunded all our money -£1400 of cruise credit. I was very pleased with that. Maybe every company would do the same I don't know. In all honesty ive never had a bad cruise, I was just curious about other people's experiences. And to prove we're not biased we has booked a RC cruise for next February and a Princess one for 2017 😀

    Happy cruising everyone

  9. We cruised on the Brilliance of the Seas last December and found everything to be below Princess standards. Dining room food was a huge disappointment, cabin steward hard to find. Etc etc.

Thank you. I'm not the only one then ☺

  10. You are rather comparing apples and oranges.

Princess is the "upscale" end of the Carnival company.

RCCL is the low end of their line; Celebrity is their "upscale" subsidiary.

I don't know if that might affect things.

Thank you. That reflect my experience I think.

  11. Hi guys. Would love your opinions on this. We are relatively inexperienced cruisers having done 3 on Princess and 2 on RCCL. We have enjoyed each cruise with Princess. We were underwhelmed by our first Royal Caribbean cruise but decided to give it another chance and we have just come off the Anthem after its transatlantic crossing. Again I felt RC were constantly penny pinching. We had to ask for toiletries in our cabin ,no tissues, rubbish quiz prizes . I could go on and on but the what took the biscuit was that there were takeaway cups in the Windjammer but no lids! This on a cruise where everything shut down for 2 days because of the rough seas! All minor things I know but it adds up to a feeling of being "nickeled and dimed" if that the right expression. I know this is very subjective but I would love to know your opinions. Thank you.
