  1. At Norwegian Cruise Line, the safety and security of our guests and crew is of the utmost importance. The company has been closely monitoring the adverse weather conditions forecasted to impact the Northeast and will be modifying the itineraries for Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Gem, to ensure that our guests have the best vacation experience possible.

Norwegian Breakaway will not call in Nassau, Bahamas today as previously scheduled. The ship will arrive in New York as scheduled on March 4.

Norwegian Gem will now call in St. Thomas, USVI on March 2 instead of Fort-de-France, Martinique as previously scheduled. The ship will arrive in New York as scheduled on March 6.

Should there be any updates, guests will be advised and updated information will be posted on www.ncl.com.

    Thank you for the UPDATE!!!

  2. Have you ever used trash bags to line your luggage, pack your things inside the plastic bag, twist/tie and if it rains and your luggage is sitting on the tarmac or dock waiting to load, luggage arrives cabin wet, but things nice and dry. When returning home. bag can be reused same, or wrap valuable trinkets in, dirty laundry or whatever you may need it for.

My last cruise my when my Luggage arrived to my cabin it was drenched, the room steward said to get it together and go to Guest Services and let them know - They would wash the clothes at no charge. From that moment I knew that if the weather is questionable, I WILL pack my clothes in Garbage bags so that I don't have to go through not have any clothes to change into after traveling to the port. I will also put a dryer sheet in the bag so that the clothes don't get that plastic smell....

  3. We take a travel mug with us to fill up. It is hit or miss as to where the best coffee is brewed, you’ll have to go on a scavenger hunt. We have gotten it from the Buffett it was ok.... you can also have it delivered at NO charge, there should be a slip to fill out and put on the door each night. That depends on if you want to wake up and answer the door at a specific time.

  4. I wanted to do the same thing for my wedding in Freeport via the Carnival Pride but was told there would be a fee associated for the bag delivery and they couldn't guarantee they would be in the rooms before the guests arrived to their staterooms. That said, my fiancé and I decided we would just hand deliver ours and personally thank each of our guests for joining us at the same time.

    That’s a great personal touch!!!!

  5. Luckily we haven’t experienced a BAD cruise with any of the cruises we have been on. We have missed a few ports because of weather issues, but it didn’t ruin the whole cruise. I look at the BEST parts of our cruises and let the not so great parts go by the wayside(not forgotten by any means). I always say if something happens it will become an adventure, and a great story to tell!!!

  6. Getting ready for our 10th overall cruise and 4th on NCL, cruising with friends that have never cruised before. Took advantage of the 10% off we receive on excursions and booked the large cabana for our beach day. It’s definently a splurge but it can get hot on the beach after a few hours and figured it would be special to do. Anyone have any cabana experience????

Best purchase ever!! We have done a Small Cabana and it was a lifesaver. you are close to the bar, and bathroom, and of course the BEACH! Enjoy every minute!

  7. Hey everyone,

I have been on several cruises and have never checked in separately. Do both parties in the room need to check in at the same time? After dropping off the bags and DW, I am dropping off the car a few blocks away and don’t want to have to wait for me to get back to port to go through security and check-in. Possibly get a better boarding number too. Your experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  8. In addition, consider carrying a roll of $1 bills and frequenting specific bartenders. My drinks were plenty strong, long pours, and he kept switching my tequila up without being asked. I had a unique drink I favored, and he made it when I approached the bar without even being asked. It was fun to be treated like that. Bar waiters made sure to come around often to those who were tipping a little extra too.

I agree, tip the first few times and they remember you....a smile and small talk about them can go a long way...

  9. I can't suggest about staying in NYC for the night, but I can tell you about taking Metro-North from CT to GCS(Grand Central Station). We have taken the train to NYC for our cruises($30 - RT each), we leave from Milford. I would suggest going to New Haven as they have overnight parking, the other stations are open parking and require a parking pass. Once arrived at GCS we go out the 42nd Street doors and go LEFT to the HYATT Hotel - we use their restrooms and ask the Bellman to call us a Taxi. This works out well as it is before the Taxi Stand on the corner. It is about a $20 ride to the cruise port. Good luck with your decision and enjoy your cruise!!!

  10. I would hit cardio first depending on what time you get down there since when I was done running, there seemed to be very little treadmills, if any, left. Although I don't use the bikes, I do use the rower and that is set up next to the bikes and there are only 4 bikes and they seemed to always have someone waiting for them when I was doing the rower (only one btw and it was an older one with a chain).

Thank you - I am more interested in the Weight machines instead of the cardio equipment. I can always walk outside on the track or do the stairs...

  11. I don't have photos but use the gym every day on vacations. I was using cardio, machines and weights in August on Breakaway. Is there a specific question. The machine/free weights area is small but at least it is there.

Trying to figure out a WOD routine, I guess I'll wait to get there. Thanks!!!

  12. My family and I will be cruising on the Norwegian Breakaway to Bahamas in October-November 2017 and we have some questions that I can't seem to find definitive answers on. Hopefully some posters can help out.

1.) We want to book a small cabana on Great Stirrup Cay. Do they charge your card right at booking? Other cruises I have been on "excursions" are not charged until the day of the excursion in case the trip is cancelled (I guess to avoid hassles of refunds). The cabana's are pricey, but it's going to be our only "excursion" of the trip (if it doesn't get cancelled like I heard GSC often does).

Yes, they charge you right away. Book as soon as you can, I watched daily until they became available to make sure I was able to get one. I love the cabanas!!! Enjoy your cruise!
