  1. ....Question - where exactly is he planning to play it? Hopefully NOT on your balcony. When I'm sitting on mine listening to the ocean, that's about the last thing I want to hear.

I hate it when someone is playing thier boom box.

Even easy listening music would drown out why I love being on a balcony.

    .

  2. I certainly do not hate smokers, just want people to follow the rules so I get what I pay for (my balcony).

I just do not want my ship to catch fire, that is why they ban smoking on the balconies.

    See my other post below:

...2. The reason for the no smoking on the balcony, is not for the guest who it does bother,

But because there have been issues ,when the smokers fling their cigarette butts overboard.

It has landed on other balconies, and started fires.

Look at the picture, I cannot believe the personal things lost to all that were affected.

  3. No, you are wrong. It is not the non smokers "flaming the fire".

    ......

You are right, I guess I should have said that everyone here is just supporting a person, who many think is just stirring the pot.

I am a non smoker, smoke does not bother me. I feel sorry for those who it does bother.

I am just surprised that everyone is complaining about the balconies.

When I go within 1000 ( a Thousand ) feet of the casino, even on the 5th floor above it, that is all I smell.

Not one complaint. Why because it is legal.

Also people who it bothers probably do not go on the promenade deck, or casino.

My main thing is, why do we have so many posts about smoking on the balcony?

Is it because the search feature is hidden..... Oh no I forget, it is not.

By the way 18 pages of posts when you search for " Smoking "

Even though it is on different ships, I bet they are all almost the same:

    Post 1. Smoking is bad

    Post 2. Smoking is good

    Post 3. Smoking is bad

    Post 4. Smoking is good.

OK rant over, let me go get my popcorn for round 5.

    ;)

  4. .... If you order the dip from Room Service, it comes with Tortilla Chips. We always order extra chips because they don't send enough with the standard order. .....

    I love the Spinach/Artichoke Dip.

Did not think about ordering extra chips.

You are right about not enough, and some are so small it is hard to " Dip " them.

Thanks Griffy, I will order extra in a few months. :D

  5. Two things:

    1. If smoke bothers you, try to get a cabin closer in front of the ship.

There will be less chance of people smoking up wind.

    2. The reason for the no smoking on the balcony, is not for the guest who it does bother,

But because there have been issues ,when the smokers fling their cigarette butts overboard.

It has landed on other balconies, and started fires.

  6. We always bring portable grab bars with us.

My Mom needs them also getting up from " sitting " in the bathroom.

Just remember to bring them home with you. ( we left them one time )

I wonder if they have them on the ship, like the shower chairs that go into the bathtub.

Our cabin steward recommended we get one for her to take a shower.

But thanks for the heads up, this is her first cruise not in a suite.

So I will make sure we pack them.

    Again Thanks for the information.

  7. Wow, I thought I spent too much time on CC, but to search a poster's history looking for fault? Wow, only to be worse by being wrong.

What history, she had 7 posts at the time. So yes I was curious as to what else she had posted.

It takes 5 seconds to click on the name and then to see all posted by that person.

Then when I saw she was on another ship's Roll call, and never said Hi to the Oasis roll call, something was a miss.

Did you even noticed that when she was called out, she quit posting.

Or did you not read everything posted, after me calling her out?

Past postings give us a sense of whether to believe a poster. In your case, I'd guess something isn't quite right. As late as October 1 you posted about being on Westerdam, next post was a complaint about Oasis. You say it's your first cruise. Lots of money lost if you cancelled one and booked another while in full penalty time. That's 100% loss on one, and full payment at booking on Oasis. To me, it's hard to believe what you write.;)

I know, and all these Non-Smokers ( which I am one ), are just flaming the fire.

I do not know about others, but if smoking is so important, enough to waste a thousand or so dollars cancelling a cruise.

Then doing research on which cruise line does not allow smoking, you would research BEFORE you paid the thousand or so for the first one.

Like I said above, when called out on her past posts, she left and has not been back.

She could have just said " Yes, it is good to be the Queen, with so much money, it means nothing to me. "

    :D

  8. I cancelled my holiday on the Westerdam due to their smoking policy and booked the Oasis, thus I was on Oasis' Oct 31 sailing. This was my first and only cruise.

You cancelled your cruise, with less than 30 days.

All that money going to waste, must be nice.

Let me guess, you got a Dr.'s note saying you cannot cruise on a ship that allows smoking.

    :D

  9. Good analysis and insightful; as to whether the victim was inebriated, wouldn't RCI at least have the SeaPass records and know what was charged, how often, etc.?

There was a case here in town. A woman who was very drunk ( breathalyzer test showed that ).

Hit a car and killed a woman and her kids. The husband tried to sue the driver, but she did not have insurance.

So he went after the bar that served the drinks.

The bar video showed she bought two drinks that night, but her friends bought her a lot more.

So to say that RCL or anyone knows how many drinks a person had, must have been watching that one person all night.

  10. You have to work.

    And

You are not allowed to leave the group and go off on your own to explore.

    Not for us.

I know, I wonder how many people will actually pay that price.

Have to work, No excursions, just to give Carnival a good name.

Past cruise we met some from Sweden, they just went to Cuba, and loved the beaches.

So apparently U.S. cruises have to work to visit, if you can call it that.

    .

  11. We stayed in one, and our friends where next door in another.

Ours was port side, and our friends was starboard.

Kind of neat when you saw the port, while docked.

Also the ships passing in the night.

I did not care if it was on a strange wall, with a chair in front.

It was better than nothing but a wall.

Yes it glowed at night, but not as much as a night light,

or leaving the bathroom light on to see, when you get up 2P.

  12. We'd like to see it, but in the same price range as any other Caribbean cruise. I wouldn't pay more to go there than I would pay to go to any of the other islands we haven't visited.

ETA: I didn't vote, because none of the choices really fit our opinion.

So you would go, if it cost less. That is option #2.

  13. Out of Galveston, Royal only does the Jamaica / Grand Cayman / Cozumel or,

Rotan / Belize /Cozumel Routes. Getting Tiered of this.

Carnival did the Key west / Nassau / Freeport Route. But it is not Royal.

So I wish that Royal would either do the Eastern Caribbean, or add other ports options.

Yes they have added every now and then a stop at Puerto Costa Maya.

I just wish they could maybe do a Panama Cruise as well, we are closer than Florida.

So a few stops in Cuba would be a breath of fresh air,

although I know there is a law that we have to stop at Cozumel :D

    .

  14. I just got an E-mail, leaving Miami to 3 ports in Cuba.

It is a little expensive, starting at $1,800 Per Person.

I think it is just that it's new.

BUT it is Carnival, NOT Royal.

Do you think that Royal will start going there too?

I know that 2016, and 2017 schedules are out, but they can always change.

So would you go? and at those prices?
