  1. We have had a beach cabana on Nellies beach several times. There is a low yellow wall that separates your area from the rest of the beach. It was just a short way to the water. Adrenaline Beach is rocky and not really good for swimming especially with children.

    Thank You!!

Did you prefer a cabana on Nellie's beach as suppose to on Columbus beach? Did you feel it was worth it? Did Nellies beach get really crowded. How were you assigned your cabana? Were you able to choose before you arrived at Labadee?

  2. I reserved my first cabana and I thought it was a over the water cabana on Nellies beach. I am sailing on the Harmony in December.

I re looked at my reservation and it is a beach cabana. It would be $170 more for a over the water cabana. I was hoping for cabana #4 so the kids could dive into the water.

I originally wanted a cabana on Columbus Cove but they are sold out for $260. There is 6 of us. (4 adults and 8 year old twins) The kids would like to play in the water park too, which is near Nellies beach- so it all worked out. -- Well except for the diving part:o

I am worried that the beach cabanas would be crowded out with beach chairs totally negating that privacy feel .

What are your thoughts on the beach cabanas on Nellie beach. The price on sale was $355. Not sure if I want to pay more. I also read on CC that the cabana attendant gives you more than 2 floats if you need it. And I also read that they escort you to the buffet. Not sure if that is old information though.

Can someone please give me the skinny? Why would the cabanas on Nellie beach cost more than on Columbus cove? Especially since they are both ' on the beach'? I wonder if I should save money, cancel the cabana just find a chair somewhere in the shade. Is there anywhere else the kids can jump into the water safely? Should I consider booking a beach bed instead on adrenaline beach? That beach has more waves per CC and maybe that will interest the kids as well.

This is what I thought I was booking:halo:

Is this what a beach cabana looks like?

  3. The bugalows are sold out in Columbus Cove for my trip. I am smiling on the Harmony. I was worried if I did not rent a bed, bugalow, or claim shell..that I would be outbid luck for sitting options. We want to be near Columbus because it is close to the slide and water park. How early do you have to get off the ship to secure enough chairs for 6 people?

  4. I am sailing on the Harmony in December. We will be in PR 7am to 2pm. I have 8 year old twins. This is our first visit to PR. I read on CC that San Juan is walkable, but I am concerned it may not be entertaining for young kids. I was thinking about booking a excursion through the ship. First one is a scavenger hunt on the fort with a pirate. 3 hour walking tour. They fly kites on the fort too . The second is twice the price and is a beach day at VIVO beach club.

I am having a hard time finding reviews on the pirates scavenger hunt. Anyone partake in these excursions or have advice on a kid friendly outing on PR?

    Thank you

  5. So the speciality team sold in the little boxes in the case at the international cafe are unlimited with the coffee card?

I am not a coffee drinker but I love specialty teas !!!

Lipton vs Teavana is a similar comparison to buffet coffee and a fresh brewed espresso...IMHO;p

    Any other tea snobs agree?:D

  6. I booked my cruise on the Royal 1 year ago. Before then I had only sailed on Princess older ships (Grand, Emerald, Coral, Ruby)

After reading a few CC threads I found that there are quite a few cabin gems that I missed. I also found that the size of the cabin on Princess website is not always accurate.

I have also read complaints about a mid ship elevator that does go to certain floors.

    ( maybe I'm wrong)

Anywho ... What is your favorite cabin and location on the Royal/Regal? And why?

  7. Just off the Regal, we paid 159 USD per person for 11 days , no further discount for the second person for couples and yes, you had to purchase this as a package for the whole cruise

I can't find it on my cruise planner. I sail the Royal in May 2019. Do you have to wait and purchase it on the cruise? How did you like the Enclave? When were your least busiest times? Did you feel it was worth it?

  8. Yes, as others have already said shorter cruises still get upsells. We got the email yesterday and the call back today for our 3 day cruise Sept 8th. This is the 2nd time we have been offered an upsell, we've had 2 upgrades in the past on 3 days or longer. Our 1 day cruises haven't seen an upsell or upgrade yet. But maybe they just didn't pick our number in the system when they send them out.

Our 1 day cruise have received upgrades and we were offered upsells on our short 3/4 day cruises.

  9. I have been watching the prices of my cruise and they have been going up up up. From $622, a couple of days ago $830 ... and NOW $1,049 for the balcony!

I am glad I purchased when I did. I am sailing solo in a balcony. I caught the price when it was $599/pp.

  10. I don't like NCL and I especially don't like the gigantic mega ships!

I am not happy that Carnival is bringing its own mega ship to California.

We may have to switch our yearly Mexico cruise to Princess or just stop going at all.

I live on the west coast and have has of yet to sail the Mexican Riviera. Is it pretty safe? What one reads in the news may not be reality for cruisers.

  11. Do the math. For a 7-day it wouldn’t be worth it to me but for a longer cruise it is. Is that $500 per person or for both of you? You really don’t spend that much time in the cabin.

    $500 total

  12. I am currently booked in DB R234 for a 7 day Pacific Coastal on the Royal (LAX to Vancouver). I have a opportunity to move to M106 for $542 dollars more for refundable or $360 for non refundable deposit. The deposit is $275. On my currentl booking, I have a $60 OBC and my deposit is refundable.

I would lose the OBC if I switch to a minisuite.

I really would like to experience M107/108 but they are booked and I heard that those rooms are now club class. Club class is almost as much as the suite class on my sailing.

I have done TONS of research and I am ok with the location etc. I just wonder if its worth $500 more. I like the layout of this mini and I love the big balcony. I really enjoy tubs as well. We have sailed in mini suite before. I am wondering if I should book this room because they are rare or wait for a upsell that may or may not happen. How rare? popular are the forward facing mini suites? Are these mini suites considered Premium mini suites?

I read there is some 3 for 3 sale that comes in September. What exactly is that??? I would wait until then to upgrade but I am concerned the room will be gone if it is sooo popular. I could always spend the extra money on the thermal suite. :)

Are there any other cabins that would be a better choice?

  13. We did the 5 night package on Harmony and thoroughly enjoyed it. We usually do at least the 4 night package on Oasis class ships. We tend to eat at the specialty restaurants on sea days or days when we depart from port early. On port days we tend to dine in the WJ.

How is the WJ for dinner? Does the selections change every night?

  14. It includes all restaurants except Chef's Table or any meal with a wine pairing. We used our last 3-night package for Wonderland, Chops, and Jaime's ... it was quite a savings though I made sure to get my reservations set upon boarding for desirable times.[/quot

Did you buy the package pre cruise? Which resturant were you assigned the first night?
