  1. If you buy it on day 2 you only pay for 6 days, day 1 is not factored in. I think I paid about $293 when I bought it on day 2

Then whatever drinks you bought on day 1, you just were charged for and was not included in the program?

It's funny because their terms say "must buy for the entire cruise - this offer is not offered on a per day basis."

  2. I need some clarity for those that have already tried the Cheers Program....

Some said that they were charged tax if they bought it on the 1st day, some said that they waited until the 2nd day....my questions are :

    1) Is the tax thing depending on what state the ship is departing from that they have to enforce the state sales tax if the ship is still in port?

    2) If you buy it on the 2nd day, do they charge you for 6 days if it is a 7 day cruise and what happens to all the drinks you bought on the 1st day? Do you get charged for those or do they credit it back when you purchase the program.

Another $7 per day is making me rethink it.

  3. I booked a 'sale of the year' rate.

It was below the easy saver, do you know about that pricing?

No that was probably a one time promotional sale. They have all kinds of crazy fares like Better Homes & Gardens, Ebony Magazine, promotions for certain businesses, etc. They come and go. The ones I listed are their structured fares that they will use consistently until further notice. Every several years they will recategorize their fare structures.

  4. I see a lot of questions about Early Saver fares here on the forum and I think sometimes people may be confusing Early Saver with Easy Saver. They are different. Plus this also explains the other Super Saver, Instant Saver, Fun Select and Fun Select Plus. You consider the pros & cons before you book. The only fare that offers price protection is the Early Saver.

    Early Saver -

Available up to 3 months on short cruises, 5 months on long cruises

Price Protection up to 2 business days prior to departure

Lowest price option with cabin assignment

Cancel before final? Deposit will be given in a FCC plus a $50pp service fee. To use the FCC, you must sail within 24 months from the cancellation date.

Cancel after final? Same terms as the standard cancellation policies.

Change ship or sail date before final? $50pp service fee/per change.

Change ship or sail date after final? Same terms as the standard cancellation policies.

Early Saver is not eligible for any Super Saver or Instant Saver or any other fares that does not allow cabin selection at the time of booking.

    Super Saver -

    No price protection.

Select your category, CCL selects your cabin.

    Non-refundable deposit

Change ship or sail date before final? Penalty is at least the deposit amount per person.

Change ship or sail date after final? Same terms as the standard cancellation policies.

Change names before final? Treated as a cancellation. CCL will assess the per person deposit as the penalty fee.

    Instant Saver -

    Available closer to sailing.

    No price protection.

Select your category, CCL selects your cabin. You will receive your cabin assignment when you check-in.

Full payment required at the time of booking.

Any changes to ship or sail date are subject to at least the the full per person fare cancellation penalty fee.

Change names? Treated as a cancellation. CCL will assess the full fare per person as the penalty fee.

    Easy Saver -

    Available after Early Saver closes.

    No price protection.

Same deposit and payment terms as Early Saver.

All other changes, cancellations are the same as Early Saver

There is also Fun Select and Fun Select Plus Fares which are usually higher, but give more flexibility, free upgrades and no restrictions on changes before final payment. Can cancel without penalty before final payment. Fun Select – 2 cat upgrade, Fun Select Plus – free best available upgrade. Upgrades are within the same class (inside to inside, oceanview to oceanview, balcony to balcony, etc.)

  6. I don't recall a bus @ HMC but it's been a few years since I was there. It is a long strectch of beach so I guess you could walk further down but then the food/drinks are far away. They do have a/c beachfront cabanas you can rent for the day. They do have parasailing.

GT - there is a nice beach there with lounge chairs + Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville with a HUGE freeform pool and a swim-up pool bar. They have those flowrider surf thingy's for the brave souls. Plus there are some shops right there too. I am perfectly happy hanging out here all day. Too bad our time there will only be from 7am-2pm :(

Here is the GTCC website : http://www.visittci.com/grand-turk-cruise-center

  7. I used the Park N Fly last October. It was a less expensive way to park @ $7/day. They do shuttle you to & from the parking lot in their mini-buses. Post cruise we did have to wait for the 3rd go around because I think they had only 1 shuttle running and it filled up quickly so plan to pack your patience. Confirm your rates and return times. We came back 1/2 hour later than I had put on my registration and they were going to charge me accordingly until I argued that if they had picked me up sooner, I would have made that time. They took off the extra charge.

The parking garages @ Port E are close to the pier/check-in area @ $12/day. Believe me Port E is MUCH better than Miami! Do unload pass & baggage @ curb and then park.

It's true the FLL airport is VERY close to Port Everglades for those that are flying in. It's a 10 min ride depending on traffic @ security checkpoint into the port area. Taxi easier than shuttle transfer service offered by cruise lines. When using the buses, remember to pack your patience. They don't leave until they are filled and baggage is on.
