  1. I just finished making our reservations for Select Dining for our April cruise by going on the X website. After you sign in, just go to "Manage Reservation," and scroll down under "My Cruise Summary," and you will find "Dining Preferences," where you can make all of your dining reservations. 🍽

  2. Thanks to OP for starting this thread as I've been happily taking advantage of other discounts offered but after 2 months of checking both Amex cards, I've still NOT been offered the Celebrity benefit. :(

Wondering if it was only offered for a short time and if I missed it. Will continue checking though....anyone here have it pop up lately?

The Amex Celebrity offer expired 11/5. 😟

  3. Having sailed in Aqua once, about the only perk that we would miss by sailing in a regular veranda cabin would be eating in Blu. The food was excellent. That being said, the price for a veranda cabin for a cruise we are looking at on the Equinox is listed as starting at $1,749. The price listed for Aqua starts at $4,399. Both prices are pp. IMO we could eat in specialty restaurants every night!

  4. My goodness, I really can't understand what the big fuss is about. When you go to upscale restaurants around town, do you analyze what other patrons are wearing? Does what they wear impact the enjoyment of your dinner and whatever occasion you may be celebrating? Are you so distracted from interacting with your dining partner(s) because of what you may deem as not up to your standards of dress by others?

Are the folks who are in suites and aqua class on board to be trusted more to wear the appropriate dress because they spend more for their accommodations? Therefore the dress code for them in those venues is not "formal" and there appears to have been no controversy or concern for them to adhere to the standards.

But, for the "regular folk" that are not booked in the higher categories of staterooms, there is this great concern that the relaxed dress code for the MDR will harm the sensibilities of those that would cling to the tradition of tux/suit/formal dress? Are your fellow MDR patrons not to be trusted to know what is appropriate? This appears to be class discrimination among that particular group.

I believe that there will always be people whose choices in clothing will not suit the standards of others. Who is to determine what those standards are? I find all this hand wringing over who is wearing what to be so inconsequential in light of so many things going on in our lives and the world.

There is no ban on wearing formal wear, there are just more choices being offered. Everyone should just concentrate on enjoying their vacation and stop being the fashion police.

Couldn't have said it better! 👍

  5. Wouldn't even think of cutting it this close. When we flew into Vancouver, the customs lines were extremely long. We took the train, and while probably faster than a taxi, we still had somewhat of a long walk to Canada Place. Like others have said, flying in the day before would be the ideal solution if feasible for you. Vancouver is beautiful!

  6. Highly recommend this tour. We did it last year thru RC, but I don't know what was different from a tour you would purchase on your own. In regards to getting to the airport on time, RC won't even let you book this tour unless you have a late afternoon flight (sometime like 4:00 or 4:30). They make sure they get you to the airport on time, and the tour guide asks everyone about their flight times just to be sure everyone does have a late flight.

  7. We always book our own air, and our flights are often changed by the carrier. Last year, Delta changed our flight from LAX to the east coast to a totally different plane and time and had us flying in to another airport to make a connection with a flight that would already be long gone after we landed! This I discovered when I just happened to go online and check the status of our flights. I made a quick phone call to Delta, and they acknowledged that this "probably wouldn't work," apologized, and re-booked us. My point, as others have stated, is this can happen no matter who arranges your flights.

  8. My husband and I are staying at the Country Inn in Cape Canaveral before a cruise in September. We would like to go down to the pier in Cocoa Beach and notice that the Route#9 trolley goes right past our hotel to the pier. According to the schedule I pulled up, the closest place for us to catch it is Astronaut Blvd. and Central Blvd., which is only .3 of a mile from our hotel. My question is, is it safe traffic wise to walk there to catch the trolley? Any sidewalks? We are used to walking long distances, and this would be very easy for us to do, but we want to be safe. Thank you for your input. This board has been so helpful in planning our trip. I would be lost without it.
