  1. Ever since they changed the candies some years back (they use to have that choc/mint taste) we don't miss them. I just always saved them thru the week and brought them home for the grandkids because they liked them. I remember one trip asking our steward for a few extra to take home and he gave us and ENTIRE BAG!!!

See, that's why Carnival cut back on the chocolates! Over generous room stewards! Ours did the same thing. LOL! When I told the kids that we booked a cruise, the first thing they said was, "Yummy, the nighttime chocolates"! Let me break the news to them!

  2. Am I completely missing something... how can 4 people take a shower at the same time with two cabins?

We're booked in a deluxe ocean view on the Breeze. These cabins have 1.5 bathrooms. Between the two cabins, there will be 2 showers and 2 separate tubs. With that combination, we will be able to breeze (pun intended) through bath time instead of everyone waiting to use the one shower in the cabin.

  3. The 2 connecting cabins are a better set up anyway....keep the kids and their messes in their OWN cabin...and having 2 baths is a huge plus!

That's what I was thinking as well. Having the ability for 4 people to take a bath/shower at the same time will be a huge time saver.

  4. Thanks for the responses. I'm booked in two connected rooms that will work just fine. I just wanted to double check to make sure there wasn't a family suite or something available. Thanks so much.

  5. Actually Galveston was the pilot program. since then It started in New Orleans and it's now starting in Miami.

I'm guessing it will be at all ports shortly

It's my understanding they have been enforcing the rules.

What i have read many people say it works well

I'm excited to try it out. The last time I cruised out of Galveston (in 2006 I believe), it was a nightmare. Must have waited in line for well over 3 hours.

  6. Oh my goodness- isn't there already enough "no charge" food to go around a thousand times over? AAah Carnival is charging $5 for chicken wings delivered to my state room! I will surely starve!!!!!

I think folks aren't looking at the big picture. An order of wings from a wing restaurant is far more expensive than $5! I don't see why folks are up in arms.

  7. The last time I cruised Carnival was many moons ago, so I see a lot has changed. I'm just reading about the FTTF option Carnival has now. Is this something that many of you actively try and get? Is it worth it? I've sat around and waited to board the ship, and it really wasn't that long of a wait. Are waits that much longer now? I have so much to relearn about Carnival. Should be a fun 510 days!!!

  8. Port of Miami - effective a couple weeks ago, Carnival implemented an assigned time embarkation. You need to go to the on-line check in page and select a time. If you arrive at port prior to your time, you will not be permitted to enter the terminal. Even if you have FTTF or are Platinum+, you still select a check in time.

I am cruising March 5 on the Glory and received an email from, Carnival announcing this change and instructions to select a time. This change is for ALL Carnival sailings from POM.

Apparently, Galveston has followed suit. Just booked a 2017 cruise and I had to choose a check-in time. I chose the earliest time possible. Interesting concept. Wonder if it will help get people through the lines quicker???

  9. I would like to hear about your experience of staying in a cabin on deck one or doing a guarantee cabin.

Do you hear the motors or is it really rocky on deck one?

If you get a guarantee cabin will you be stuck under the theater or some noisy venue?

I did a guarantee cabin once (Conquest), and it was the worst location. I was right under the galley and about every hour or so, we would hear a loud metal grinding sound. We joked and said Carnival must use their garbage disposals to get rid of any silverware they no longer need.

Every since, we've always stayed on the lowest decks for two reasons, cost (we are a family of 6) and typically, there should be another cabin above you and not some loud venue. I really enjoy staying low. Also, I think you feel way less movement the lower (and more centered) you are. Just my opinion!

    Happy cruising!!!

  10. LOL, If you haven't heard back from anyone about using their logos, I think they are probably ignoring you. :D Too bad because you have really good computer skills!!!

Great job, Aldewitt! Choices are always nice! :)

I am bumping this one up for the folk who don't have Word. It is a pdf (Adobe) file that I changed to be easily edited. The other links have gotten buried down there a ways.

I am still trying to get permission to use the logos and stuff and do some others for X and some other lines.:(
