HI! Just wondering what people think of either
Carnival Vista southern: out of Miami
visits St. Kitts, Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Maarten
Adventure of the Seas: out of San Juan
visits St. Maarten, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts
We have been on Freedom of the Seas on an Eastern and on a Disney Magic Western but never on Carnival.
The girls will be 14 and 17 so probably not in the same teen clubs, but they have never really done the clubs on cruises. Roughly the same price, but it may cost more to fly out of San Juan. Any advise would be great. Thanks!

Leaving this weekend for a cruise on the freedom. I have a couple last minute questions…
1. Do we need lanyards for the keys?
2. Should we use a shoe organizer for the bathroom?
3. How early can we get on the ship?
4. Anything we should bring--tips on things people forget?
5. Any other last minute advice?
Thanks so much!!

No you shouldn't have to pay for moving people around between two cabins. However, this is Royal Caribbean and simple logic has no place in Royal Caribbean's scheme of things.
Buy your wife can still go into the lounge. She can go in with you.
Thanks,so we both don't have to use our cards to get in?

Ok, so I have already paid in full with 1 dd and me in the sweet and dh and other dd in the connecting room. I called today and they are saying it will cost me $250 to move dh into room 6305 with me because I have already passed the paid in full date. He made the comment that we could do whatever we wanted once we got there. However, then dh wouldn't get the concierge lounge right? I think I will try calling again tomorrow. I don't think I should have to pay for changing people in rooms should I?
-
THanks so much! I will definitely change it so dh and I can receive the Lounge perks!

We, the parents, will probably let the kids enjoy the room with the sweet view and ice cream coupons while we take the CL access! Seems fair enough!
So can you have reservations for the parents in the sweet and the kids in the adjoining room? I thought you had to have a kid in each room with an adult. Thanks!

AFter you pay your final payment, can you get a new room that is an upgrade?

Going on a cruise this spring and was looking into the Olympus tg3 to bring with us. Then I looked on ebay and realized I could get a used sony rx100 (first generation) for a similar price. I have looked at this camera in the past because it seems to be a good one. Wondering if I should get that instead. We have a dslr, but sometimes it seems too big to cart around. Currently I just use my phone to take pictures. The original purpose was to take it on excursions. We are also going to Wisconsin Dells and I would take dance pictures from competitions and casual ones. So should I:
1. get the olympus tg-3
2. get the sony rx100
3. get a underwater case for iphone
4. other suggestion?
Thanks!

Hi! Trying to find a cruise for my in-laws for next fall 2015. They have cruised over 10 times on carnival, but I see they don't go there. They are fine with a inside cabin and we would be paying up to $2000 a person. They want to do both Australia and New Zealand. What cruise line or cruise would you recommend? Thanks!

Hi! Looking for a cruise for my in-laws for fall 2015 Australia/New Zealand. Somewhere around 14 days. We would be paying for this. They are fine with an inside room. We are looking to pay $2000 or less per person. Any good itineraries? They are used to Carnival cruises. Thanks!

I just called and the agent said that it was not worth the price increase to get the OBC. I had booked this when the BOGOHO first came out--2 inside rooms. Now the price on those rooms has gone up about $80 a room since then. So no OBC for me I guess:(
-
Just wondering. There are connecting promenade rooms or not connecting but close by inside rooms. The promenade rooms are $500 more. Is that worth it?
-
Do you still get concierge benefits if you have 1 A 1C staying in the room? We will get another inside room for 1 A 1 C. Wondering if dh and I can get the concierge drinks if he is in another room?

just checking to see if there will be a shortage of kids on the allure or 8 day Indy in jan (Martin Luther king jr week). My kids only have a three day week so we are considering it but don't want them to be the only ones aboard. Thanks
-
Is this the same for the oasis class?
-
I thought I was all set on going on Freedom in March 2015, but I just looked at Allure in Jan and it was the same price as the Freedom! We are 2 adults, 2 dds (11, 14). We have been on one cruise on Disney Magic (Western) and we will probably not do another cruise for a few years after this. We would probably not do another Eastern either. So both doing Eastern itinerary:
Allure-Jan
St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Nassau
2 inside rooms
Girls miss 3 days of school and sports, I miss 3 days of work, Dh misses 5 days
Weather cooler?
Freedom--March
St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Coco Cay
2 inside rooms
Girls have spring break, I miss 5 days of work, Dh misses 5 days of work.
What would you do?
-
Finally settled on freedom for next year. We are getting two inside rooms. Should we go for deck 2 aft (close to mid ship) or deck 6 very forward? Thanks!
-
Looking at oasis or allure for thanksgiving week but it looks sold out? There are no fares for $0 for the third and fourth-- true? Is it sold out then?
-
Hi! We are 2 adults 2 dds (14 and 11) looking for a spring break trip for 2015. We have only been on a disney western cruise so we want to go on an Eastern. Would you go on the:
Freedom--8 days
Grand Turk
Dominican Republic
Arbua
Curacao
3 sea days
Glory--7 days
Half moon cay
St. Thomas
San Juan
Grand Turk
2 sea days
It is $800 more for the Freedom. Thanks for any advice.
-
OP here! Now my younger dd has said she does not want to miss dance (they are in competition dance)--not school mind you, dance. So we would have to go in March.
So now the options are:
Adventure--southern B (San Juan, Barbados, Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Croix)
2 inside rooms $3400
Freedom--Eastern (St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Coco Cay)
2 inside rooms $3400
Oasis--Eastern (St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Naasau)
1 inside room $4200
I think I would rather be gone in January, but she starts middle school next year and it is harder to make up the work. My oldest is not concerned about making up the work!
-
ANyone else with preteens/younger teens? They are not the real adventurous types so probably won't be doing the zip line. I think they would enjoy any entertainment. Have to see if they would be ok to be out of school for 3 days too.
-
Added allure into the mix too!

Hi. Two adults 2dds (11,14). Only been on a Disney western 3 years ago. Should we go in 2015:
Indy eastern 8 day january
Allure eastern 7 day January
Freedom eastern 7 day march
Adventure southern 7 day march
All cost about the same for 2 inside rooms Freedom maybe a couple hundred more. Allure is the most for one room but only 300 more than indy or adventure. We live in mn so flights and weather are tricky sometimes. January would mean missing school and work. March is just missing work.
Thanks for any advice!
Adventure of the Seas or Carnival Vista for a southern?
in Ask a Cruise Question
Posted
With 2 teenage girls who probably won't spend a ton of time in the teen clubs (14 and 17 so won't be in the same club).
Vista is 8 day with St. Maarten, San Juan, Grand Turk, and St. Kitts. Departs from Miami.
Adventure is 7 day with St. Maarten, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua. Departs out of San Juan.
Thoughts? Thanks!
