  1. Can I pick brains please ?

Just booked a cruise that includes 3 nights in Shanghai and then on to non-Chinese ports.

Will we need a visa ? We're British.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. It is best to buy your ticket 30 days in advance to go up the tower.

Just go to their web site.

I know that's best but is it compulsory ?

The OH isn't convinced and is a bit worried about advance booking as we're not not 100% sure how we will be feeling re jet lag.

    Thanks

  3. Thanks for the tips. We do have a ho-ho bus included in our 3 night stay at The Palm so maybe we will have time to do the Burj before the cruise instead.

Would you recommend the day or the night to visit ?

  4. We have a day in Dubai after our cruise in January.

We would like to go up the Burj Khalifa at least.

Can anyone recommend a guide or the best way to do this from the cruise terminal ?

    Thanks

  5. No we didn't go inside anything in Florence last time.

That's why we really want to this time, especially after reading the latest Dan Brown.

Mind you it also makes me want to go to Venice again and see that properly.

I know that not all of Florence's beauties are open to the general public and some that are take many hours to see properly, both the art galleries for example.

I will follow your advice and ask about a tour and see what ensues

  6. We're cruising into Livorno next summer and would love to see more of Florence,we've done a walking tour from a ship already.

Can any one suggest a tour company that would help us see even more of this wonderful city including a transfer from Livorno ?

    Fingers crossed.

  7. Visiting Korcula in September and looking for advice on what there maybe to do other than a walking tour of the town and if that's all there is should we book in advance or are there guides to be had on the quayside ?

    Many thanks.

  8. My five for what they're worth

    1. Don't spend money on a cabin, when you can spend it on yourself

    2. If in doubt, ask. Staff and other cruisers will more than happily steer you right or offer advice.

    3. It's not always possible to do everything on board that you want to do.

    4. Take a change of clothes in your hand luggage, especially when your Caribbean bound. You won't want to walking the decks in a pairs of jeans and the reverse applies on returning home. Particularly if it's an Xmas cruise.

    5. Ship trips are expensive, check out CC about 6/7 months prior to sailing to see if anyone is doing something you'd like to be part of.
