  1. I am going on my first Royal cruise in Sept, but have cruised 10x on Carnival so not new to cruising or Casinos :). Just curious, how do points accumulate on Royal, such as at Slots which tend to be what I do the most when cruising??

Anything I need to know to make my experience the best it can be in a Royal Casino. Any info appreciated!

    Thanks!

RCCL $5 per 1 point on regular slots vs carnival $3 per point .... after earn 2,5K free drinks (but it valid for whole year and it accumulative)...Carnival 1,5K and valid just for next cruise ...Also by playing with RCCL you know exactly what you get for particular amount of points ...with Carnival -no idea... RCCL have "moneyback" known as free play but need to use on this particular cruise

Some perks same like COMP dinner/spa/strawberries/champane are same on both

after you reach 10K in current sailing (up to then host) they can take off money from you bill from particular categories like spa/shopping/dinner... and after 25K next step :)

Sometimes I am getting like 2 wine and 2 champane that I dont need it (have free drinks already :) )and giving back to my fav dealers/ host / manager

  2. Would you like to hear GREAT story???

    Here is goes...

I called CR Satuday and want to book cruise on Spectrum of the seas new ship that going out April 2019 for my friends. CR representative said that he cannot book this cruise bec there is no such ship with RCCL and this ship belong to Celebrity. I tell him that why ship the "... of the Seas"? and pls go to RCCL website and look up ....also I gave him my reservation number (I did it with Tyler URComp) ....basically our conversation ended bec he couldn't help me at all... was so mad and contacted URComped --- cruise was booked with 10 mins ---even my friends not gamble too much just couple hundred druring cruise. URComp been willing to help to book my friends cabin.

CR ---- pls do some training for your staff!!!

  3. My husband and I haven't been sailing Royal lately, mostly because of the casino changes. We found out that I am Signature level and he is Masters level. We get many email and postcard offers for free cruises from them, including junior suites etc, besides the once per year free balcony I get for signature and the once per year grand suite he gets for masters. We called and as members of the same household, they will not let us book 2 rooms on the same cruise. Also if we want to combine offers, they can't give us higher than a junior suite, even though we both have junior suite offers already. They said they started that policy about a year ago. I told them they are just hurting themselves. Our casino money works very well on Carnival and at our land based casino. We might take some of the cruises later this year, but because of their new rules, we won't gamble. It doesn't matter if we don't get future offers from them. We would rather play where we get treated better, not penalized for being a married couple.

Yep, thats excatly same answer that I got .... :(

  5. Anyone here that is D+, try to use their 2 free days of Internet, then the 30% off the internet through the casino for the remaining days?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

    what we did :

I have fully comp internet from Casino and we applied mine 2 days as D+ and my hubby D+ 2 days on his phone (4 days :) he using D+ perk)

  6. Very upset with my call today to CR :( As I mention above I been on Freedom B2B. 1st leg--- 27K points and 2nd leg 14K points. Called CR and ask to check for me sailing 7 days on Allure April 2019 based of my play. Answer: We ONLY can count on your last cruise play and give you balcony if you want JS then you need to pay $1,500 more. CR representative said that she cannot even see my 1st leg play points (don/t know if its true or not).

Also what I didnt like that she asked me several times to use my certificates --- but I completely booked for 2018.

  7. A little off subject... We have a group doing a slot pull on Adventure during our May 5 sailing. There are 66 of us at 25 pp. The person organizing this reached out to the asst. Casino host about a few small swag for the top three. The asst. Host wanted the group to pay 15% to the casino and move the time and day. Anyone ever had this happen to them?

Never happens ...I orginizing slot pull for every sailing where I am going .... next one April 14 sailing

  8. I called yesterday to ask for any news. I told the gentleman that I was booked on the April 8th sailing of the Freedom and I prebooked internet during one of the sales. I was not quite sure I was going to qualify for signature. He wouldn't tell me if he could or could not see my points, but he said I would be fine. He said to call back Monday or Tuesday to know for sure before I cancel the internet I booked in cruise planner. He said everything was going as planned for an April 1 rollout.

Have exactly same questions bec sailing on Freedom right after you Apr 14 and 22nd B2B .... Spoke with CR today morning : answer everything on time will get email March 31st and if any problem pls call 1st week of April

  10. Spoke at length to the host and pit bosses on Allure in November. Couple of factors why 3 card rakes in the points.

    • It has one of the highest house advantages in the casino
    • When you play late at night (I would close the casino most nights) It was mainly just me and the dealer meaning that more hands were played per hour. When I questioned how they are getting an accurate amount hands played they showed me the pin hole sized light on one of the bet circles that is a sensor. I was easily playing a hand or more in a minute.

Everyone I asked not only said that the bonus accumulates points but big points. I tested that theory on night by playing $10 instead of $5 on the sucker 6 card bet. In a three hour session (at most) I racked up over 1500 points by playing only that bet and the pair plus bet on two hands. Wasn't playing the ante for the majority of hands.I think that I am going to test the theory again on Harmony in April.

yes, this theory is right .... I played 3 card poker only bonus and 6 cards and Let it Ride combo 5 cards and 3 cards bonus (only one bet count toward points and 3 card bonus ...but they are counted separatly)

  11. Free play calculation: 1K points = $20

No, it will not reflect on any future cruises booking discount, comp staff thet host giving you on board or anything else if you will use this money to play on same cruise where you earned

I also asked what for exp signature level in low and high end (25K VS 90K for exp) between balcony comp and grand suite comp for master level -- CR said they will look case by case and talk with supervisor

Email will start going out from February with more datails and your level status CR cannot tell you anything now more then already known bec been advised so. we need to wait until March ;p

  12. Chatting with someone on another site, they were on the Independence two days ago and were able to transfer funds from their sea pass card to the slot machine while at the machine. They were given a code to do this. Anyone else heard of this?

yes, on Harmony November cruise. I got code from casino host and he said how much I have free play and explained how I can use it.

  13. My question was whether, during that 12 (or in the case of the first instance, 17 months) months "look back", the points are cumulative or averaged. I think you (Goofy) answered that they are cumulative. That is a GREAT thing. The more you cruise, the better off you are.

I'm skeptical about the whole "you will never drop back down to a lower tier level" part. My guess is there is some reboot period of time after which you would reset your status to some lower (or maybe, inactive) status. I hope I'm wrong, but I'll bet they won't just let you stay at a high level just b/c you reached it once. That's how Royal got into so much trouble with the whole C&A status thing.

At any rate, this is all good news so far. I HATE this whole "you're only as good as your last cruise" thing. I'll be glad when it goes away.

Iasked --- got answer ....every year you need to start over ...exactly same as land casinos

  14. Lets start it this way to make it simpler. You are a first time cruiser on RCI. You do a few cruises between 4/1/2018 and 3/31/2019. You rack up. 28,000 points in that time frame. You will be classified as signature. You will never drop below that even if between 4/1/2019 and 3/31/2020 you only go on one short cruise and amass 5,000 points. You will still be signature.

Each year the point reset. So lets say you do lots of cruising between 4/1/2021 and 3/31/2022. You amass over 100,000 points during that 12 month span. You will now be Masters and will never drop below that.

That being said this is so fluid that anything can change and I might have egg on my face!!! :o

I see this as good. Maybe the program still isn't great and we would love to have specialty restaurants and spa treatments comped but it is better then we have at the moment and maybe they will add some of that in.

I was messaging with a dealer that I became friendly with and they said its about time. They have been talking about something like this for the last couple of years.

I think they will still give us specialty restaurants/ spa treatments ....its not a big deal
