Entertainment, no matter what it was, was great. Comedy club, theater, piano bar, violinists, etc, all are excellent. They did not disappoint. Some people may have expected more and there may have been more in the past, but I have nothing to compare it to. The shows in the theater would be on par with anything say Disney puts on at their parks for shows.

Can you tell us what shows they had in the theater? Wonder if it will be the same as on the other ships.... Thank you

  3. Our plan is to order 2 bottles of liquor from fun shops. Order 5 wine package from the main restaurant to have at dinners and bring two bottles of wine or champagne plus some mixers on board. Coffee every morning in coffee shop ( buys 5 get one free ) order bottles of water for the room.

Total money spend approximately $400.00 for both of us much cheaper than cheers $800.00

plus we get free drinks at the casino and we buys some drinks at ports!

Yes, we didn't do alot of either, we just walked around, shopped and ate.  My DH did swim near the Lazy Lizard at the end of the island.  I imagine you can swim and snorkel all around the island, I'm not sure.  My biggest piece of advise is watch the water taxi schedule/time.  It's NOT ship time.  It is hands down the most beautiful place I've been in the sense of "island life."

Thank you, yes I am actually very nervous about getting stuck on that island and not making our boat lol. I see there are two different taxi companies? Which would you recommend? What if the taxi is full to get back on time?

I have been to Belize twice on cruises.  Both times, we took the San Pedro Water Taxi to Caye Caulker.   It is about a 45 minute ride to Caye Caulker.  This was done on our own with no guide.  It is THE most beautiful, tropical, post card picture place I've ever been to.  There is nothing franchised there, no paved streets, it is ALL island life.  The ticket counter is just to the left of the pier, through the gate, once you are tendered in.  There you will find lots of locals/peddlers but just keep walking and say no thank you and keep moving.  I've never felt threatened or afraid but to some it can be overwhelming.  I have two suggestions.  Pay very, very, very close attention to the time the taxi heads back to Belize City.  I believe, if I have this right, the schedule is on Belize time, not ship time????  If it hadn't have been for my husband paying attention we would have missed the last taxi back to Belize City and missed our ship!  Also, the taxi's do not have bathrooms!  Beware.  :classic_wacko:

When you get to the island Caye Caulker, is there a public beach that we can swims and snorkel from? Thank you

  6. Hello, It will be our 3rd time in Belize. We have done the ruins, zip lining and cave tubing before. It was all great!

This time looking for just easy relaxed day and go to Kukumba Beach in Old Belize.

Reviews for that one are not so great on the "reviews sites", but since we have two teens I bet they would like to enjoy the slide etc.

Questions is anybody experienced Kukumba Beach? Thoughts? How do we get there and the cost?

I am also open to suggestions to have a beach day elsewhere maybe snorkeling?

    Thank you

I'm not quite following what the problem is.

There have been many discussions about difficulties getting coverage for those who are not residents of the USA.

But you have found something that would cost you $90 pp, and that *would* work?

But you are still looking for something *else*??

Even if you could find something else, how much less could it be?

Are you able to get them coverage for $90 pp or not?

    GC

Well since my parent already have all the medical travel insurance that comes with their credit card I really don't want to pay $180.00 seems little too high for $1500.00 cruise. I am paying for me and my children $62.00  for all for $2300.00 cruise

Just think it's too expensive for them and looking for better options than through the cruise line ($180.00)

But I guess there will be no other option at this point. Thanks

  8. I searched ......only finding the insurance for US citizens. I know it's not per cabin, but it should be covering us if our travel companion is not able to make it and we have to cancel, that is why I was thinking if each of the covered persons is in each cabin and our travel companion/family can't make it it would cover us. Just trying to see if anybody had this experience.

  9. Hello,

I am taking my parents from Europe on a cruise. I usually purchase my insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical etc. It seems like I can't add them to that policy because they are not US citizens. They already have travel insurance that covers all medical + expenses, but not trip cancellation. I am looking for a solution how to insure both of our cabins ( I am paying for both of them) under one policy. Does anybody have experience with this. If I add the whole cost to my policy would it cover both cabins? I am insuring me and my two children and I could possibly add one of my kids to their cabin and take one of my parents in my cabin......Any suggestions here? Trying to avoid to pay $90.00 per person for them since they already have travel insurance.

    Thank you

  10. I recommend Paradise Beach! I would say much better value. Clean bathrooms too! $15.00 taxi ride from the port.(4 of us) Food and drinks are inexpensive and you don't have to do all inclusive. Inflatables , kayak, paddle boats all included in $17.00 pass(optional) Free chairs and umbrellas with $3.00 admission fee. They do expect you to have some food or drink from the bar. Very good food as well.

  11. I called today alamo after i made reservation. But I think I have a different situation than OP I am getting rental car at Fort Lauderdale Airport spending a night returning a car at Miami airport and I was told there is a free shuttle from Miami Airport to Port of Miami. It may be different in Fort Lauderdale.
