  1. Great time on Indy!!! We loved our cruise last week. It was slow getting on board yes, but they worked hard and were very pleasant. It was 4400 people on board so I can imagine if they all come at the same time it's not easy. We couldn't make it to the port before 1 so I think that is the problem, I recommend to go early maybe 10:30 am. BTW we used Embassy suites for parking at $4.95 per day and everything went smooth there too.

This was the best ship and best cruise I have ever been on (only my fifth  been on Carnival, Holland America and MSC and another RCCL)

The director was amazing !!!! He was hilarious! We attended the comedy show which was really great and so funny! We also attended the dance production performance and another show in the big theater and both were amazing.

Food was excellent in the main dining room and just fine in the Windjammer if you avoid the scrambled eggs in am lol. Pizza place and cafe Promenade was great too!

Everyone was friendly and polite, everything was clean and pretty.

Our two kids didn't even go to the camp because there was just so much to do on board with us. We did the flow rider, we ice skated (make sure you bring long pants it's required for ice skating), we did the rock climbing wall, watch movies on the deck from the hot tub. We had lots of fun in the casino and the different kind of lounges with music. Just couldn't do it all.....SO we need to do it again :D

In Cozumel we went to Paradise beach, the kids had a ball on the inflatables on the ocean while we relaxed with few beers and lunch on the beach. In Belize we took a private tour with king David AlTourNative Belize Services that was the best decision we ever made! The knowledge of the tour guide was priceless it included zip lining (we were suppose to do the cave tubing, but it was closed due to floods) and we visited Altun Ha ruins.

If you do the caves or zip line >>>>BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT!!!!! you can Thank me later lol :o

Ending the last night with the Adult only game QUEST was just awesome and so much fun!

Oh I forgot our waiters in the MDR were great also!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your cruise as much as we did!

I actually have some of the compass papers I will try to upload it soon.

  2. Thank you all for sharing your experience ;-)We will be on Independence in Belize if anybody has a particular experience with the tender on that ship. I believe we will be the only ship in port that day. I was hoping that I don't have to have the kids wait in line for hours to get on the tender, but will have to deal with it if all persons in the party have to stand in line to get a ticket.

  3. We have booked a private tour excursion in Belize (not the cruise line offer) and we were told to try to be on the first tender to give us enough time. After reading some horror stories about tender in Belize( waiting in lines for hours etc.) I am little worry how we are going to accomplish this? Anybody has some suggestions, experience? What is the process? Do you go get your ticket and come back or do you have to wait in line until they start tendering if you go early?

    Thank you.

  4. Maybe if you get turned away you can spend quality time with your children as a family and not have to sweat the small stuff.

as for Quoted above.... Thank you for your smart remarks and since you don't know our family your comment was unnecessary....yes we do spend quality time with our children every single day and we certainly will on the cruise. Kids club is not for us to dump our kids in it's for their entertainment they absolutely love it there. I just don't want to disappoint our kids if they wouldn't be able to join the activities by kids club.

Thank you everyone else for the helpful info.:)

  5. All cruise line kids camps are capacity controlled. It's a first come, first served system. On holiday and other peak time sailings. It is the norm to have the be a real possibility. Carnival is no exception.

Really? I read that NCL put a new policy in place this year about the capacity, but Carnival never turned kids away they just hire more staff. Of course I understand the capacity of a room is limited, but they can take the kids play ball etc. it's not like they stay all in that room. I think it's all about how many staff members they have available? I am just interested in someone experience with this on any cruises. Were you ever turned away due to capacity? Thank you

  6. I was about to book a NCL Thanksgiving cruise coming with our kids. Never cruised with NCL before, so when I was doing research I found thread about NCL kids club turning kids away after full capacity (75) kids. I would hate that our kids would be turned away. It would be a deal breaker and I would go back to Carnival. We like Carnival but Tampa port is more convenient for us and there isn't Carnival cruise leaving Tampa for the dates we need. I was hoping to try NCl, but this might just change my mind. Thank you for any experience you would have with this.

  7. First time sailing with Carnival and from Charleston. We stayed in Mt. Pleasant at Red Roof Inn (very nice Red Roof Inn I was shocked) I searched and searched for the best deal, but not a dump and this was the best deal believe me.(call them, somehow I got better price than on-line) All the hotels with shuttles are overpriced. $25.00 for taxi to the port. We spent our morning at the Patriots point Navy Museum and it was amazing!!!! Boarded around 1 PM went through few lines nothing major, no problem. Went right into our cabin and for lunch.

We did have some really rough seas and not a great weather. Missed Half Moon Key which we were really excited to go . So some disappointments there. However we did really enjoy the cruise. We just really kept our mind open and focus on the positive things.

I DIDN'T HAVE TO COOK, CLEAN AND ENTERTAIN ANYBODY!!!!

Food was amazing in the dining room ...some of our favorites: Crab Cakes, Frogs legs, Escargots, Lobster, Basa fish fillet, steak, ALL THE DESSERTS.

Lunch Buffet in Lido was not that great except the DELI and Mongolian Wok and of course the DESSERTS!!! You can tell I like sweets lol :p I guess my boys liked the grill too...burgers, french fries etc.

Breakfast: we always ordered room service coffee to start with and then up to lido. My favorite was the Eggs Benedict, croissants and french toast. Scrambled eggs and Omelets were disappointment. But there is something for everyone, so can't really complain. We ate a lot!!!! Plenty of fruit, yogurts and so much of other foods.

We had our kids with us and Camp carnival was great, they loved it there and we had to begg them to come out to play with us.

Pool area was not too crowded and we always found chairs. The music was definitely way too loud, we didn't enjoy that and try to run away to the serenity deck few time when we didn't have kids with us. Two adult only hot tubs available there was great.

At the pool one hut tub for adults only and the other one was full of the kids (ours too ;-) anyway I think that was good, they had that separated and allowed the kids have fun too. I was amazed how many parents just totally didn't watch their kids, but I will not comment more on that.

Overall great cruise, great job Carnival, fully satisfied with all services etc. Will go with Carnival again, maybe not in the winter months from Charleston, because of the weather, since we(I) like to lay by the pool and enjoy the sun.

Here is some more pointers I can think of that could help someone....

I did pretty good research before we went so I was ready, here is some think I was happy to know listed first........ but here is some things I have learned or will do next time listed "under":

*Over the door shoe hanging storage for everything in the bathroom

*Go to the casino to get your lanyard for your S&S card

*Sign up on carnival web site for fun ship forum to communicate with you family back home for free ( be prepared for very SLOW connection) I would not purchase the on ship WIFI literally loads one page in 5 minutes

*In the Casino get $5.00 play coupon if you buy drink of the night drink purchased

*Beach in Nassau Junnkano Beach perfectly fine and free walking distance

*You don't have to pose for every photographer

*Bring bottle of wine and few sodas on board

*You can decorate your door to find it faster

*Bring our covered plastic cups to fill with iced tea etc.

*Call the cabin if need to get in touch with whoever just went to get something and you forgot to tell him what else lol (number of the deck and the cabin number)

    Things learned:

*The towel holders/clips on the lounge chairs some people had were cool. I wish I had that, because it was so windy.

*I will bring ear plugs for the pool are music it's awfully loud if you want to relax. Serenity pool is the best to relax with no music if space available.

*Warmer clothes for the windy days

*I will bring the 5 hour energy thingy because after I took some motion sickness pills I wanted to go to bed at 9PM ;-(((

*WI-FI in Grand Turks at MargaritaVille FREE

*WI-FI free at the slushy store across from MC Donald on the way to Junnkano Beach password is "summer" and they have a good ice cones(huge if medium) lol

*Grand Turks be careful for jelly fish (tiny ones) we snorkeled there and I got stung "ouch", but nobody else in our party did.

*Comedian show is good, but not all the comedians are good ...the African American women was terrible(sorry don't remember her name starting with "W" so lesson learned sit close to the door so you can easily walk out on not sit through an awful show.

I may think of more later...or if any questions I will gladly answer
