  1. This is my sixth cruise but first time thinking about booking drink package. . Mine for December which is actually nine months out but it’s $66 a day I have four Sea days plus sail-away.  I think this sounds like something I want to grab? Typically does anybody think it’s gonna go below the $66 in the next nine months? And is it truly that easy to cancel and rebook if it does?

From my personal experience on several lines, the quality is not as good as I get at home, and the price is 2 to 3 times that at home. It is a nice environment for sure. I suppose your milage may vary but I will not be inclined to try it again. I go every 2 weeks at home but I think I will skip it at sea.

    Thanks.

  3. Anyone booked a massage On the Allure of the Seas - not just on “any” ship?  Worth it? Review?   I’ve always wanted to book a massage onboard but leery of the quality of the services on the ships?   I have someone here at home who’s fantastic and I don’t want to be disappointed.  TIA

Yes - to confirm as I said in my original response it is credited indiscriminately to your on board account as charges are made, regardless of the charge. (Other than as a deposit for a future booking made on board).  But, again, as it will be non-nonrefundable, if your on board charges are less than your OBC, you will lose that unused balance - it is not credited to your credit card or refunded in cash.  Actually very simple.

Oh I doubt I’ll have less than  the $100  charges for the week 😉😊😂

I cannot imagine ever being on a cruise without running up some on-board spending needing to be paid;  so it makes no difference to me if that $100 credit went towards, drinks, spa, service charges, specialty dining or whatever - it will simply reduce the amount I ultimately pay out pocket by $100.

Good to know. Exactely what I was looking for..  DIdn’t know if it just automatically came off my spending or I had to designate it specifically.  I didn’t want to wait til the end only to find out my cc was charged for things but still had this (non-refundable) OBC 😉

At least with the two cruise lines cited, RCI and Celebrity, while you can choose how it is spent at your discretion, the amount  of OBC is indiscriminately applied towards any and all charges made to your stateroom account while on board.  It can be spent by you for anything on board other than for use as a deposit for a future cruise booked on board.

But you cannot say to have it applied for one specific charge or another - it is just applied as a blind credit as charges are made on your account. So how you spend it is up to you but how it is applied is based on when a charge is made.  Purchases can also be made against your OBC in advance of the cruise for excursions, dining, etc.

Also, cruise line provided OBC is non-refundable and not given back in cash if not spent.  Interesting - and nice - options given for requested disbursement of remaining OBC.

That being said we usually make our first OBC purchases for specialty dining.

    THANKS- this is VERY HELPFUL!!!!

    Possibilities:

    Put towards gratuities

    Specialty dining

    Soda/mocktails package

    Toward excursion

    Internet package
    Salon

    Photos

    Onboard shops

We’ve done all of the above 👍🏼
    Unfortunately, $100 wont go far on-board ☹️

Thanks for all these great options.  I already did pre-paid gratuities this time (without thinking) but the rest sound great!  I was leaning towards the Salon or Photos right now

Encouraged may be a understatement.  We were on Symphony in Nov.  One of the couples we met in the Diamond Lounge had made no reservations and just winged it.  Always a long line for those with no reservations and twice they were not able to sit together.  Ice show was standing room only.  Better safe then frustrated, happy cruising

So exactly WHEN should I expect to find the shows online in my reservation so that I CAN reserve them? TIA

  9. I bought one for our upcoming trip in January. Saw it on an awesome YouTube Blog by EECC Travel.  They used it for all kinds toiletries. - toothpaste, toothbrush, brushes, hair spray, curling irons, first aid kit, sunscreen, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, razors, OTC meds, jewelry, etc. They said basically anything that might sit in the bathroom or on the counter - takes up basically no “real estate” in the small cabins.  Looking forward to trying it

  10. I’m on Allure 1/12/20 - and just made final payment this morning - 90 days - yeah!!!  I see a lot of excursions to book but no entertainment either.  I’ve “heard” its encouraged to make reservations for the shows.   Been a couple years since I cruised - and first time on Allure

  11. Its been a couple years since I cruised RC - going in January 2020 on Allure.  So I can now bring 2 bottles of wine - in my carryon - to keep in my room?   Nice!  Getting a OV Balcony (for first time) - love the suggestion of a glass of wine with some cheese/crackers mid-afternoon on balcony....countin the day!
