  1. The beach in Roatan was called Mahogany Bay. There was a small play area with slides and climbing structures next to the showers. You could pay to ride a tram to and from the ship, but walking is very doable. I walked back with my daughter asleep in her carrier with no problem. It was a fun, relaxing day.

  2. We took our daughter on a Princess Cruise to the Western Caribbean when she was 17 months old. She did great and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again (in fact I just booked a cruise to Alaska with her!). We travelled with her two aunts, her grandmother and her 11 year old cousin. We did traditional dining and ordered off the regular menu for her. I let her use an iPad at the table while we waited or would take her outside to run around. We didn't think she had the interest or attention span to sit through any shows, so she skipped those. She loved running around and exploring all the lounges like Skywalkers during the day and if one of us accompanied her, she could use the children's facilities -- there was plenty to keep her occupied. We took it easy on shore excursions, but did get out and about at each stop for a decent amount of time. We hired a private van to take us around Cozumel, did a beach day in Roatan which was walking distance from the boat and wandered around on our own in Belize. Overall I think it was a great experience for our daughter and an enjoyable vacation for my husband and I. My daughter still occasionally watches the videos I took of her on that trip and when I asked her the other day if she wanted to go on the big boat again she went and got her coat and wanted me to take her immediately...lol!

  3. I live in L.A. so haven't done the tour listed or anything similar, but looking at the itinerary it does appear to hit the major tourist attractions and most of the locations I might take a first time visitor to see (minus Venice Beach which you could do on your own if you stay in Santa Monica and Malibu ). And personally, I think Hollywood/Walk of Fame is boring and a waste of time. So, if you have any special interests, you might forgo the LA overview tour and go spend the day at one or two specific places -- like my Disney fan friends I would take to the Disney Studio and Disneyland, or my craft beer obsessed or foodie friend I would take on a drinking/eating tour, or my architect friend I would take to downtown LA and Hollyhock House, etc. It all depends on what you (and DH) want to get out of the visit. There are a lot of special places and fun things to do in LA. What are your interests? Food, music, movies, fashion, sports, art, cars, gardens, history, or ???

  4. My daughter was 16 months when we took her on her first cruise. We brought a Tula carrier and an Uppababy stroller, because we weren't crunched for packing space. I could have done without the stroller. I used the Tula exclusively in ports. On board the ship my daughter was fine walking or being in the carrier which I found easier to navigate the ship and crowds with than the stroller. I only used the stroller a few times because the Tula didn't go with my dress for dinner..lol!
