  1. Hi,

Has anyone in the UK booked successfully through the Havila website? I have tried several cards but due to the security for UK cards (putting in pin from text) it will not process booking. Unfortunately you can not pay over the phone either with them. Prices seem great atm for 2023 so trying to lock in that price. Thanks

I would not count on anything released now for 2023.

With the way the world is, there could be many changes by then.

Most of the other lines have already released 2023 schedules but agree much will change before then

Unbelievable. I have submitted and emailed at least 10 times during the last 2 months. My submissions are being ignored for a Princess match. Suggestions?

I just sent a screen shot of my Princess Elite to the UK link & got it back within 24 hours with Diamond membership

  4. The Star Clipper will return to Mediterranean for the 2022 season for Star Clippers.

As part of the transition, the cruise ship, which has been sailing in Southeast Asia, will depart Safaga, Egypt in April 2022 on a one-off voyage between Safaga and Athens.

She will sail in the Western Mediterranean from June 2022 onward, offering both open-jaw and roundtrip cruises from Rome and Cannes through October 2022. Cruise lengths range between five and seven days. Her last announced West Mediterranean voyage will be a 10-day trip between Rome and Lisbon. This move will mark the Star Clipper’s first time rejoining her sister ships – the Royal Clipper and Star Flyer – in the Mediterranean since 2016. The ship is expected to complete her 2021-2022 Southeast Asian season in Thailand in March 2022. “While we’re sad to be leaving Asia for now, we’ve seen a steady, growing demand for our popular Med sailings and we’re confident this is going to be welcome news for both trade partners and guests,” said Mikael Krafft, owner, Star Clippers.

Here in the UK, the 2022/23 Winter Preview brochure has recently arrived by email and Star Clipper doesn't appear in the brochure, just Star Flyer and Royal Clipper.

Does anyone know what is happening to Star Clipper?

I don't think the Asia cruises are released yet - just about to double check myself

I replied on another thread. Golden Horizon is being marketed now  by Trailfinders UK. A whole page in a recent flyer.  She will be cruising out of Harwich and Glasgow in summer 2021. Then Suez and out to Bali.

Not sure how N European weather will be acceptable, remember SC trying it and giving up. Rain and tropical bars not condusive to a good cruise!  Also a tricky sea area for an inexperienced crew.

I tried to post this info on the Royal Clipper Fbook page but it was blocked by the one administrator, Cpt Sergei. SC dont want people to know anything about what is obviously a bigger Royal Clipper. But painted to look different.

I just got the pricing today for the first lot of cruises - similar pricing to SC & tempted to do the UK ones as should be ok in August & will be interested to compare to SC

We were hoping to do a European river cruise next year, but I think that is now on hold. I mentioned to my wife that we still have a tent in the garage from when the kids were small, and we could take that somewhere. Apparently I will be doing that on my own !

Luckily we live on the Isle Of Wight & were supposed to be on a Croatia Clipper cruise but we are now going to the New Forest for a week in a couple weeks time - it is so busy on the island with many people having a staycation which is great for local business & the economy.

We have a 13 night trip planned on the Star Flyer, Malta to Athens, booked for April 2021.  Our tenth or eleventh on Star Clippers, I believe.  Yep, we are worried about it, even though final payment is not until 25 January, 2021.  One of our major concerns is having to fly 3 hops from west Florida to Malta, taking ~ 20 hours or so.  Cannot even book that now because of flight restrictions, but truthfully, might cancel because of the airline travel issues, especially the long flight across the pond.  Also, not sure the port calls will remain the same.  🤔😷😪

We have a Safari in January & our next Clipper cruise in June - we were saying last night I do not think we will be going on either with the way it is now & there is no way I want to wear a mask while cruising so will sit this out I think.

  9. For anyone interested the new Clipper ship 'Golden Dawn' will be on sale next month. Looks some great cruises including one around the UK so will be interested to see how they price it. "After spending next Spring cruising from the UK, Golden Horizon will then follow the trade winds east along the Maritime Silk Route, from the Mediterranean to Asia and the Indian Ocean with a fantastic collection of sailing cruises"

    My apologies; try tradewindvoyages.com

This will display an on-line form which, if you complete it, results in them emailing you the brochure.

Thanks for that - looks very interesting & she will even be docked outside my house on the IOW during Cowes week 🙂

Hi everyone. Just paid the final balance for Venice - Rome cruise, leaving 5th September 2020. Must say, I was ( and still am) very doubtful that this cruise will go ahead, but was advised to pay up in full, in order to get a full refund if the cruise is then cancelled. (If I cancel my booking now, I lose the deposit and flight costs).
Just wondered if there are others out there hoping to go on this cruise. Not sure if we are actually looking forward to it now. If there are social distancing measures and compulsory masks etc. It will be a very different trip to the one we had hoped for, but ...fingers crossed.

We were on the cruise before this one - I managed to cancel it & move the deposit to another cruise next year although I was a little apprehensive they would do it. We booked the flights with air-miles so easy to cancel & get the miles credited back to my account. Amazed if your cruise will still go although Venice seems to be open for business,

glad to hear you all have some great trips planned coming up and enjoy each and every one of them with a cold beer

Thanks John - hope you are safe & well

  13. We have 2 Clipper cruises booked for next year - Greece in June & moved our Croatia cruise this August to a Caribbean cruise next December. Throw in a trip to the keys in December hopefully & a safari in Kenya January we are looking forward to travelling again.

I have taken 3 Clipper cruises out of St Maarten and last year I stayed at the Passanghram House which is on the boardwalk couple blocks from the Holland House and much cheaper.  I could walk to the main pier where you drop off luggage and check in in about 15-20 minutes.  Lodging is still an issue after the hurricane but I wanted to be close to the pier and price was reasonable compared with other places nearby.  If you find what you want at a reasonable price I saw go ahead and book it as some have limited availability.  If you  received any OBC a work of caution, in February I had $75 OBC and after the cruise I noticed it was not applied and after calls to Star Clipper they refused to do anything about it so be sure you double your statement before leaving.Enjoy your cruise.

Hi John (I think that is you 🙂 ) - I hope you are well & safe in Tennessee. We had the pleasure of sailing with you on the Flyer in February. We were so lucky to be able to cruise before COVID took it's toll. We have cancelled our remaining cruises this year but still hope to get to the Key's in December & see Jimmy Buffett in Tampa. We moved our Clipper Croatia cruise in August to another Caribbean cruise on the Royal Clipper next December 2021 so 2 booked next year hopefully 🤞🤞 Take care & it was great sailing with you & having a beer or 2 at those wonderful beach bar's we found. I am due to sail on Royal Clipper on 4 July Rome to Venice, followed by overnight stay in Venice. All arrangements incl flights to Rome and from Venice made via Star Clippers. I have paid deposit plus flights, and final payment via travel agent is due by 2 May. Star Clippers say that they cannot refund flights as these were made on a non cancellable basis with the airline but are prepared to transfer the deposit to another cruise this year or next. Hope this helps.

They have kindly now changed our cruise to next year as well - already have one booked so we will have to force ourselves to take another one 🙂

Many thanks - I will contact my travel agent again as I am not sure they even tried last time. Stay safe.

Yes, I called Star Clipper and it was incredibly easy.   i just told the agent that I wanted to exchange this year's reservation for next year's.  She also applied the deposit I had paid to the new reservation.  My invoice says that full refunds will be made up to 120 days in advance, so depending on the date of your cruise you should be ok.  Best of luck and please stay healthy.

Many thanks - we are in the UK so our booking rules are a bit different normally meaning the deposit is non refundable. I will wait another month & see but I will be amazed if anyone is cruising before September. You stay safe as well.

We were in a similar situation, except not due to sail until end of August (Athens to Venice).  I just traded my reservation in for 2021.  I think the chances of things being safe enough by that time to allow us to travel with ease are pretty low.  There were only a few remaining reservations on the cruise I booked, so I think it was a wise choice.  Best of luck regardless of the decision you make.

We are due to sail the end of August as well but my travel agent said we can not move it to next year - did Star Clipper do this for you easily? We have another cruise booked next year so are happy to just add this deposit to that one.

Thanks for that info. Living in the UK I use the UK website www.starclippers.co.uk . The page to which you refer does not appear on the UK site.

I am due to sail in early July Rome to Venice. I am monitoring the situation with some concern as my final balance is due for payment in a few weeks time and communication from Star Clippers is notable by its absence.

We have another one booked in August & I am not even confident that will go ahead. Our balance is due in June - tbh I would not mind if they just let me put that deposit against the one we have booked next year. They sure do not make it easy to see the cancelled cruises.

Have Star Clippers cancelled or revised itineraries of cruises on account of coronavirus? Nothing on their website but no cruises to the Med listed before May.

They have a cruise 17th April from Malta - no way will that happen & amazed if they do any med cruises before July at the earliest. We did a Caribbean cruise 4 weeks ago on the flyer so were very lucky.

  21. We were on the cruise before & did the train in St Kitts which we really enjoyed. South Friars beach was awful as 2 large NCL monstrosities were docked so 1,000's of people - we went over on the tender & came straight back again.
