  1. Offerings are dependent on when your ship arrives/departs or if you are a resort vacationer.

By Day - The first shift leaves the port area at roughly 0900, gets to use the property for beach and other activities, lunch at roughly 1 PM and return to the port around 2:30. This trip supports ships arriving before 0900 and resort guests. The second shift leaves the port at roughly 11:30, gets to the property as lunch is served, gets use of the property and other beach activities in the afternoon and returns to the port around 5 PM. This trip supports ships arriving after 0900 and resort guests bumped from the first shift by ship's passengers. The two shifts overlap at lunch.

By Night - A candle lit dinner and a live show in an outdoor amphitheater. Early shift leaves late afternoon, arrives & has the show followed by dinner and then return to the port. Late shift arrives, has dinner and then attends the show. Return is somewhere around 11 PM. First shift is generally available to ships that leave after 7 PM. Late shift is generally available to ships staying overnight and resort guests.

We have done Las Caletas by day about a dozen times since 2000 and Las Caletas by night three times, all as resort guests.

Is it worth the money? A very subjective question and the answer is dependent on your tolerance for beach vendors, crowds, beach vendors, loud music and beach vendors. Las Caletas does offer a continental breakfast on the trip there (early AM), open bar while there, fresh-made buffet lunch (a cooking class during the meal prep), non-powered water sports and an open bar on the boat rode back. It does not offer large crowds or beach vendors. If your ship is in Vallarta for only 8 hours or so, you will see nothing of Vallarta itself as the excursion takes the whole day. Carnival does spend enough time in port to allow for the day excursion and evening travel to downtown Vallarta. Ships that stay over night have the best of all activities (for the most part).

    Enjoy!

Thank you for all of the info! ;) looks like our ship is in port from 8am-8pm so I guess thats is why we only got a morning to afternoon choice! Think next time we will book one where the ship stays overnight in port so we can experience everything at night there too! :)

    Thanks Again! :)

  2. Las Caletas is always about a 7 hour experience with over an hour total of travel time.

You can book the AM or the PM trip, but either way you can't come and go as you please, or stay longer. (Although I wish we could have!)

We did not get a AM or PM choice when I booked ours last week. I would of loved a PM!! Would give us more time to sleep in a little! 😊 our AM leaves at 8:45-2:45

  3. I agree with the other posters. It's a great day. The ride down is so much fun as the crew entertains and you get great views along the way. While there, there are no vendors so that just makes it even better. The food is good, drinks are included, etc. I've been twice. I know there are some things that cost but I can't remember what. I didn't pay anything extra on my two trips.

    Can't wait!!! :) Thank you!!!

  4. We totally enjoyed our day there! It's a beautiful lush island with a very nice beach.

It wasn't crowded at all. The only people that were there were from the ship, so of course no vendors!

The food was really outstanding and the drink service on the beach was really good also. I remember the paella was delish!!!

You can enjoy the water activities like stand up paddling boarding, canoes, rafts, etc, or just relax.

The staff puts on a show on the 45 minute or so boat ride there and back that was really entertaining. They also serve drinks on the boat ride.

    Enjoy your cruise!

    Sounds great!! :) Can't wait!!!

    Thank you! ;)

  5. The perk is that you have a separate dedicated line for you to use. Are you using it because you bought FTTF or are you diamond/platinum?? I ask because there are 2 separate places to check in depending on which category you fall into. Also diamond/platinum get on first and then FTTF people but FTTF people have their cabins ready for them the moment they are on board.

We usually arrive at about 10:30 or 11AM and are on board around noon or a little after.

We booked a Vista Suite. Did not pay extra for the FTTF That's great thanks was thinking about showing up around that time.

  6. I sailed on the Miracle last Nov before all the upgrades. I will be sailing again on Oct 3rd. Can someone tell me what upgrades they did?

    Thank you

    Barbara

Let us know how it was when you get back. We leave Nov 7!

    Thanks :)

  7. I was on the Miracle in January and ate in the Steak House twice. There is no sugar free desserts on the menu, since I only can eat sugar free desserts I asked them if they could make something. They did provide a sugar free dessert for me but I think it was of the menu

from the main dining room. They did make the plate look real pretty. I appreciated there extra efforts. Make sure to tell them that you will need a sugar free dessert when you make your reservation.

Thank you! I will do that. :)

  8. It has been a year since we sailed the Miracle but Nick and Nora's was outstanding. We dined there 3 of 8 nights on board. Interestingly enough we thought the Miracle in general had some of the best food in the MDR of all our Carnival sailings.

CaliCruiseFamily, I don't know about the sugar free deserts. I do know one of our nights in the steakhouse when asked about dessert we told them no thank you. We planed to go to the MDR and have dessert. They were kind enough to go downstairs and bring our chosen dessert to the steakhouse.

AS of February Carnival was still offering a free bottle of wine on the first and second night. Remember, you get what you pay for. It was drinkable but not high on my list. I love Merlot but this one was just off.

    Have a wonderful cruise.

    Thank you! :)
