  1. My family was on this cruise for our granddaughter's 12th birthday. Your review is fantastic.

You are so right about the issues with the TVs. Not only is the channel selection horrible now, our TV would start changing channels even when we weren't touching the remote. Once it went thru all the channels 5 times before it stopped. Then another time I couldn't find the remote and my husband laughed and said he hid it under the covers on the bed so it would stay on what he was watching. Hopefully (as far as channel selection) our survey's will eventually do some good. It was too hard to keep up with the news when I was forced to only have a station that I totally hate.

The best entertainment I could find was Russell, the piano bar guy. He was an excellent song "re-writer" with a heavy Asian accent.....but he was still by far the best. LOL

Once again, thanks for the review. It's great!

  2. I am obsessed with finding the ship's coin. It's number one on my to-do list for every cruise.

The only other thing I have to do is get up to make pictures of the sunrise. Living in Tennessee, there's always "stuff" between me and the sun coming up so I take advantage of being able to see every second of it with no buildings or trees or hillsides.

  3. My four headsets were left in the cabin on purpose. I have to ask, how are headsets fun? I have Bose QC 15, a different league than CCL's $10 headset. We were going to "regift" them for Christmas, but my wife thought that would be tacky.

I apologize to you coevan for offending you with my happiness. I was raised to appreciate gifts so it doesn't take a lot to make me happy.

  4. On Conquest in January, the college football championship between Alabama and Georgia was shown on the "big screen". It was fun. They rearranged the movie schedule so they could show it. At times the screen glitched some but it was still awesome to get to watch it at sea.

  5. We've been on several classes of ships from Holiday to Vista but Elation has my heart. Our favorite part of the Fantasy Class is the open-air "wings" at the back. It is our Happy Place. It would have been nice for Carnival to have those on some of the bigger ships.

  6. We don't like the Strawberry Plate either. We give it away. Last cruise, the people we gave it to didn't even eat it. Said the berries were terrible. Cruise before last it was brought to the cabin after dinner. Terrible timing.

On my last after-cruise survey, I said that I wish they would remove the restrictions on the Free Drink. It's very inconvenient if you don't want to eat in the MDR for breakfast/brunch. It's frustrating to stand in the long line waiting to get to the point you can order it and then have to wait in an awkward place while they go where ever they have to go to have it made.

  7. I disagree you should put luggage tags on your carry on. If you set your carry on or backpack down and walk away without it you now stand a chance of getting it returned to the rightful owner. Better safe than sorry!

I totally agree! My husband carries his diabetic meds in his carry on and it would be horrible if he accidentally left it somewhere and didn't get it back quickly or at all. I even put a Carnival luggage on my camera case.

  8. We were on Conquest a couple of weeks ago. There were a few connection issues at times and the strange thing is that it happened while docked at the ports. All we purchased was the Social Plan since all of our kids have Facebook/Messenger. The price is lower if you pre-buy the package. It's good enough that we would buy it again next time.

  9. Several years ago on Inspiration, first night we were seated at a table for 12. There were four of us so I thought it was going to be great to meet some new people. There was one woman with a very big mouth that had to control they entire table. She was totally annoying. After dinner we talked about asking to be moved away from her. When we got up the next morning, we had a note under our door telling us we'd been assigned to a new table. I thought our friends did it and they thought we did it. Come to find out that night, the annoying woman had us moved. She didn't like us! LOL We didn't react to her "show" like she thought we should. It was great. However, on Elation in 2014, we met a couple at our dinner table that we love. We have gone on another cruise together and keep in touch regularly.
